Objective:To test the in vitro protective role of aqueous extract of Ocimum gratissimum Linn. (***) and ascorbic acid against nicotine-induced murine peritoneal macrophage. Methods:Peritoneal macrophages from mice were treated with nicotine(10 mM),nicotine (10 mM) with aqueous extract of ***(1 to 25μg/mL),and nicotine(10 mM) with ascorbic acid(0.01 mM) for 12 h in cell culture media,while the control group was treated with culture *** of free radical generation,lipid peroxidation,protein carbonyls,oxidized glutathione levels and DNA damage were observed and ***:Phytochemical analysis of aqueous extract has shown high amount of phenolics and flavonoids compound present in *** significantly increased free radical generation,lipid peroxidation,protein carbonyls,oxidized glutathione levels and DNA damage were observed in nicotine-treated group as compared to the control group:those were significantly reduced in aqueous extract of O. gratissimum and ascorbic acid supplemented ***,significantly reduced antioxidant status in nicotine exposed murine peritoneal macrophage was effectively ameliorated by these two *** the different concentration of aqueous extract of ***,the maximum protective effect was observed at 10μg/mL which does not produce any significant change in the normal ***:These findings suggest the potential use and beneficial role of *** as a modulator of nicotine-induced cellular damage in murine peritoneal macrophage.

Although Twitter is used for emergency management activities,the relevance of tweets during a hazard event is still open to *** this study,six different computational(*** Language Processing)and spatiotemporal analytical approaches were implemented to assess the relevance of risk information extracted from tweets obtained during the 2013 Colorado flood ***,tweets containing information about the flooding events and its impacts were *** of the relationships between tweet volume and its content with precipitation amount,damage extent,and official reports revealed that relevant tweets provided information about the event and its impacts rather than any other risk information that public expects to receive via alert ***,only 14% of the geo-tagged tweets and only 0.06% of the total fire hose tweets were found to be relevant to the *** providing insight into the quality of social media data and its usefulness to emergency management activities,this study contributes to the literature on quality of big *** research in this area would focus on assessing the reliability of relevant tweets for disaster related situational awareness.

Background β-blocker (BB) therapy is a cornerstone for the treatment of coronary heart disease (CHD).The evidence of the benefit from long-term BB therapy in diabetic patients with stable CHD is *** meta-analysis summarizes the evidence relating to the BB therapy in diabetic patients with stable *** A meta-analysis was performed according to PrISMA and MOOSE guidelines for reporting of systematic reviews of observational ***,Embase,and Cochrane central were searched and two authors independently screened studies for *** quality of studies was assessed with the Newcastle Ottawa *** primary outcome of interest was all-cause mortality,cardiovascular (CV) mortality and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in diabetic patients with and without BB therapy.A generic inverse variance model was used to pool odds ratio or hazards ratio from included studies to calculate the overall effect *** significance threshold was set at P-value r non-randomized studies with 9515 participants were selected for the *** studies were post-hoc analyses of randomized controlled trials,and one article was an analysis of a nationally representative *** a fixed effects model,BB therapy in diabetic patients with stable CHD was found to be associated with increased risk of CV mortality,and MACE (27% and 32% respectively;P-value reduction in all-cause mortality (Hr 1.12;95% CI: 0.94–1.33;P-value = 0.22).Conclusion BB therapy in diabetic patients with stable CHD appears to be linked to higher *** randomized trials are needed in this population to confirm these findings.

Due to climate change,it is necessary to develop plant varieties that are resilient to climate conditions and resistant to abiotic and biotic *** use of microalgae,which are microorganisms that contain carbohydrates,proteins,lipids,and vitamins,against drought tolerance is a new *** aim of the current study was to determine the drought-related mechanisms in the conomon melon genotype and develop drought-tolerant melon ***,physiological,pomological,and molecular analyses were carried out on the algae-treated *** has been determined that commercial algae application provides the best results in leaf temperature,leaf relative water contents(LrWC),plant height,fruit length,fruit diameter,and yield,while Cag Cag(a special river in the region)stream algae application gives better results in main stem *** was determined that the number of nodes in the control(without algae)plots was higher than in the other two *** and LrWC and plant height values of genotype 7 were the best values among other *** leaf temperature measurement was lower on genotype 9 than on the other *** the highest fruit length value was measured in genotype 1,genotype 8 was superior in the main stem diameter,fruit diameter,and the number of nodes among the remaining plant *** terms of yield,it was determined that the interaction between genotype 2 and the commercial algae resulted in the best *** addition,the results of the genetic evaluation revealed that the materials used were not genetically distant from each other and more detailed genetic evaluations are *** molecular kinship analysis revealed that the genotypes used in the study were divided into three distinct groups,with individuals within each group exhibiting a high degree of relatedness to one *** a result of the study,it was found that the application of microalgae had significant effects on improving the drought tolerance

Adeno-associated virus(AAV)is an essential instrument in the neuroscientist’s toolkit,which allows delivery of DNA to provide labeling with fluorescent proteins or genetic instructions to regulate gene *** the field of neural regeneration,the transduction of neurons enables the observation and regulation of axon growth and regeneration,and in the future will likely be a mechanism for delivering molecular therapies to promote sprouting and regeneration after central nervous system *** formulations of AAV preparations permit efficient viral transduction under physiologic conditions,but an improved understanding of the mechanistic limitations of AAV transduction may facilitate production of more resilient AAV strains for investigative and therapeutic *** studied AAV transduction in the context of prior exposure of AAV serotype 8(AAV8)to environmental pH within the range encountered during endosomal endocytosis(pH 7.4 to pH 4.4),during which low pH-triggered structural and autoproteolytic changes to the viral capsid are believed to be necessary for endosome escape and virus *** to the fundamental nature of these processes,we hypothesized that premature exposure of AAV8 particles to acidic pH would decrease viral transduction of HT1080 cells in vitro,as measured by fluorescent reporter gene expression using high-content imaging *** found that increasingly acidic incubation conditions were associated with concomitant reductions in transduction efficiency,and that quantitative levels of reporter gene expression in transduced cells were similarly *** biggest decrease in transduction occurred between pH 7.4 and pH 6.4,suggesting the possible co-occurrence of a pH-associated event and viral inactivation within that *** together,these findings indicate that exposure of AAV8 to acidic pH for as little as 1 hour is deleterious to transduction *** studies are necessary to understand the pH-associated
