In r.cent studies, differ.ntial diagnosis, clinic featur.s, tr.atment modalities and follow-up outcome of bur.ed-out tumor.fr.m pr.mar. r.tr.per.toneal ger. cell tumor.ar. discussed. If patient with r.tr.per.toneal lymph node involvement and histology of ＂testicular.tumor. bur.ed-out tumor.of the testis was suspected.

AIM: To compar. the effectiveness of br.monidine/timolol fixed combination(BTFC) and dor.olamide/timolol fixed combination(DTFC) in the management of shor.-ter. intr.ocular.pr.ssur.(IOP) incr.ase after.phacoemulsification sur.er..·METHODS: Eighty eyes of 80 patients under.oing phacoemulsification and intr.ocular.lens(IOL)implantation wer. r.ndomly assigned into thr.e *** 1 consisted of 28 eyes and r.pr.sented the contr.l gr.up. Gr.up 2 consisted of 25 eyes under.oing phacoemulsification sur.er. and BTFC was instilled at the end of sur.er.. Gr.up 3 consisted of 27 eyes under.oing phacoemulsification sur.er. and DTFC was instilled at the end of sur.er.. IOP was measur.d pr.oper.tively and 6, 24 h and 1wk postoper.tively.·r.SULTS: Ther. was no statistically significant differ.nce in pr.oper.tive baseline IOP among the thr.e gr.ups(P =0.84). However. IOP was significantly lower.in gr.ups 2 and 3 compar.d to the contr.l gr.up(P r.all compar.sons) at all postoper.tive visits. Ther. was no significant differ.nce between gr.ups 2 and 3 at any visit. Eight eyes(28.6%) in the contr.l gr.up, two(8%) in Gr.up 2 and one(3.7%) in Gr.up 3 had IOP >25 mm Hg at 6h after.sur.er.(P =0.008). However. IOP decr.ased and was >25 mm Hg in only one eye in each gr.up at24 h after.sur.er..·CONCLUSION: BTFC and DTFC have similar.effects in r.ducing incr.ases in IOP after.phacoemulsificationsur.er. and can both be r.commended for.pr.venting IOP spikes after.such sur.er..

AIM:To evaluate the possible effects of phacoemulsification catar.ct sur.er. on ocular.hemodynamics.·METHODS:In this pr.spective study,intr.ocular.pr.ssur.(IOP),pulsatile ocular.blood flow(POBF),and ocular.pulse amplitude(OPA) wer. measur.d pr.-oper.tively(baseline) and at 1 week and 3 weeks postoper.tion in 52 eyes of 26 patients(mean age 63.15±10.25 year.) scheduled for.unilater.l phacoemulsification catar.ct sur.er. with intr.ocular.lens *** all of the eyes,a blood flow analyzer.Par.digm DICON;Par.digm Medical Industr.es Inc.;USA) was used to obtain measur.ments of IOP,POBF,and *** data obtained fr.m oper.ted eyes wer. compar.d statistically to untr.ated fellow phakic eyes of the patients.·r.SULTS:For.oper.ted eyes,the mean baseline IOP,POBF,and OPA values wer. 15.9±4.64mmHg,17.41±4.84μL/s,and 2.91 ±1.12mmHg,*** IOP,POBF,and OPA values wer. 17.19 ±4.34mmHg,17.56 ±6.46μL/s,and3.12 ±1.1mmHg,r.spectively,in the nonoper.ted contr.l *** significant differ.nces fr.m baseline measur.ments wer. not obser.ed 1 week and 3 weeks postoper.tion for.the oper.ted or.nonoper.ted *** wer. also no statistically significant differ.nces in any measur.ments between the oper.ted and nonoper.ted eyes in all the examination per.ods(P >0.05for.all).·CONCLUSION:Uncomplicated phacoemulsification sur.er. does not affect ocular.hemodynamics in nor.otensive eyes with catar.cts.

Delayed gr.ft function (DGF) is a common complication occur.ing most often after.deceased donor.kidney tr.nsplant with sever.l donor.char.cter.stics as well as immunologic factor. that lead to its development *** patients r.quir. dialysis and close kidney function monitor.ng until sufficient allogr.ft function is *** has r.sulted in limited options for.DGF management,either.pr.longed hospitalization until gr.ft function impr.ves to the point wher. dialysis is no longer.needed or.dischar.e back to their.home dialysis unit with per.odic follow up in the tr.nsplant *** is associated with a higher.r.sk for.acute r.jection,pr.matur. gr.ft failur.,and 30-d r.admission;ther.for.,these patients need close monitor.ng,immunosuppr.ssion management,and pr.mpt allogr.ft biopsy if pr.longed DGF is *** may not occur.if these patients ar. dischar.ed back to their.home dialysis *** addr.ss this issue,the Univer.ity of Wisconsin-Madison cr.ated a clinic in 2011 specialized in outpatient DGF *** clinic was able to successfully r.duce hospital length of stay without an incr.ase in 30-d r.admission,gr.ft loss,and patient death.

Objectives Although development of new tr.atment modalities limited digoxin usage, digoxin intoxication is still an impor.ant issue which could be easily over.ooked. In this r.por., we analyzed a case ser.es definitively diagnosed as digoxin intoxication in the moder. er.. Methods We analyzed 71 patients hospitalized with digoxin intoxication confir.ed by histor., complaints, clinical and electr.car.iogr.ph （ECG） findings, and ser.m digoxin levels 〉 2.0 ng/mL, dur.ng a five year.per.od. The demogr.phic and clinical data, indications for.digoxin use, digoxin dosage, concur.ent medications, labor.tor. data, hospital monitor.ng, and ECG findings wer. obtained fr.m all patients. r.sults Thir.y-eight of 71 patients （53.5%） had symptoms of hear. failur. dur.ng admission or.later. Sixty-four.per.ent of patients wer. older.than 75 year.. The per.entage of females was 67%. Atr.al fibr.llation, hyper.ension and gastr.intestinal complaints wer. mor. fr.quent in the females （64% in females, 30% in males, P = 0.007; 81% in female, 52% in males, P = 0.01; 50% in female, 17.3% in males, P = 0.008, r.spectively）. The mor.ality r.te dur.ng the hospital cour.e was 7%. Conclusions This r.por. demonstr.ted the r.duced mor.ality r.tes in patients with digoxin intoxication over.the study per.od. Gastr.intestinal complaints ar. the most common symptoms in this population.
