Mercury removal from aqueous solution using petal-like MoS_(2) nanosheets

recently,different nanomaterial-based adsorbents have received greater attention for the removal of environmental pollutants,specifically heavy metals from aqueous *** this work,we synthesized few-layered MoS2 nanosheets via a surfactant-assisted hydrothermal method and utilized them as an efficient adsorbent for the removal of mercury from aqueous *** synthesized MoS2 nanosheets showed petal-like morphology as confirmed by scanning electron microscope and high-resolution transmission electron microscopic *** average thickness of the nanosheets is found to be about 57 *** high stability and negative zeta potential makes this material suitable for efficient adsorption of mercury from aqueous *** adsorption efficiency of the adsorbent was investigated as a function of pH,contact time and adsorbent *** kinetics of adsorption and reusability potential of the adsorbent were also performed.A pseudo-second-order kinetics for mercury adsorption was *** prepared MoS_(2) nanosheets showed 93%mercury removal efficiency,whereas regenerated adsorbent showed 91%and 79%removal efficiency in the respective 2^(nd) and 3^(rd) *** adsorption capacity of the adsorbent was found to be 289 mg/g at room temperature.

Developing effective and long-term treatment strategies for rare and complex neurodegenerative diseases is challenging. One of the major roadblocks is the extensive heterogeneity among patients. This hinders understanding the underlying disease-causing mechanisms and building solutions that have implications for a broad spectrum of patients. One potential solution is to develop personalized medicine approaches based on strategies that target the most prevalent cellular events that are perturbed in patients. Especially in patients with a known genetic mutation, it may be possible to understand how these mutations contribute to problems that lead to neurodegeneration. Protein–protein interaction analyses offer great advantages for revealing how proteins interact, which cellular events are primarily involved in these interactions, and how they become affected when key genes are mutated in patients. This line of investigation also suggests novel druggable targets for patients with different mutations. Here, we focus on alsin and spastin, two proteins that are identified as “causative” for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and hereditary spastic paraplegia, respectively, when mutated. Our review analyzes the protein interactome for alsin and spastin, the canonical pathways that are primarily important for each protein domain, as well as compounds that are either Food and Drug Administration–approved or are in active clinical trials concerning the affected cellular pathways. This line of research begins to pave the way for personalized medicine approaches that are desperately needed for rare neurodegenerative diseases that are complex and heterogeneous.

Plasma ignition threshold of nanoparticle-based and bulk silver targets was measured in air. The plasma was initiated by a Nd:YAG laser at wavelengths of 355, 532, and 1064 nm. The plasma ignition was monitored utilizing the prominent Ag I line at 546.5 nm. Lower ignition thresholds of the nanoparticle-based silver target were estimated at 0.4?±?0.02, 0.34?±?0.04, and 0.27?±?0.035 J cm^(-2) coupled with the different laser wavelengths, respectively. In contrast, the bulk silver target plasma exhibited an order of magnitude higher ignition threshold. A three orders of magnitude enhanced emission intensity from the nano-based target over the bulk target was achieved at lower levels of laser irradiation. A reduction of the thermal diffusion length of the nanosilver was assumed in order to theoretically predict this reduction in the plasma threshold. In addition, the effect of self-reversal on the resonance lines was taken into consideration.

The development of intelligent algorithms for controlling autonomous mobile robots in real-time activities has increased dramatically in recent ***,conventional intelligent algorithms currently fail to accurately predict unexpected obstacles involved in tour paths and thereby suffer from inefficient tour *** present study addresses these issues by proposing a potential field integrated pruned adaptive resonance theory(PPArT)neural network for effectively managing the touring process of autonomous mobile robots in *** proposed system is implemented using the AlphaBot platform,and the performance of the system is evaluated according to the obstacle prediction accuracy,path detection accuracy,time-lapse,tour length,and the overall accuracy of the *** proposed system provide a very high obstacle prediction accuracy of 99.61%.Accordingly,the proposed tour planning design effectively predicts unexpected obstacles in the environment and thereby increases the overall efficiency of tour navigation.

In this article,we introduce a complete set of constitutive relations and field equations for the linear reduced micromorphic *** further investigate the internal variables and their relationship in the case of two-dimensional(2D)wave *** dynamic response is investigated for composite materials,which is due to an external wave in two dimensions applied at the boundary of the considered *** solutions for the model are unavailable at this stage due to dependency of the field equations on spatial and time variables in a complicated manner.A finite element approach is adopted to derive approximate solutions for the field equations,and numerical finite element solutions for the internal fields are presented in detail and discussed.

Acetylcholinesterase(AChE) plays an important role in Alzheimer's disease(AD). The excessive activity of AChE causes various neuronal problems, particularly dementia and neuronal cell deaths. Generally, antiAChE drugs induce some serious neuronal side effects in humans. Therefore, this study sought to identify alternative drug molecules from natural products with fewer side effects than those of conventional drugs for treating AD. To achieve this, we developed computational methods for predicting drug and target binding affinities using the Schrodinger suite. The target and ligand molecules were retrieved from established databases. The target enzyme has 539 amino acid residues in its sequence alignment. Ligand molecules of 20 bioactive molecules were obtained from different kinds of plants, after which we performed critical analyses such as molecular docking; molecular dynamic(MD) simulations; and absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion(ADME) analysis. In the docking studies, the natural compound rutin showed a superior docking score of à 12.335 with a good binding energy value ofà73.313 kcal/mol. Based on these findings, rutin and the target complex was used to perform MD simulations to analyze rutin stability at 30 ns. In conclusion, our study demonstrates that rutin is a superior drug candidate for AD. Therefore, we propose that this molecule is worth further investigation using in vitro studies.

Simultaneous quantification of Lamivudine and Zidovudine in tablets by HPTLC method was developed and *** chromatograms were developed using a mobile phase of toluene:ethyl acetate:methanol (4:4:2,v/v/v) on pre-coated plate of silica gel GF aluminum TLC plate and quantified by densitometric absorbance mode at 276 *** r f values were 0.4170.03 and 0.6070.04 for Lamivudine and Zidovudine,*** linearity of the method was found to be within the concentration range of 50 250 ng/spot for Lamivudine and for Zidovudine,it was 100 500 ng/*** lower limits of detection and quantification were 2.23 ng/spot and 7.90 ng/spot for Lamivudine and 2.90 ng/spot and 8.85 ng/spot for *** method was also validated for precision,specificity and *** developed method was used to analyze fixed-dose tablets (Duovir,Cipla Ltd) samples of Lamivudine and Zidovudine.
