Introduction:The masseter vestibular evoked myogenic potential(mVEMP)is a bilaterally generated,electromyographically(EMG)-mediated response inner.a.ed by the trigeminal *** purpose of the present investigation was to 1)determine whether subjects could accurately achieve and maintain a range of EMG target levels,2)to examine the effects of varied EMG levels on the latencies and amplitudes of the mVEMP,and 3)to investigate the degree of side-to-side asymmetry and any effects of EMG ***:Subjects were nine neurologically and otologically nor.a. young adults.A high-intensity tone burst was presented monaurally while subjects were seated upright and asked to match a range of EMG target levels by clenching their *** were made from the ipsilateral and contralateral masseter muscles referenced to the ear being monaurally ***:We found that the tonic EMG target had no effect on mVEMP ***,although mVEMP amplitudes“scaled”to the EMG target,there was a tendency for the subjects’EMG level to“undershoot”the EMG target levels gr.a.er than 50 *** some individuals did generate differences in EMG activation between sides,there were no significant differences on average EMG activation between ***,while average corrected amplitude asymmetry was similar.a.ross EMG targets,some individuals demonstrated large,corrected amplitude asymmetry ***:The results of this investigation suggest that,as with cVEMP recordings,the underlying EMG activation may vary between subjects and could impact mVEMP amplitudes,yet could be mitigated by amplitude correction *** it is impor.a.t to be aware that even young nor.a. subjects have difficulty maintaining large,tonic EMG activity during the mVEMP recording.

Elevated arsenic and selenium concentrations in water cause health problems to both humans and wildlife. Natural and anthropogenic activities have caused contamination of these elements in waters worldwide, making the development of efficient cost-effective methods in their removal essential. In this work, removal of arsenate and selenite from water by adsorption onto a natural goethite(α-FeO OH) sample was studied at varying conditions. The data was then compared with other.a.senate, selenite/goethite adsorption systems as much of literature shows discrepancies due to varying adsorption conditions. Characterization of the goethite was completed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller sur.a.e ar.a.analysis. Pseudo-first order(PFO) and pseudo-second order(PSO) kinetic models were applied; including comparisons of different regression methods. Various adsorption isotherm models were applied to determine the best fitting model and to compare adsorption capacitates with other works. Desorption/leaching of arsenate and selenite was studied though the addition of phosphate and hydroxyl ions. Langmuir isotherm modeling resulted in maximum adsorption capacities of 6.204 and 7.740 mg/g for.a.senate and selenite adsorption,respectively. The PSO model applied with a non-linear regression resulted in the best kinetic fits for both adsorption and desorption of arsenate and selenite. Adsorption decr.a.ed with incr.a.ing pH. Phosphate induced desorption resulted in the highest percentage of arsenate and selenite desorbed, while hydroxide induced resulted in the fastest desorption kinetics.

电池电动汽车(BEV)的主要挑战之一是续航里程是否足够,因此在任何最近的车辆概念中,最大化的电池体积是合乎需要的。悬架作为最大的电动汽车子系统之一,对这一点有着重要的影响。本研究目的是使用自动化方法进行悬架开发,主要是引入一种新的可转向后悬架概念与电力推进系统,即从配备内燃机(ICE)的传统汽车开始,开发一种悬架,以满足纯电动汽车的新装配要求,同时保持有关驾驶动力学的典型要求。悬架概念是为具有大电池尺寸的高级汽车而优化的,此外还考虑了先进的主动系统,如空气弹簧和大转向角的主动后轮转向。该概念还提出了一种具有良好调整运动学性能的封装解决方案,符合原始设备制造商的调整理念。为解决由此产生的高复杂性,使用了新开发的方法,即运动学优化是用一种创新的方法完成的,该方法根据给定的要求自动提出新的硬点。在设计中,使用简化模型来表示复杂零件的形状,因此可以从包装的角度自动判断运动学概念是否可行。结果表明,新的悬架概念可以处理具有挑战性的装配问题和复杂的运动学要求。

Physiologic magnetic fields on the order of magnitude 10-8gauss have been unified with their propitiators: quantum genetic particles, the gravitational potential of which is about a few ergs. As these fields are applied to the equations for solenoidal models, B=μNI/L, currents of about a micr.a.pere are derived; in perfect accord with recent clinical data indicating the therapeutic efficacy of weak currents in repair.a.d growth of soft tissue, bone and nerve. The mechanism of reorientation of spin angular momentum of leptons and baryons influencing molecular magnetic domains to bring about "particle jumps" is presented to obtain a clinical picture. The clinical picture is that of an or.a.ism placed at right angles to flux lines in the midst of a solenoid immersed in water. The patient is then exposed to exogenously sourced resonant physiologic magnetic fields which convert malalligned atomic lattices of oncogenes and associated particles to homologous nor.a. structures.

Tranexamic acid (TXA) is an anti-fibrinolytic agent which has been proven beneficial in multiple surgical specialties where significant bleeding can occur. Whilst it has been widely available for over 40 years its use within Otorhinolaryngology is still limited. Operations in Otorhinolaryngology are particularly varied with some such as tonsillectomy having the potential for significant life thr.a.ening bleeding. Other operations are performed within small confined surgical fields and even small amounts of bleeding can significantly detriment surgical field and incr.a.e technical difficulty and operative time. This review evaluated the current literature on the benefits of tranexamic acid within the field of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. Overall TXA was demonstrated to be a safe drug with no major.a.verse effects including thromboembolic events reported in any study. It has been shown to be of particular benefit in rhinology by improving surgical field, reducing operative time and reducing postoperative swelling and ecchymosis. The benefit in tonsillectomy is less clear.a.d further studies are required to evaluate its potential use in the reduction of post tonsillectomy haemorr.a.e rates.
