Study on manufacturing freeform surface parts in micro EDM based on skin effect theory

Micro fabrication of freeform surface parts made of hard and brittle materials is always a tough job in micro machining field. This paper tries to fabricate freeform surface feature by using smooth surface of tool electrode after tool wear in micro EDM. According to the skin effect theory, the tool end shape in the stage of uniform wear can be changed by adjusting the frequency of discharge pulse. The electrical energy distributing rule of tool electrode section in rC circuit has been investigated under the influence of skin effect, and the law of spark location change has been summarized. The experimental studies demonstrate that different shapes of tool ends can be achieved by varying the pulse frequencies of discharge power supply. Additionally, a micro part of freeform surface feature with high precision and good surface quality has been successfully obtained by micro EDM through adopting the smooth surface after tool wear. © by HIGH TECHNOLOGY LETTErS PrESS.

This paper presents an intelligent controller employing Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) for extracting maximum power from the wind energy conversion system even during the change in the wind speed conditions with improved quality of power. The proposed induction generator with multilevel inverter along with intelligent controller based Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique aims at integrating winds system with improved maximum power injection and minimum harmonic issues. The proposed method will improve the power quality which is delivered to the grid in terms of harmonic, and inject the maximum power to the grid. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy, ANFIS controller, Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) and without MPPT controller have been presented and tested using MATLAB/Simulink environment.

The authors report clinical correlations of single photon emission computerized tomography (SPECT) findings in reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy (rPL). These are observations that have not received wide attention in literature. A 31-year-old hypertensive gentleman, on discontinuing antihypertensive medications, presented with vomiting, headache, focal motor to bilateral tonic-clonic seizures, altered sensorium, right gaze palsy and right hemiparesis. Accelerated hypertension was noted and he improved well with antihypertensive and anticonvulsant therapy. While cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MrI) revealed extensive bilateral lesions, SPECT imaging revealed perfusion defects involving bilateral basal ganglia, left parieto-occipital, right cerebellar and right occipital regions, which corresponded with clinical deficits on examination. While MrI is the standard of care for the evaluation of rPL, this case suggests that SPECT abnormalities may be better localized to the pathogenic lesions. Furthermore, this may begin to explain the pathophysiology of injury in rPL.

The authors report the first case of thrombolysis in a patient already receiving both aspirin and prasugrel following a recent ischemic coronary event. A 55-year-old gentleman was treated for inferior wall myocardial infarction with aspirin, prasugrel and percutaneous angioplasty of right coronary artery. Three days following the procedure he developed acute ischemic stroke due to a left middle cerebral artery infarction with a National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) of 24 and was treated with alteplase. Therapy was interrupted after completion of 29 mg (for a body weight of 65 kg) dose due to oral bleeding. Fifteen minutes post thrombolysis NIHSS was 5 and dropped to zero after 12 h. This report highlights the benefits of alteplase in the context of several relative contraindications like the setting of acute myocardial infarction treated with percutaneous intervention and high NIHSS.

目的:探讨帚状江蓠乙醇提取物对小鼠Ehrlich腹水癌的抑制作用。方法:通过向小鼠腹腔注射Ehrlich腹水癌细胞建立肿瘤模型。为了解帚状江蓠乙醇提取物的口服急性毒性,在造模后24 h,给予实验小鼠口服不同剂量的帚状江蓠乙醇提取物,观察小鼠存活时间。其次,通过检测Ehrlich腹水癌荷瘤小鼠生存时间、体外细胞毒性、血清生物学指标以及肝脏酶水平等来评估帚状江蓠的抗肿瘤作用。结果:与模型对照组相比,帚状江蓠乙醇提取物不仅抑制了肿瘤的形成,也延长了Ehrlich腹水癌荷瘤小鼠的生存时间(Prlich腹水癌荷瘤小鼠各项生物学指标及肝脏酶水平的变化。结论:本研究表明,海藻类植物帚状江蓠具有抗肿瘤作用,且其抗肿瘤的效果可能与服用剂量有关。
