In the restructured electricity market,microgrid(MG),with the incorporation of smart grid technologies,distributed energy resources(DErs),a pumped-storage-hydraulic(PSH)unit,and a demand response program(DrP),is a smarter and more reliable electricity *** consists of gas turbines and renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic systems and wind *** bidding strategies,prepared by MG operators,decrease the electricity cost and emissions from upstream grid and conventional and renewable energy sources(rES).But it is inefficient due to the very high sporadic characteristics of rES and the very high outage *** solve these issues,this study suggests non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ(NSGA-Ⅱ)for an optimal bidding strategy considering pumped hydroelectric energy storage and DrP based on outage conditions and uncertainties of renewable energy *** uncertainty related to solar and wind units is modeled using lognormal and Weibull probability ***-based DrP is used,especially considering the time of outages along with the time of peak loads and prices,to enhance the reliability of MG and reduce costs and emissions.

The present research focuses on addressing the faster depletion of fossil fuels and environmental pollution in addition to the energy crisis that hinders the progress of a *** the current research,waste banana leaves were considered as substrates for biogas *** is taken as the primary fuel in dual fuel(DF)operations to maximize possible diesel *** performance and combustion assessment were executed in a low heat rejection(LHr)engine using 5%diethyl ether by volume blended with diesel(5DEE)as pilot *** combustion attributes of the engine reveal that the apex of net heat release rate(NHrr)curve retarded a bit as compared to apex of base *** peak cylinder pressure was noted to be 6.19 MPa in the LHr engine running with 5DEE+biogas at 11.7°crank angle(CA)after top dead center(aTDC)compared to 5.23 MPa for the diesel alone operation at the same *** apex point for NHrr was observed to be 54.51 J(°)^(−1)for 5DEE+biogas in LHr engine positioned at 3.2°*** brake thermal efficiency at full engine load operation decreased by 12.7%and 5.2%for biogas substitutions of 0.8 kg h^(−1)with diesel and 5DEE,respectively,compared to the base *** smoke opacity and nitric oxide emissions were reduced during the DF run accompanied by diethyl ether as a fuel additive.

The continuous increase of global atmospheric CO_(2) concentrations brutally damages our environment. A series of methods have been developed to convert CO_(2) to valuable fuels and value-added chemicals to maintain the equilibrium of carbon cycles. The electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)rr) is one of the promising methods to produce fuels and chemicals, and it could offer sustainable paths to decrease carbon intensity and support renewable energy. Thus, significant research efforts and highly efficient catalysts are essential for converting CO_(2) into other valuable chemicals and fuels. Transition metal-based single atoms catalysts(TM-SACs) have recently received much attention and offer outstanding electrochemical applications with high activity and selectivity opportunities. By taking advantage of both heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysts, TM-SACs are the new rising star for electrochemical conversion of CO_(2) to the value-added product with high selectivity. In recent years, enormous research effort has been made to synthesize different TM-SACs with different M–Nxsites and study the electrochemical conversion of CO_(2) to CO. This review has discussed the development and characterization of different TMSACs with various catalytic sites, fundamental understanding of the electrochemical process in CO_(2) rr,intrinsic catalytic activity, and molecular strategics of SACs responsible for CO_(2)rr. Furthermore, we extensively review previous studies on 1 st-row transition metals TM-SACs(Ni, Co, Fe, Cu, Zn, Sn) and dual-atom catalysts(DACs) utilized for electrochemical CO_(2) conversions and highlight the opportunities and challenges.

Mechanisms of NLrP3 inflammasome-mediated hepatic stellate cell activation: Therapeutic potential for liver fibrosis

The liver injury leads to an inflammatory response, which causes the activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) that further secrete ECM proteins and play an important role in liver fibrosis. Moreover, the inflammatory response is a driving force for fibrogenesis, which is triggered by many types of injuries. Exaggerated inflammatory immune responses are mediated by cytoplasmic protein complexes known as inflammasomes, which are involved in many chronic liver diseases. Inflammasomes are pattern recognition receptors (Prrs) that can sense any microbial motifs known as pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs), and host- or environmental-derived stress signals known as damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). The inflammasomes cause caspase-mediated proteolytic cleavage of pro-IL-1β and pro-IL-18 into active IL-1β and IL-18. In this review, we provide a comprehensive summary of the important roles of NLrP3 inflammasome in the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis with an emphasis on several direct and indirect pathways responsible for the NLrP3 inflammasome-mediated HSCs activation and fibrogenesis. In addition, we discuss the general pharmacological and genetics strategies for the inhibition of NLrP3 inflammasome activation and its downstream signaling with examples of emerging pharmacotherapeutics, targeting the NLrP3 inflammasome signaling as well as a possible way to develop effective and safer NLrP3 inflammasome inhibitors.

Australia is a relatively stable continental region but not tectonically inert,having geological conditions that are susceptible to liquefaction when subjected to earthquake ground *** hazard assessment for Australia was conducted because no Australian liquefaction maps that are based on modern Al techniques are currently *** this study,several conditioning factors including Shear wave velocity(Vs30),clay content,soil water content,soil bulk density,soil thickness,soil pH,distance from river,slope and elevation were considered to estimate the liquefaction potential index(LPI).By considering the Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment(PSHA)technique,peak ground acceleration(PGA)was derived for 50 yrs period(500 and 2500 yrs return period)in ***,liquefaction hazard index(LHI)(effects based on the size and depth of the liquefiable areas)was estimated by considering the LPI along with the 2%and 10%exceedance probability of earthquake ***,ground acceleration data from the Geoscience Australia projecting 2%and 10%exceedance rate of PGA for 50 yrs were used in this study to produce earthquake induced soil liquefaction hazard ***,deep neural net-works(DNNs)were also exerted to estimate liquefaction hazard that can be reported as liquefaction hazard base maps for Australia with an accuracy of 94%and 93%,*** per the results,very-high liquefaction hazard can be observed in Western and Southern Australia including some parts of *** research is the first ever country-scale study to be considered for soil liquefaction hazard in Australia using geospatial information in association with PSHA and deep learning *** study used an earthquake design magnitude threshold of Mw 6 using the source model *** resulting maps present the earthquake-triggered liquefaction hazard and are intending to establish a conceptual structure to guide more detailed investigations as may be requir
