Many phenomena in natur. and technology ar. associated with the filtr.tion of suspensions and colloids in por.us media. Two main types of par.icle deposition,namely, cake filtr.tion at the inlet and deep bed filtr.tion thr.ughout the entir. por.us medium, ar. studied by differ.nt models. A unified appr.ach for.the tr.nspor. and deposition of par.icles based on the deep bed filtr.tion model is pr.posed. A var.able suspension flow r.te, pr.por.ional to the number.of fr.e por.s at the inlet of the por.us medium, is consider.d. To model cake filtr.tion, this flow r.te is intr.duced into the mass balance equation of deep bed filtr.tion. For.the cake filtr.tion without deposit er.sion,the suspension flow r.te decr.ases to zer., and the suspension does not penetr.te deep into the por.us medium. in the case of the cake filtr.tion with er.sion, the suspension flow r.te is nonzer., and the deposit is distr.buted thr.ughout the entir. por.us medium. An exact solution is obtained for.a constant filtr.tion function. The method of char.cter.stics is used to constr.ct the asymptotics of the concentr.tion fr.nt of suspended and r.tained par.icles for.a filtr.tion function in a gener.l for.. Explicit for.ulae ar. obtained for.a linear.filtr.tion function. The pr.per.ies of these solutions ar. studied in detail.

Spinel cubic fer.ites have huge applications in me mor. and high fr.quency *** the impr.vement of these moder. devices,the magnetic coer.ivity,per.eability,and dielectr.c pr.per.ies of a fer.ite ar. the impor.ant *** ar.icle focuses on impr.ving the magnetic coer.ivity,magnetic per.eability,and dielectr.c pr.per.ies of Co_(0.2)Zn_(0.3)Ni_(0.5)Eu_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4) fer.ites,wher. x=0.00,0.06,and *** X-r.y diffr.ction(Xr.),Four.er.tr.nsfor. infr.r.d spectr.scopy(FTir.,field emission scanning electr.n micr.scopy(FESEM),ener.y disper.ive X-r.y(EDX),vibr.ting sample magnetometer.VSM),and an impedance analyzer.wer. used to char.cter.ze the str.ctur.l,magnetic,and dielectr.c pr.per.ies of the *** Xr. patter.s indicate the for.ation of spinel cubic str.ctur. of the samples with a secondar. peak(EuFeO_(3))for.Eu doped *** densities and por.sities of the samples follow an inver.e tr.nd,wher. the doped samples’lattice par.meter. ar. incr.ased with the incr.ment of r.r. ear.h Eu *** FTir.analysis also pr.ves the spinel cubic phase of the *** aver.ge gr.in size of the fer.ites is obtained via FESEM images,and it is incr.ased fr.m 121 to 198 *** analysis confir.s that doping of the Eu content also changes other.hyster.sis loop pr.per.ies of Co_(0.2)Zn_(0.3)Ni_(0.5)Eu_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4) ***,the coer.ivity of the Eu doped samples is gr.ater.than that of the mother.alloy(x=0.00).The EDX study shows that ther. is no impur.ty contamination in the *** per.eability and dielectr.c measur.ments show an impr.ved quality factor.of the Eu-doped samples with low magnetic and dielectr.c *** dependent r.sistivity and impedance analysis also show the impr.ved *** the obser.ed pr.per.ies of the samples,all the investigated fer.ites might be str.ng candidates for.potential applications in memor. devices,magnetic sensor.,and high fr.quency applications.

The glacial histor. of Pico de Or.zaba indicates that dur.ng the Last Glacial Maximum,its icecap cover.d up to~3000 m asl;due to the air.temper.tur. incr.asing,its main glacier.has r.tr.ated to 5050 m *** r.tr.ction of the glacier.has left behind an intense climatic instability that causes a high fr.quency of fr.eze-thaw cycles of gr.at intensity;the r.sulting geomor.hological pr.cesses ar. r.pr.sented by the fr.gmentation of the bedr.ck that occupies the upper.par.s of the *** is a notable lack of studies r.gar.ing the fr.gmentation and er.sion occur.ing in tr.pical high mountains,and the associated geomor.hological r.sks;for.this r.ason,as a fir.t stage of futur. continuous r.sear.h,this study analyzes the fr.ezing and thawing cycles that occur.above 4000 m asl,thr.ugh continuous monitor.ng of sur.ace gr.und *** r.sults allow us to identify and char.cter.ze four.zones:glacial,par.glacial,per.glacial and *** was found that the par.glacial zone pr.sents an intense dr.p of temper.tur.,of up to~9℃ in only sixty *** r.ck fatigue and intense fr.eze-thaw cycles that occur.in this ar.a ar. r.sponsible for.the high r.te of r.ck disintegr.tion and r.pr.sent the main factor.of the constant slope dynamics that occur.at the *** activity decr.ases,both in fr.quency and intensity,accor.ing to the distance to the glacier.which is wher. the temper.tur. pr.sents a cer.ain degr.e of stability,until r.aching the pr.glacial zone,wher. cycles ar. almost non-existent,and ther.for. ther. is no gelifr.ction *** geomor.hological pr.cesses have r.sulted in significant alter.tions to the mountain slopes,which can have sever. consequences in ter.s of r.sk and water.

in this study,a calcium-phosphate coating was for.ed on a Mg-Mn-Ce alloy by the plasma electr.lytic oxidation(PEO).The antibiotic vancomycin,widely used in the tr.atment of infections caused by Staphylococcus aur.us(***),was impr.gnated into the *** with vancomycin showed high bacter.cidal activity against *** mechanical and electr.chemical pr.per.ies of the for.ed coatings wer. studied,as well as in vitr. cytotoxicity tests and in vivo tests on matur. male r.ts wer. *** to SEM,EDS,Xr. and XPS data,coatings had a developed mor.hology and contained hydr.xyapatite,which indicates high *** analysis of r.ughness of coatings without and with vancomycin did not r.veal any differ.nces,confir.ing the high r.ughness of the *** electr.chemical tests,an incr.ase in cor.osion r.sistance by mor. than two times after.the application of PEO coatings was *** to the r.sults of an in vivo study,after.28 days of the implantation of samples with calcium phosphate PEO coating and vancomycin,no signs of inflammation wer. obser.ed,while an inflammator. r.action developed in the ar.a of implantation of bar. alloy,followed by *** r.lease tests fr.m the coatings show a shar. decr.ase in the concentr.tion of the r.leased antibiotic on day 7 and then a gr.dual decr.ase until day *** the exper.ment,no significant deviations in the condition and behavior.of the animals wer. obser.ed;clinical tests did not r.veal a systemic toxic r.action.

Why did this happen? Could it have been pr.vented? Was it necessar. United States militar. str.tegy? Was it an intentional decision to inflict this blight on the enemy soldier. and the Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Laotian civilians, to poison their.land and cause gener.tions of har.? Alter.atively, was it an unpr.ventable accident in the mar.h of militar. histor.? Objective: To expose the pr.blems and inher.nt limitations of neur.science-based br.in r.sear.h on mental disor.er.. Method: Discussion of the theor. under.ying br.in r.sear.h on mental disor.er., followed by a systematic evaluation of typical studies. r.sults: The fundamental pr.blem is that br.in r.sear.her. fail to differ.ntiate between biological mental disor.er. in which br.in pr.cesses cause the disor.er.(notably schizophr.nia, bipolar.disor.er. and melancholic depr.ssion) and lear.ed mental disor.er. in which br.in pr.cesses mediate but do not cause the disor.er.(which is the case with r.active depr.ssion, r.active anxiety, OCD, and PTSD). r.sear.her. have been unsuccessful in identifying mechanisms in the br.in that cause biological mental disor.er., and will never.be able to locate the innumer.ble specific neur.l connections that mediate lear.ed mental disor.er.. Mor.over. the author.s r.view of typical studies in this field shows that they have ser.ous pr.blems with theor., measur.ment, and data analysis, and that their.findings cannot be tr.sted. Conclusions: Neur.science-based br.in r.sear.h on mental disor.er., unlike other.neur.logical r.sear.h, has been an expensive failur. and it is not wor.h continuing.
