State Transition Induced by Self-Steepening and Self Phase-Modulation

We present a rational solution for a mixed nonlinear Schr6dinger （MNLS） equation. This solution has two free parameters, a and b, representing the contributions of self-steepening and self phase-modulation （SPM） of an associated physical system, respectively. It describes five soliton states： a paired bright-bright soliton, a single soliton, a paired bright-grey soliton, a paired bright-black soliton, and a rogue wave state. We show that the transition among these live states is induced by self-steepening and SPM through tuning the values of a and b. This is a unique and potentially fundamentally important phenomenon in a physical system described by the MNLS eauation.

red mud, the by-product of aluminum production, has been regarded as a problematic residue all over the world. Its storage involves risks as evidenced by the Ajka red mud spill,an accident in Hungary where the slurry broke free, flooding the surrounding areas. As an immediate remediation measure more than 5 cm thick red mud layer was removed from the flooded soil surface. The removed red mud and soil mixture（rMSM） was transferred into the reservoirs for storage. In this paper the application of rMSM is evaluated in a field study aiming at re-utilizing waste, decreasing cost of waste disposal and providing a value-added product. The purpose was to investigate the applicability of rMSM as surface layer component of landfill cover systems. The field study was carried out in two steps： in lysimeters and in field plots. The rMSM was mixed at ratios ranging between 0 and 50% w/w with low quality subsoil（LQS） originally used as surface layer of an interim landfill cover. The characteristics of the LQS ＋ rMSM mixtures compared to the subsoil（LQS） and the rMSM were determined by physical–chemical, biological and ecotoxicological methods. The addition of rMSM to the subsoil（LQS） at up to 20% did not result any ecotoxic effect, but it increased the water holding capacity. In addition, the microbial substrate utilization became about triple of subsoil（LQS） after 10 months. According to our results the rMSM mixed into subsoil（LQS） at20% w/w dose may be applied as surface layer of landfill cover systems.

Solar eruptive events,like flares and coronal mass ejections,are characterized by the rapid release of energy that can give rise to emission of radiation across the entire electromagnetic spectrum and to an abrupt significant increase in the kinetic energy of *** energetic phenomena can have important effects on the space weather conditions and therefore it is necessary to understand their origin,in particular,what is the eruptive potential of an active region(Ar).In these case studies,we compare two distinct methods that were used in previous works to investigate the variations of some characteristic physical parameters during the pre-flare states of flaring *** methods consider:i)the magnetic flux evolution and magnetic helicity accumulation,and ii)the fractal and multi-fractal properties of flux concentrations in *** comparative analysis is based on time series of photospheric data obtained by the Solar Dynamics Observatory between March 2011 and June *** selected two distinct samples of Ars:one is distinguished by the occurrence of more energetic M-and X-class flare events,that may have a rapid effect on not just the near-Earth space,but also on the terrestrial environment;the second is characterized by no-flares or having just a few C-and B-class *** found that the two tested methods complement each other in their ability to assess the eruptive potentials of Ars and could be employed to identify Ars prone to flaring *** on the presented case study,we suggest that using a combination of different methods may aid to identify more reliably the eruptive potentials of Ars and help to better understand the pre-flare states.

Bio-inspired helicoidal composite laminates, inspired by the intricate helical structures found in nature, present a promising frontier for enhancing the mechanical properties of structural designs. Hence, this study provides a comprehensive investigation into the nonlinear free vibration and nonlinear bending behavior of bio-inspired composite plates. The inverse hyperbolic shear deformation theory(IHSDT) of plates is employed to characterize the displacement field, with the incorporation of Green-Lagrange nonlinearity. The problem is modeled using the C0finite element method(FEM), and an in-house code is developed in the MATLAB environment to solve it numerically. Various helicoidal layup configurations including helicoidal recursive(Hr), helicoidal exponential(HE), helicoidal semi-circular(HS), linear helicoidal(LH), and Fibonacci helicoidal(FH)with different layup sequences and quasi-isotropic configurations are studied. The model is validated, and parametric studies are conducted. These studies investigate the effects of layup configurations, side-to-thickness ratio, modulus ratios, boundary conditions, and loading conditions at different load amplitudes on the nonlinear vibration and nonlinear bending behaviors of bio-inspired composite plates. The results show that the laminate sequence exerts a substantial impact on both nonlinear natural frequencies and nonlinear bending behaviors. Moreover, this influence varies across different side-to-thickness ratios and boundary conditions of the bio-inspired composite plate.

本专利的内容是关于采用縱向螺旋轧制法来軋制钻头、铰刀、絲锥等刀具的方法。众所周知,用圆形棒料轧制这类刀具的方法和装置是很多的,但是迄今为止,尚未能获得令人滿意的結果。为了创造一种较好的加工方法,本专利建议将棒料加热到热变形温度(鍛造温度),然后从加热处直接移置于軋辊上,在一道工序上用一组(或几组)轉动的軋辊軋制,不須更换工序而直接精轧出所需截形的刀具来。这种方法的优点首先在于:上述刀具可以在一道工序上一次加热軋制出来,軋出的刀具几乎沒有飞边。与一般軋制方法比較,它有了非常巨大的改进。还必須指出:即使軋制变形量很大,采用一組轧辊也可满足。与此有关的軋制装置结构将在下面简图中加以說明。
