The preparation of natural rubber based isotropic thick magnetorheological elastomers(MrE) was focused on by varying the percentage volume concentration of carbonyl iron powder and developing a test set up to test the dynamic properties. Effect of magnetic field on the damping ratio was studied on the amplification region of the transmissibility curve. The viscoelastic dynamic damping nature of the elastomer was also studied by analyzing the force-displacement hysteresis graphs. The results show that Mr effect increases with the increase in magnetic field as well as carbonyl iron powder particle concentration. It is observed that softer matrix material produces more Mr effect. A maximum of 125% improvement in the loss factor is observed for the MrE with 25% carbonyl iron volume concentration. FEMM simulation shows that as carbonyl iron particle distribution becomes denser, Mr effect is improved. FEMM analysis also reveals that if the distance between the adjacent iron particles are reduced from 20 μm to 10 μm, a 40% increase in stored energy is observed.

This study was aimed at investigating the performance of anaerobic rotating biological cont- reactor treating synthetic wastewater containing a mixture of heavy metals under sulfate redu condition. Statistically valid factorial design of experiments was carried out to understand dynamics of metal removal using this bioreactor system. Copper removal was maximum （〉98% followed by other heavy metals at their respective low inlet concentrations. Metal loading rates than 3.7 mg/L· h in case of Cu（II）; less than 1.69 mg/L· h for Ni（II）, Pb（II）, Zn（II）, Fe（III） and C are favorable to the performance of the An-rBC reactor. removal efficiency of the heavy metals 1 mixture depended on the metal species and their inlet loading concentrations. Analysis of n precipitates formed in the sulfidogenic bioreactor by field emission scanning electron microscopyalong with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （FESEM-EDX） confirmed metal sulfide precipitationby SrB. All these results clearly revealed that the attached growth biofilm bioreactor is well suited for heavy metal removal from complex mixture.

Objective:To prepare curcumin-piperine(Cu-Pi) nanoparticles by various methods and to study the effect of various manufacturing parameters on Cu-Pi nanoparticles and to identify a suitable method for the preparation of Cu-Pi nanoparticles to overcome oral bioavailability and cancer cell targeting limitations in the treatment of ***:Cu-Pi nanoparticles were prepared by thin film hydration method,solid dispersion method,emulsion polymerization method and Fessi *** was carried out to study the effect of various manufacturing parameter on the Cu-Pi ***:Out of four methods,Fessi method produced a minimum average particle size of 85.43 nm with a polydispersity index of 0.183 and zeta potential of 29.7 *** of organic solvent(acetone or ethanol) did not have any significant effect on Cu-Pi ***,increase in sonication time,stirring speed,viscosity,use of 1:10:10 ratio of drag/polymer/surfactant,and use of anionic surfactant or combination of anionic surfactant with cationic polymer or combination of non-ionic surfactant with cationic polymer had a significant effect on Cu-Pi ***:Cu-Pi nanoparticles coated with PEC containing copolymer produced by Fessi method had a minimum average particle size,excellent polydispersity index and optimal zeta potential which fall within the acceptable limits of the *** dual nanoparticulate drug delivery system appears to be promising to overcome oral bioavailability and cancer cell targeting limitations in the treatment of cancer.

After a prolonged debate and discussion,the World Health Organization(WHO)relisted'snakebite'under Category'A'of'Neglected Tropical Diseases'(NTDs)in June 2017 hoping to diminish its burden on ***,in March 2009,WHO added snakebite to its official list of NTDs but later downgraded to'Other Neglected Conditions',a list reduced in importance[1,2].Obviously,the recent inclusion of snakebite in NTDs was due to the estimation of huge toll of deaths due to snake envenomation in tropical countries as supported by the multiple *** inclusion will expedite the process of developing better management protocols and infusing funds for such affected countries.

Spinal muscular atrophy(SMA)is a genetic condition that results in selective lower motor neuron loss with concomitant muscle weakness and *** genetic cause of SMA was understood in 1995 when loss or impairment of the survival motor neuron 1(SMN1)gene was identified as the main contributing factor(Lefebvre et al.,1995).This,in combination with the discovery that humans have a“back-up”gene,SMN2,which can produce low levels(approximately 10%)of the full-length functional SMN protein,has led to the generation of SMA-specific gene *** was traditionally classified according to age of symptom onset and developmental milestones achieved,with life expectancy and severity varying between ***,SMN2 copy number is used as a proxy for the prediction of disease severity,with higher SMN2 copy number typically being associated with reduced severity of SMA,although this relationship is not absolute:some individuals with low SMN2 copy number have less severe SMA phenotypes and vice ***,the etiology of SMA is further complicated by other factors,such as non-typical nucleotide variants and SMN2-independent modifiers of disease severity.

Impact of invasive Ageratina adenophora on relative performance of woody vegetation in different forest ecosystems of Kumaun Himalaya,India

Invasive plant Ageratina adenophora(Sprengel)***&*** has invaded majority of the temperate forests in Kumaun,Central *** on *** invaded forest types,their structural attributes,population demography and regeneration status are still at rudimentary *** this,the present study was conducted to assess the impacts of *** on vegetational attributes and regeneration status of three forest types,viz.,Oak(Quercus oblongata ***),Pine(Pinus roxburghii Sarg.)and Cypress(Cupressus torulosa ***).We selected three sites for each forest type and each site was further purposively stratified into paired sampling plots of 1 ha each i.e.,*** invaded and uninvaded *** results showed large densities of cut stumps or felled trees throughout invaded sites,but with fewer fire signs in comparison to uninvaded *** uninvaded sites,total density and basal area calculated for woody species were relatively higher than those in invaded sites,although results were insignificant(p>0.05).With the exception for Cypress forests,vegetation indices showed low woody species richness and diversity in invaded Oak and Pine ***,regeneration of ***,*** and *** tree species did not differ significantly(p>0.05)between invaded and uninvaded *** insignificant differences clearly imply that ***'s presence has not entirely changed the perennial plant communities in terms of composition,structure and natural ***,tree species with poor or no regeneration status requires special attention and needs management strategies involving control of invasive species in forest ecosystems.
