Mathematical modelling of ball and plate system with experimental and correlation function-based model validation

The ball and plate system is an inherently nonlinear under actuated benchmark system used for validating the performance of various control schemes. A mathematical model depicting the dynamics close to that of the system is very much required for such a test bed. In this correspondence, the complete nonlinear model, a simplified nonlinear model, and a linearized model of the ball and plate system are developed. The system comprises a ball and plate mechanism and a rotary servo unit. The ball and plate mechanism is modelled using the Euler–Lagrange method, whereas the rotary servo subsystem is modelled from the first principles. The nonlinear model of the combined system is developed by including the dynamics of the servo motor with gear and rolling resistance between the ball and the plate. The simplified nonlinear model of the system is obtained with suitable assumptions. The model is linearized around the operating point using the Jacobian. The validity of the developed models is investigated through correlation function analysis. The open-loop response of the three models, viz., nonlinear, simplified nonlinear, and linearized models, is analyzed in the MATLAB/Simulink platform. Since the open-loop system is unstable, the experimental validation of the model is performed with a double-loop PSO (particle swarm optimization) PID control scheme.

Objective:Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is currently the gold standard for treating symptomatic gallstone *** its success,approximately 10%of patients may experience persistent biliary symptoms,leading to the post-cholecystectomy syndrome.A remnant gallbladder with cystic duct or bile duct stones is one of the causes of this *** objective of this study was to shed light on the clinical manifestations,evaluation,therapeutic strategies,and outcomes associated with laparoscopic management of symptomatic remnant ***:This was a retrospective study,conducted over a five-year period(January 2017 to December 2022)at Apollo Hospitals in South *** patients who underwent laparoscopic completion cholecystectomy for a remnant gall bladder were *** following data were collected:patient demographics,symptoms,preoperative investigations,intraoperative details and post operative ***:In total,36 patients were included and *** majority of patients were male(25,69.4%),with a mean age of 50.7±12.1 *** most common presentation was pain in the upper abdomen or right upper quadrant region(24,66.7%).The laparoscopic approach was attempted in all patients,with a success rate of 94.4%.Two patients required conversion to open *** fistula to the colon was observed in one *** was observed in 7 patients(19.4%),and stone clearance was successfully achieved using endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography in all patients ***:Incomplete gall bladder removal either intentionally or unintentionally leaves a remnant gall bladder that is at risk for stone formation and *** who have this clinical entity with symptoms require a redo or complete cholecystectomy,a complex procedure associated with certain *** study highlights the feasibility and safety of laparoscopic completion cholecystectomy for the management of remnant gallbladder

The heat transfer through a concave permeable fin is analyzed by the local thermal non-equilibrium(LTNE) model. The governing dimensional temperature equations for the solid and fluid phases of the porous extended surface are modeled, and then are nondimensionalized by suitable dimensionless terms. Further, the obtained nondimensional equations are solved by the clique polynomial method(CPM). The effects of several dimensionless parameters on the fin's thermal profiles are shown by graphical illustrations. Additionally, the current study implements deep neural structures to solve physics-governed coupled equations, and the best-suited hyperparameters are attained by comparison with various network combinations. The results of the CPM and physicsinformed neural network(PINN) exhibit good agreement, signifying that both methods effectively solve the thermal modeling problem.

Traditional dual-ion lithium salts have been widely used in solid polymer lithium-metal batteries(LMBs).Nevertheless, concentration polarization caused by uncontrolled migration of free anions has severely caused the growth of lithium dendrites. Although single-ion conductor polymers(SICP) have been developed to reduce concentration polarization, the poor ionic conductivity caused by low carrier concentration limits their application. Herein, a dual-salt quasi-solid polymer electrolyte(QSPE), containing the SICP network as a salt and traditional dual-ion lithium salt, is designed for retarding the movement of free anions and simultaneously providing sufficient effective carriers to alleviate concentration polarization. The dual salt network of this designed QSPE is prepared through in-situ crosslinking copolymerization of SICP monomer, regular ionic conductor, crosslinker with the presence of the dual-ion lithium salt,delivering a high lithium-ion transference number(0.75) and satisfactory ionic conductivity(1.16 × 10^(-3) S cm^(-1) at 30 ℃). Comprehensive characterizations combined with theoretical calculation demonstrate that polyanions from SICP exerts a potential repulsive effect on the transport of free anions to reduce concentration polarization inhibiting lithium dendrites. As a consequence, the Li||LiFePO_4 cell achieves a long-cycle stability for 2000 cycles and a 90% capacity retention at 30 ℃. This work provides a new perspective for reducing concentration polarization and simultaneously enabling enough lithiumions migration for high-performance polymer LMBs.

In a multi-stage manufacturing system,defective components are generated due to deteriorating machine parts and failure to install the feed *** these circumstances,the system requires inspection counters to distinguish imperfect items and takes a few discreet decisions to produce impeccable *** the prioritisation of employee appreciation and working on reward is one of the important policies to improve *** we look at the multistage manufacturing system as an M/PH/1 queue model and rewards are given for using certain inspection strategies to produce the quality items.A matrix analytical method is proposed to explain a continuous-time Markov process in which the reward points are given to the strategy of inspection in each state of the *** constructing the value functions of this dynamic programming model,we derive the optimal policy and the optimal average reward of the entire system in the long *** addition,we obtain the percentage of time spent on each system state for the probability of conformity and non-conformity of the product over the long *** results of our computational experiments and case study suggest that the average reward increases due to the actions are taken at each decision epoch for rework and disposal of the non-conformity items.

Several popular time-frequency techniques,including the Wigner-Ville distribution,smoothed pseudo-Wigner-Ville distribution,wavelet transform,synchrosqueezing transform,Hilbert-Huang transform,and Gabor-Wigner transform,are investigated to determine how well they can identify damage to *** this work,a synchroextracting transform(SET)based on the short-time Fourier transform is proposed for estimating post-earthquake structural *** performance of SET for artificially generated signals and actual earthquake signals is examined with existing *** other tested techniques,SET improves frequency resolution to a great extent by lowering the influence of smearing along the time-frequency ***,interpretation and readability with the proposed method are improved,and small changes in the time-varying frequency characteristics of the damaged buildings are easily detected through the SET method.

With the emergence of the Internet of things(IoT),embedded systems have now changed its dimensionality and it is applied in various domains such as healthcare,home automation and mainly Industry *** Embedded IoT devices are mostly *** has been analyzed that usage of Dynamic random-Access Memory(DrAM)centered core memory is considered the most significant source of high energy utility in Embedded IoT *** achieving the low power consumption in these devices,Non-volatile memory(NVM)devices such as Parameter random Access Memory(PrAM)and Spin-Transfer Torque Magnetic randomAccess Memory(STT-rAM)are becoming popular among main memory alternatives in embedded IoT devices because of their features such as high thickness,byte addressability,high scalability and low power ***,Non-volatile random-Access Memory(NVrAM)is widely adopted to save the data in the embedded IoT ***,flash memories have a limited lifetime,so it is mandatory to adopt intelligent optimization in managing the NVrAM-based embedded devices using an intelligent controller while considering the endurance *** address this challenge,the paper proposes a powerful,lightweight machine learning-based workload-adaptive write schemes of the NVrAM,which can increase the lifetime and reduce the energy consumption of the *** proposed system consists of three phases like Workload Characterization,Intelligent Compression and Memory *** phases are used for distributing the write-cycles to NVrAM,following the energy-time consumption and number of data *** extensive experimentations are carried out using the IoMT(Internet of Medical things)benchmark in which the different endurance factors such as application delay,energy and write-time factors were evaluated and compared with the different existing algorithms.
