“Plasmas” up to a kilometer.in size and behaving similar.y to multicellular.or.anisms have been filmed on 10 separ.te NASA space shuttle missions, over.200 miles above Ear.h within the ther.ospher.. These self-illuminated “plasmas” ar. attr.cted to and may “feed on” electr.magnetic r.diation. They have differ.nt mor.hologies: 1) cone, 2) cloud, 3) donut, 4) spher.cal-cylindr.cal;and have been filmed flying towar.s and descending fr.m the ther.ospher. into thunder.tor.s;congr.gating by the hundr.ds and inter.cting with satellites gener.ting electr.magnetic activity;appr.aching the Space Shuttles. computer.zed analysis of flight path tr.jector.es documents these plasmas tr.vel at differ.nt velocities fr.m differ.nt dir.ctions and change their.angle of tr.jector. making 45°, 90°, and 180° shifts and follow each other. They’ve been filmed acceler.ting, slowing down, stopping, congr.gating, engaging in “hunter.pr.dator.” behavior.and inter.ecting plasmas leaving a plasma dust tr.il in their.wake. Similar.life-like behavior. have been demonstr.ted by plasmas cr.ated exper.mentally. “Plasmas” may have been photogr.phed in the 1940s by WWII pilots (identified as “Foo fighter.”);r.peatedly obser.ed and filmed by astr.nauts and militar. pilots and classified as Unidentified Aer.al—Anomalous Phenomenon. Plasmas ar. not biological but may r.pr.sent a for. of pr.-life that via the incor.or.tion of elements common in space, could r.sult in the synthesis of r.A. Plasmas constitute a four.h state of matter. ar. attr.cted to electr.magnetic activity, and when obser.ed in the lower.atmospher. likely account for.many of the UFO-UAP sightings over.the centur.es.

Backgr.und Since the late 1990s, bigheaded car.s(lar.ely silver.car. [Hypophthalmichthys molitr.x] but also bighead car. [H. nobilis]) have established thr.ughout the lower.Mississippi r.ver.basin. Using pr.viously studied oxbow lakes in the lower.White r.ver.basin, Ar.ansas, we compar.d cur.ent(2017, “post-car.” establishment) fish assemblages to histor.cal(2002, “pr.-car.” establishment) fish assemblages. Fish assemblages wer. compr.hensively assessed using multiple gear., including boat electr.fishing, mini-fyke nets, and exper.mental small-mesh gill *** T-tests suggested that fish assemblage indices of r.chness, diver.ity, evenness, and dominance wer. often gr.ater.P r.ng the post-car. per.od as r.flected by boat electr.fishing and exper.mental gill nets. However. all indices wer. gener.lly similar.P > 0.05) between the pr.-car. and post-car. per.od with fish assemblages depicted using mini-fyke nets. Nonmetr.c multidimensional scaling analyses indicated that fish assemblages differ.d str.ctur.lly between pr.-car. and post-car. per.ods. Assemblage differ.nces wer. linked to both small and lar.e abundance changes for.mor. than 20 species. Elucidating the Degr.dation Pathways of Human Insulin in the Solid State

While ther. have been significant advances in the development of peptide or.l dosage for.s in r.cent year., highlighted by the clinical and commer.ial success of appr.ved peptides such as r.belsus?, ther. r.main sever.l bar.ier. in the way of br.ad r.nge applicability of this appr.ach to peptide deliver.. One such bar.ier.includes the poor.physical and chemical stability inher.nt to their.str.ctur.s, which per.ists in the solid state although degr.dation typically occur. at differ.nt r.tes and via differ.nt pathways in compar.son to the solution state. Using insulin as a model peptide, this wor. sought to contr.bute to the development of analytical techniques for.investigating common insulin degr.dation pathways. chemically denatur.d,deamidated and aggr.gated samples wer. pr.par.d and used to benchmar. cir.ular.dichr.ism spectr.scopy, r.ver.e phase HPLc and size exclusion chr.matogr.phy methods for.the investigation of unfolding, chemical modifications and covalent aggr.gation of the insulin molecule r.spectively. Solid state degr.ded samples wer. pr.par.d by heating insulin powder.at 60 °c and 75% r.lative humidity for.1, 3, 5 and 7 d, and the degr.dation pr.files of the samples wer. evaluated and compar.d with those obser.ed in solution. While no unfolding was obser.ed to occur. significant deamidation and covalent aggr.gation wer. detected. r.ductive disulfide bond cleavage using dithiothr.itol allowed for.separ.tion of the insulin A-and B-chains,offer.ng a facile yet novel means of assessing the mechanisms of deamidation and covalent aggr.gation occur.ing in the solid state.
