In the current research,a thorough examination unfolds concerning the attributes of magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)boundary layer flow and heat transfer inherent to nanoliquids derived from Sisko Al_(2)O_(3)-Eg and TiO_(2)-Eg *** nanoliquids are subjected to an extending *** is duly given to slip boundary conditions,as well as the effects stemming from variable viscosity and variable thermal *** analytical approach applied involves the application of suitable similarity *** conversions serve to transform the initial set of complex nonlinear partial differential equations into a more manageable assembly of ordinary differential *** the utilization of the FEM,these reformulated equations are solved,considering the specified boundary *** outcomes attained are graphically depicted by means of plots and *** visual aids facilitate a comprehensive exploration of how diverse parameters exert influence over the distributions of velocity,temperature,and ***,detailed scrutiny is directed towards the fluctuations characterizing pivotal parameters,viz.,Nusselt number,skin-friction coefficient,and Sherwood *** is identified that the Nusselt number showcases a diminishing trend coinciding with increasing values of the volume fraction parameter(φ).This trend remains consistent regardless of whether the nanoliquid under consideration is Al_(2)O_(3)-Eg or TiO_(2)-Eg *** contrast,both the skin-friction coefficient and Sherwood number assume lower values as the volume fraction parameter(φ)*** pattern remains congruent across both classifications of *** findings of the study impart valuable insights into the complex interplay governing the characteristics of HMT pertaining to Sisko Al_(2)O_(3)-Eg and TiO_(2)-Eg nanoliquids along an extending surface.

S-transformation based integrated approach for spectrum estimation, storage, and sensing in cognitive radio

Cognitive radio (Cr) uses the principle of dynamic spectrum allocation to improve the utilization of spectrum bands. The estimation of missing data is essential for maintaining an uninterrupted quality of service in the Cr. However, the existing methods are not suitable for interpolating missing data in high frequency signals. The storage of spectrum occupancy information is crucial for learning the spectrum usage and prediction. The existing techniques for wideband spectrum sensing suffer from poor edge detection capabilities. This paper proposes an STransformation (ST) based approach to solve these problems. For missing samples, the proposed method improves the accuracy of estimation. The ST can also be used to store the spectrum occupancy information. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms others by improving the accuracy of edge detection. Further, the simple implementation of the ST in the frequency domain is an advantage for the real time application.

Identification of Protein-Coding regions in DNA Sequences Using A Time-Frequency Filtering Approach

Accurate identification of protein-coding regions （exons） in DNA sequences has been a challenging task in bioinformatics. Particularly the coding regions have a 3-base periodicity, which forms the basis of all exon identifica- tion methods. Many signal processing tools and techniques have been applied successfully for the identification task but still improvement in this direction is needed. In this paper, we have introduced a new promising model-independent time-frequency filtering technique based on S-transform for accurate identification of the coding regions. The S-transform is a powerful linear time-frequency representation useful for filtering in time-frequency domain. The potential of the proposed technique has been assessed through simulation study and the results obtained have been compared with the existing methods using standard datasets. The comparative study demonstrates that the proposed method outperforms its counterparts in identifying the coding regions.

Porous ternary complex metal oxide nanoparticles converted from core/shell nanoparticles

We demonstrate an easy and scalable low-temperature process to convert porous ternary complex metal oxide nanoparticles from solution-synthesized core^shell metal oxide nanopartides by thermal annealing. The final products demonstrate superior electrochemical properties with a large capacity and high stability during fast charging/discharging cycles for potential applications as advanced lithium-ion battery （LIB） electrode materials. In addition, a new breakdown mechanism was observed on these novel electrode materials.

Optimization and kinetic modeling of lipase mediated enantioselective kinetic resolution of (±)-2-octanol

Chiral 2-octanol is one of the key intermediates for preparation of liquid crystal materials, as well as many optically active pharmaceuticals. Lipase catalyzed kinetic resolution has proved to be an efficient technique for synthesis of enantiomerically enriched compounds. In the present study, optimization and kinetic modeling of kinetic resolution of (±)-2-octanol was done by using vinyl acetate as an acyl donor in n-heptane as a solvent. response surface methodology (rSM) and four-factor-five-level Centre Composite rotatable Design (CCrD) were employed to evaluate the effect of various parameters such as speed of agitation, enzyme loading, temperature and acyl donor/alcohol molar ratio on conversion, enantiomeric excess (ee), enantioselectivity and initial rate of reaction. Acylation of 2-octanol with vinyl acetate catalyzed by Novozyme 435 follows the ternary complex mechanism (ordered bi-bi mechanism) with inhibition by 2-octanol.

Influence of Combinations of Pesticides and Fertilizers on Aquatic Productivity

We have examined the effects of environmentally realistic concentrations of widely used pesticides and fertilizers for rice paddy in Western Ghats regions of India on chlorophyll and zooplankton production using a laboratory mesocosm. Malathion (100 μg·L-1), Cypermethrin (25 μg·L-1), Nitrate-nitrogen (8 mg·L-1) and Phosphate-phosphorus (8 mg·L-1) in different combinations such as pesticide-pesticide and pesticide-fertilizer were tested in fully factorial manner for a period of 42 days. Study revealed that, chlorophyll production was supported by addition of fertilizers, while combinations of fertilizers with either one or two pesticides reduce the zooplankton density and diversity rendering chlorophyll concentration more than control groups. This could indicate the reason for eutrophication of ponds located in agro-ecosystems. Single application of combinations of pesticides (in spite of presence of fertilizers) even at low concentrations can produce severe negative effects on several taxonomic groups zooplankton living in small shallow water.
