Protein phosphorylation is a well-established post-translational mechanism that regulates protein functions and metabolic *** is known that several plant mitochondrial proteins are phosphorylated in a reversible ***,the identities of the protein kinases/phosphatases involved in this mech-anism and their roles in the regulation of the tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle remain *** this study,we isolated and characterized plants lacking two mitochondrially targeted phosphatases(Sal2 and PP2c63)along with pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase(PDK),Protein-protein interaction analysis,quantitative phos-phoproteomics,and enzymatic analyses revealed that PDK specifically regulates pyruvate dehydrogenase complex(PDC),while PP2c63 nonspecifically regulates *** recombinant PP2c63 and Sal2 proteins were added to mitochondria isolated from mutant plants,protein-protein interaction and enzymatic analyses showed that PP2c63 directly phosphorylates and modulates the activity of PDC,while Sal2 only indirectly affects TCA cycle *** of steady-state metabolite levels and fluxes in the mutant lines further revealed that these phosphatases regulate flux through the TCA cycle,and that altered metabolism in the sa/2 pp2c63 double mutant compromises plant *** results are discussed in the context of current models of the control of respiration in plants.

Volume negative ion production relies on a magnetic filter(mF),where the plasma downstream of the mF is characterized by a strip-like pattern that consists of a bright and dense plasma *** this work,we study,in a radio-frequency plasma source,the effects of operating pressure on this *** investigation,conducted using a Langmuir probe,shows that the plasma uniformity might be controlled through the gas ***,the operating pressure determines on which hemi-cylinder(side of magnetic field lines)the strip *** side inversion of the high-density plasma hemi-cylinder is due to an inversion of an ambipolar electric field that changes the E?×?B drift direction.

Nonlinear dynamic modeling of planar moving Timoshenko beam considering non-rigid non-elastic axial effects

Due to the importance of vibration effects on the functional accuracy of mechanical systems,this research aims to develop a precise model of a nonlinearly vibrating single-link mobile flexible *** manipulator consists of an elastic arm,a rotary motor,and a rigid carrier,and undergoes general in-plane rigid body motion along with elastic transverse *** accurately model the elastic behavior,Timoshenko’s beam theory is used to describe the flexible arm,which accounts for rotary inertia and shear deformation *** applying Newton’s second law,the nonlinear governing equations of motion for the manipulator are derived as a coupled system of ordinary differential equations(ODEs)and partial differential equations(PDEs).Then,the assumed mode method(Amm)is used to solve this nonlinear system of governing equations with appropriate shape *** assumed modes can be obtained after solving the characteristic equation of a Timoshenko beam with clamped boundary conditions at one end and an attached mass/inertia at the *** addition,the effect of the transverse vibration of the inextensible arm on its axial behavior is *** the axial rigidity,the effect makes the rigid body dynamics invalid for the axial behavior of the ***,numerical simulations are conducted to evaluate the performance of the developed model,and the results are compared with those obtained by the finite element *** comparison confirms the validity of the proposed dynamic model for the *** to the mentioned features,this model can be reliable for investigating the system’s vibrational behavior and implementing vibration control algorithms.

Nuclear radiation shielding effectiveness and corrosion behavior of some steel alloys for nuclear reactor systems

Different types of nuclear parameters and corrosion behavior were deduced for carbon steel(AISI 1018),austenitic(304 SS),and duplex(2507 SS)stainless steel *** types of neutron energies as well as nine gamma ray energy lines(121.78-1407.92 keV)were used to evaluate the macroscopic neutron cross-sections(∑,cm^-1)and mass attenuation coefficients[σ,cm^2·g^-1)of gamma ray *** corrosion behavior was investigated using different electrochemical *** results showed that the stainless-steel alloys had a good attitude than that of carbon steel alloy for neutron and gamma ray parameters,especially the duplex stainless *** calculated values of mass attenuation coefficient using WinXcom computer program(Version 3.1),exhibited a very good agreement with the experimental values of that ***,the results indicated that duplex stainless-steel exhibited corrosion resistance higher than 304 SS and AISI 1018 steel alloys.

Control over hysteresis curves and thresholds of optical bistability in different semiconductor double quantum wells

The effects of optical field on the phenomenon of optical bistability(OB) are investigated in a K-type semiconductor double quantum well(SDQW) under various parametric conditions. It is shown that the OB threshold can be manipulated by increasing the intensity of coupling field. The dependence of the shift of OB hysteresis curve on probe wavelength detuning is then explored. In order to demonstrate controllability of the OB in this SDQW, we compare the OB features of three different configurations which could arise in this SDQW scheme, i.e., K-type, Y-type, and inverted Y-type systems. The controllability of this semiconductor nanostructure medium makes the presented OB scheme more valuable for applications in all-optical switches, information storage, and logic circuits of all optical information processing.

robust H_∞ control for uncertain markovian jump systems with mixed delays

We scrutinize the problem of robust H∞control for a class of markovian jump uncertain systems with interval timevarying and distributed delays. The markovian jumping parameters are modeled as a continuous-time finite-state markov chain. The main aim is to design a delay-dependent robust H∞control synthesis which ensures the mean-square asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional（LKF）, sufficient conditions for delay-dependent robust H∞control criteria are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities（LmIs）. The advantage of the proposed method is illustrated by numerical examples. The results are also compared with the existing results to show the less conservativeness.

Effect of substrate temperature on the morphological,structural,and optical properties of rF sputtered Ge(1-x)Snx films on Si substrate

In this study, Ge（1-x）Snx alloy films are co-sputtered on Si（100） substrates using rF magnetron sputtering at different substrate temperatures. Scanning electron micrographs, atomic force microscopy（AFm）, raman spectroscopy, and x-ray photoemission spectroscopy（XPS） are conducted to investigate the effect of substrate temperature on the structural and optical properties of grown Ge Sn alloy films. AFm results show that rmS surface roughness of the films increases from 1.02 to 2.30 nm when raising the substrate temperature. This increase could be due to Sn surface segregation that occurs when raising the substrate temperature. raman spectra exhibits the lowest FWHm value and highest phonon intensity for a film sputtered at 140℃. The spectra show that decreasing the deposition temperature to 140℃ improves the crystalline quality of the alloy films and increases nanocrystalline phase formation. The results of raman spectra and XPS confirm Ge–Sn bond formation. The optoelectronic characteristics of fabricated metal-semiconductor-metal photodetectors on sputtered samples at room temperature（rT） and 140℃ are studied in the dark and under illumination. The sample sputtered at 140℃ performs better than the rT sputtered sample.

Singlet Oxygen Generation and Photoinduced Charge Separation of Tetra Polyethyleneglycol Functionalized Zinc Phthalocyanine-Fullerene Dyad

Utilization of polyethyleneglycol （PEG） functionalized zinc phthalocyanine, （PEG）4ZnPc in （i） singlet oxygen generation, and （ii） in building energy harvesting donor-acceptor systems using fullerene, C60 as an acceptor via the well-known metal-ligand axial coordination approach is reported. The （PEG）4ZnPe was found to be capable of producing singlet oxygen with a quantum yield, ooa of 0.77 in toluene, a value higher than that obtained for pristine （t-bu）4ZnPc （φ△=0.54） carrying no PEG groups, revealing its usefulness in photodynamic therapy applications. Spectroscopic studies revealed efficient binding of phenylimidazole functionalized fullerene, C60 Im with l ： 1 stoichiometry to （PEG）4ZnPc. Binding constant K for the formation of （PEG）4ZnPc：ImC60 dyad was found to be 6 × 103 m 1 revealing moderate stability. Geometric and electronic studies of the dyad was arrived by B3LYP/3-21G（＊） method. The HOmO level was found to be on zinc phthalocyanine entity while the LUmO level was found to be on the C60 entity suggesting formation of （PEG）4ZnPc＊＋：ImC60＊ charge separated state during the process of electron transfer reaction. redox studies on the （PEG）4ZnPc：ImC60 dyad enabled accurate determination of the oxidation and reduction potentials of the donor-acceptor system, and to evaluate free-energy changes associated for the charge separation process. Kinetics of photoinduced charge separation and recombination in the （PEG）4ZnPc：ImC60 dyad was investigated using femtosecond transient absorption studies. relatively long-lived charge separated states were confirmed for the dyad suggesting their potential usefulness in energy harvesting applications.

Effects of combined pre- and post-natal protein deprivation on the myenteric plexus of the esophagus of weanling rats:A histochemical,quantitative and ultrastructural study

AIm: To evaluate the effects of protein deprivation on the myenteric plexus of the esophagus of weanling rats. mETHODS: Pregnant female Wistar rats were divided into 2 groups: nourished (N),receiving normal diet,and undernourished (D),receiving a protein-deprived diet,which continued after birth. At twenty-one days of age,13 esophagi from each group were submitted to light microscopy and morphometrical analysis employing the NADH diaphorase,NADPH diaphorase and acetylcholinesterase techniques. Three other esophagi from each group were evaluated with transmission electron microscopy (TEm). rESULTS: In both the NADH- and the NADPH-reactive mounts,the neurons of the N mounts were more intensely stained,while in the D esophagi only the larger neurons were reactive. many myenteric neurons of N were intensely reactive for AChE activity but only a few neurons of D exhibited these aspects. Ultrastructural analysis revealed that the granular reticulum of N showed large numbers of ribosomes aligned on the outer surface of its regularly arranged membrane while the ribosomes of D were disposed in clusters. The chromatin was more homogeneously scattered inside the neuron nucleus of N as well as the granular component of the nucleolus was evidently more developed in this group. Statistically significant differences between N and D groups were detected in the total estimated number of neurons stained by the NADPH technique. CONCLUSION: The morphological and quantitative data shows that feeding with protein-deprived diet in 21-d old rats induces a delay in the development of the myenteric neurons of the esophagus.

True ternary fission and Tin-accompanied ternary fission of 242Pu are studied by using the'Three Cluster model'.True ternary fission is considered as a formation of heavy fragments in the region 28≤Z1,Z2,Z3≤38 with comparable *** possible fission channels are predicted by the potential-energy *** potentials,Q-values and relative yields for all possible fragmentations in equatorial and collinear configurations are calculated and *** is found that ternary fission with formation of a double magic nucleus like 132Sn is more probable than the other ***,the kinetic energies of the fragments for the group Z1=32,Z2=32 and Z3=30 are calculated for all combinations in the collinear geometry as a sequential decay.
