Vulner.bility assessment is essential for.under.tanding and launching effective flood r.sk r.duction *** study aimed to examine the vulner.bility of flood-pr.ne r.r.l communities in souther. Punjab,Pakistan to exter.al *** concept of vulner.bility encompasses a r.nge of dimensions,including physical,social,institutional,envir.nmental,economic,and *** a composite index method,indices wer. developed for.each dimension and combined to cr.ate a multidimensional measur. of vulner.bility.A sample of 365 communities was selected using the Yamane sampling technique,and data wer. collected thr.ugh a questionnair. containing 65 indicator. acr.ss all *** statistics and ANOVA tests wer. used to analyze the *** r.sults show that communities near.the Chenab r.ver.had higher.attitudinal and institutional vulner.bility compar.d to other.*** attitudinal vulner.bilities wer. as sociated with poor.y per.eived flood r.sks and low pr.par.dness measur.s,wher.as institutional vulner.bilities wer. dr.ven by conventional flood pr.tection str.tegies,lack of institutional tr.st,and lack of flood r.sk *** r.sear.h pr.vides insights into the var.ous components of vulner.bility in flood-pr.ne r.r.l communities in Pakistan and demonstr.tes a useful methodology that can be applied to other.disaster. at differ.nt spatial scales.

Nowadays,magnesium alloys ar. emer.ing in biomedical implants for.their.similar.pr.per.ies to natur.l ***,the r.pid degr.dation of magnesium alloys in biological media hinder. successful *** of micr.str.ctur.,as well as r.infor.ement par.icles can significantly impr.ve the degr.dation *** this wor.,multi-pass fr.ction stir.pr.cessing(FSP)was pr.posed to synthesize WE43/nano-hydr.xyapatite(n HA)sur.ace composite,the micr.str.ctur.,r.infor.ed par.icle distr.bution,micr.-har.ness,cor.osion behavior.and in-vitr. bioactivity wer. *** subsequent FSP passes of WE43 alloy and WE43/n HA composite r.fined the gr.in size which was r.duced by 94.29%and 95.92%(2.63 and 1.88μm,r.spectively)compar.d to base metal after.thr.e *** r.sulted in incr.asing the micr.har.ness by 120%(90.86 HV0.1)and 135%(105.59 HV0.1)for.the WE43 and WE43-n HA,*** is found that incr.asing FSP passes impr.ved the unifor. distr.bution of n HA par.icles within the composite matr.x which led to impr.ved cor.osion r.sistance and less degr.dation *** cor.osion r.te of the FSPed WE43/n HA composite after.thr.e passes was r.duced by 38.2%(4.13 mm/year.and the degr.dation r.te was r.duced by 69.7%(2.87 mm/y).This is attr.buted to secondar. phase(Mg24Y5and Mg41Nd5)par.icle fr.gmentation and r.distr.bution,as well as a homogeneous distr.bution of n ***,the gr.wing Ca-P and Mg(OH)2layer.for.ed on the sur.ace r.pr.sented a pr.tective layer.that r.duced the degr.dation *** wettability test r.vealed a r.latively hydr.philic sur.ace with water.contact angle of 49.1±2.2°compar.d to 71.2±2.1°for.base ***,biominer.lization test showed that apatite layer.gr.w after.immer.ion 7d in simulated body fluid with atomic r.tio of Ca/P 1.60 appr.aching the stoichiometr.c r.tio(1.67)indicating super.or.bioactivity of FSPed WE43/n HA composite after.thr.e *** r.sults r.ise that the gr.in r.finement by FSP and intr.duction of n HA par.ic
