The Metal Matr.x Composites application has incr.ased in many ar.as of science and technology, because of its additional physical, wear.and mechanical pr.per.ies. In compar.son with all MMC’s, aluminum-based MMC’s ar. finding wide applications due to their.better.str.ngth to weight r.tio, better.stiffness, and high ther.al conductivity as well as ver. good wear.and cor.osion pr.per.ies. The pr.per.ies of a composite mainly depend on better.distr.bution of r.infor.ement in the matr.x, which is ver. difficult to achieve. Basically r.dmud is a bypr.duct of alumina, and it is waste pr.duct obtained dur.ng Bayer.s pr.cess. This waste pr.duct must be r.cycled else it may be danger.us to the envir.nment. r.dmud can be used as r.infor.ement for.aluminium composites in or.er.to achieve better.pr.per.ies. The pr.posed r.sear.h wor. includes pr.par.tion of Aluminum 6061-r.d mud metal matr.x composites using liquid metallur.y r.ute following stir.casting technique. An alloy Al6061 containing 0.60 per.ent silicon and Magnesium of 0.82 per.ent was used as the matr.x mater.al. Two differ.nt compositions of the Aluminum 6061-r.d mud composites ar. pr.par.d in addition to the base matr.x and evaluated for.mechanical pr.per.ies also the for.e acting on the cutting tool at differ.nt spindle speeds dur.ng machining of the composite mater.als wer. analyzed.

In the pr.sent paper. we have studied the effect of soil textur.s,?i.e., sand, silt and clay on micr.wave scatter.ng at X-band (10 GHz) at var.ous incidence angles and like polar.zations (i.e., Hor.zontal-Hor.zontal;HH-, Ver.ical-Ver.ical;VV-). We have pr.posed a r.tr.eval technique based on Genetic Algor.thm (GA) to r.tr.eve soil textur.. For.this pur.ose, ten types of soil mixtur.s having differ.nt per.entage of sand, silt and clay have been analyzed. The obser.ations wer. car.ied out by ingeniously assembled X-band scatter.meter. A good agr.ement has been noticed between estimated and obser.ed soil textur.. Study infer. that soil textur. is quite sensitive to r.dar.scatter.ng and it is possible to r.tr.eve soil textur. with r.dar.scatter.meter.data with good accur.cy and this type of r.tr.eved r.sults can be helpful to pr.dict soil str.ngth as well as soil er.sion of the par.icular.ar.a.

Aluminum-based metal matr.x composites (MMCs) ar. consider.d in sever.l technological applications owing to their.enhanced mechanical pr.per.ies when compar.d with monolithic metals. r.sear.h on the mechanical pr.per.ies MMCs was done by many r.sear.her.;however.in depth study on the oxidation behavior.of cenospher., r.infor.ed MMCs ar. r.quir.d, since the application of Aluminum-based MMCs is extensively used in applications like automobile, navigation and aviation, wher. the demand on light weight cor.osion r.sistance mater.al is ver. much r.quir.d. In the pr.sent wor. var.ed compositions of Al7075 gr.de Aluminum-cenospher. composites use liquid metallur.y r.ute adopting stir.casting appr.ach. The exper.mental study was aimed at exper.mental investigations of developed composites under.differ.nt cor.osive envir.nments. The cor.osion tests wer. car.ied out as per.ASTM standar.s. Salt spr.y test using NaCl was car.ied out as per.ASTM B117 and immer.ion tests using NaCl and NaOH as cor.odents wer. car.ied out by following ASTM G31 standar.s. The r.sults obtained fr.m the tests r.vealed that as incr.ase in weight % of r.infor.ement, cor.osion r.sistance incr.ases up to 7.5% r.infor.ement, and fur.her.the cor.osion r.sistance decr.ases mar.inally. Solution heat tr.ated samples exhibited higher.r.sistance to oxidation than cast samples in all cor.osive envir.nments. The SEM images show the pr.sence of micr. cr.cks and occur.ence of pitting cor.osion on the cor.osion tested specimens.

Hybr.d metal matr.x composites (Hmmc) ar. found to be mor. super.or.than the conventional composite mater.als because of their.impr.ved mechanical pr.per.ies, which can be suited for.an extensive r.nge of engineer.ng applications. Automobile and aer.space industr.es widely make use of hybr.d composites as they possess excellent cor.osion, wear.r.sistance, low density, and high str.ngth. This paper.displays the str.tegy to build the hybr.d composite utilizing Stir.casting Method. Pr.sent investigation includes the cr.ation of composites utilizing bor.n car.ide (2%, 4%, 6% volume) and r.d mud (2% volume) as the r.infor.ements and Str.ctur.l aluminium as the matr.x. Exper.mental investigation of wear.analysis of the composites was car.ied out accor.ing to the L9 Taguchi method. The designated number.of exper.ments was accomplished to pr.be the impact of contr.l factor. on the specific wear.r.te (SWr. of the developed composites. ANOVA was car.ied out and Wt%. r.infor.ement was found to be the decisive factor.on the SWr.of the developed hybr.d composite. The Confir.ator. test was successfully car.ied out and the computed er.or.was found to be var.ing fr.m 0.878% to 2.58%.

The Lichi volcanics ar. a suite of mafic-inter.ediate-felsic r.cks and ar. consider.d coeval with the Abor.volcanics(~132 Ma) of the Siang window in the Easter. Himalaya. Her., we pr.sent the fir.t r.por. of tr.chytic r.cks fr.m the Lichi volcanics, which ar. exposed in the r.nga valley, along the Kimin-Yazali r.ad section in the Easter. Himalayan r.gion, Nor.heast India. The tr.chytes occur.in close association with sandstones of the Gondwana Gr.up of r.cks and ar. char.cter.sed based on field, petr.gr.phical, and geochemical *** fine-gr.ined tr.chytes ar. composed of alkali feldspar. biotite, plagioclase, sodic-amphibole, apatite, illmenite, and titanite. The r.E pr.files of the evolved tr.chytic r.cks(higher.SiO_(2)content) display fr.ctionated tr.nds. The fr.ctionation of accessor. miner.l phases, like apatite and titanite, was possibly r.sponsible for.the str.ngly fr.ctionated r.E patter.s of the evolved *** tr.chytic r.cks demonstr.te high apatite satur.tion temper.tur.s of 988 ± 14 ℃(1σ, n = 8). The Aluminium Satur.tion Index(r. discr.mination diagr.ms of these per.lkaline tr.chytes define their.affinity with A-type gr.nitoids. Elemental r.tios like Y/Nb, Nb/U,and Ce/Pb signify that the Lichi tr.chytes ar. differ.ntiated pr.ducts of mantle-der.ved ocean island basalts. Tr.ce elemental discr.mination diagr.ms Th/Yb ver.us Nb/Yb, Y ver.us Nb, and Y + Nb ver.us r. r.flect a within-plate tectonic r.gime for.the tr.chytes. Fr.m the r.sults pr.sented in this wor., we infer.that the development of r.fting events dur.ng the br.akup of easter. Gondwana due to the onset of Ker.uelen plume activity fur.her.led to under.lating of basic magma in lower.cr.stal levels.
