Prediction of Flash Flood Susceptibility of Hilly Terrain Using Deep Neural Network:A Case Study of Vietnam

Flash floods are one of the most dangerous natural disasters,especially in hilly terrain,causing loss of life,property,and infrastructures and sudden disruption of *** types of floods are mostly associated with landslides and erosion of roads within a short *** of Vietnamis hilly and mountainous;thus,the problem due to flash flood is severe and requires systematic studies to correctly identify flood susceptible areas for proper landuse planning and traffic *** this study,three Machine Learning(ML)methods namely Deep Learning Neural Network(DL),Correlation-based FeatureWeighted Naive Bayes(CFWNB),and Adaboost(AB-CFWNB)were used for the development of flash flood susceptibility maps for hilly road section(115 km length)of National Highway(NH)-6 inHoa Binh province,*** the proposedmodels,88 past flash flood events were used together with 14 flash floods affecting topographical and geo-environmental *** performance of themodels was evaluated using standard statisticalmeasures including Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)Curve,Area Under Curve(AUC)and Root Mean Square Error(RMSE).The results revealed that all the models performed well(AUC>0.80)in predicting flash flood susceptibility zones,but the performance of the DL model is the best(AUC:0.972,RMSE:0.352).Therefore,the DL model can be applied to develop an accurate flash flood susceptibility map of hilly terrain which can be used for proper planning and designing of the highways and other infrastructure facilities besides landuse management of the area.

The cross-section for the γe-→Ze-→l-l+e- scattering at the LHeC

A measurement of the Z production cross-section in γe^(-) collisions at the Large Hadron^(-)electron Collider(LHeC) is presented for comparison to that at the International Linear Collider(ILC).The total cross-section depends strongly on the polarization of the initial and final e^(-)beams and the electron beam energy Ee;the energy of the proton beam was set to E_(p)=7 *** results show that the total cross^(-)section in γe^(-)→Ze^(-)→l^(-)l+e^(-) at the LHeC is much larger than that at the ILC.

NOx emissions cause many negative impacts on the living *** photocatalysis of semiconductors is superior for nitric oxide(NO)degradation due to their low redox *** this report,we combine SnO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4)heterojunction photocatalyst toward the high selectivity into green products under visible light *** show that SnO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4)heterojunction degraded 40.8%of NO,which is 1.6 times higher than that of g-C_(3)N_(4).In addition,the selectivity coefficient of SnO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4)is higher 3 times than both pure SnO_(2-x)and g-C_(3)N_(4).Furthermore,SnO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4)expresses a superior stability for NO photocatalytic-degradation after five *** scavenger trapping test results,and electron spin resonance(ESR)analysis also provide more understanding of the charge transfer mechanism of ***_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4)heterojunction shows a high removal efficiency of NO gas,making it an up-and-coming environmental treatment candidate.

this paper presents the calibration of a neutron dose rate meter and the evaluation of its calibration factors(CFs)in several neutron standard fields(i.e.,two standard fields with bare sources of252Cf and241Am-Be,and five simulated workplace fields with241Am-Be moderated sources).The calibration in standard fields with bare sources was conducted by following the recommendations of the ISO 8529 *** measured total neutron ambient dose equivalent rates,denoted as H*(10)tot,were analyzed to obtain direct components,denoted as H*(10)dir,using a reduced fitting *** CF was then calculated as the ratio between the conventional true value of the neutron ambient dose equivalent rate in a free field,denoted as H*(10)FF,and the value of H*(10)*** contrast,in the simulated workplace neutron fields,the calibration of the neutron dose rate meter was conducted by following the ISO 12789 *** CF was calculated as the ratio between the values of H*(10)totmeasured by a standard instrument(i.e.,Bonner sphere spectrometer)and the neutron dose rate *** CF values were obtained in the range of 0.88–*** standard uncertainties(k=1)of the CFs were determined to be in the range of approximately 6.6–13.1%.

The observed analysis on the wave spectra of Hurricane Juan (2003)

Hurricane Juan provides an excellent opportunity to probe into the detailed wave spectral patterns and spectral parameters of a hurricane system, with enough wave spectral observations around Juan＇s track in the deep ocean and shallow coastal water. In this study, Hurricane Juan and wave observation stations around Juan＇s track are introduced. Variations of wave composition are discussed and analyzed based on time series of one-dimensional frequency spectra, as well as wave steepness around Juan＇s track： before, during, and after Juan＇s passing. Wave spectral involvement is studied based on the observed one-dimensional spectra and two-dimensional spectra during the hurricane. The standardization method of the observed wave spectra during Hurricane Juan is discussed, and the standardized spectra show relatively conservative behavior, in spite of the huge variation in wave spectral energy, spectral peak, and peak frequency during this hurricane. Spectral widths＇ variation during Hurricane Juan are calculated and analyzed. A two-layer nesting WW3 model simulation is applied to simulate the one-dimensional and two-dimensional wave spectra, in order to examine WW3＇s ability in simulating detailed wave structure during Hurricane Juan.

Utilization and Satisfaction with HIV Services at 7 Provinces in Vietnam: A Cross-Sectional Study

The study was carried out to determine utilization and satisfaction with essential HIV services from HIV individuals and high-risk populations in 7 socioeconomic provinces nationwide. A cross-sectional approach was applied in the study. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews using self-report questionnaires. Findings from 2380 respondents indicated a high percentage of utilization as well as a high level of satisfaction, in particular among men who have sex with men (MSM) and female sex worker (FSW) sub-group. Needle, syringe, and condom programs had lower usage and satisfaction mean scores in comparison with other services. The proportion of people who used drugs (PWID) and participated in the needle and syringe program was 53.6%. HIV counseling and testing uptake proportion of overall respondents in the last 12 months was 82.2% while the rate of antiretroviral treatment among infected PWID was 74.9%. The level of satisfaction with treatment services was found to be higher than preventive interventions (p < 0.05). Analysis using univariable logistic regression suggested an association between some socioeconomic factors such as income, employment, educational attainment, and marital status with subjects’ satisfaction with several HIV services. Preventive services, especially needle, syringe and condom programs should be prioritized to scale up the coverage and effectiveness. Innovative approaches targeting at PWID should be promoted to increase their access to prevention programs as well as HIV care when needed.

Energy-efficient cell-association bias adjustment algorithm for ultra-dense networks

In recent years, energy efficiency has become an important topic, especially in the field of ultradense networks(UDNs). In this area, cell-association bias adjustment and small cell on/off are proposed to enhance the performance of energy efficiency in UDNs. this is done by changing the cell association relationship and turning off the extra small cells that have no users. However, the variety of cell association relationships and the switching on/off of the small cells may deteriorate some users’ data rates, leading to nonconformance to the users’ data rate requirement. Considering the discreteness and non-convexity of the energy efficiency optimization problem and the coupled relationship between cell association and scheduling during the optimization process, it is difficult to achieve an optimal cell-association bias. In this study, we optimize the network energy efficiency by adjusting the cell-association bias of small cells while satisfying the users’ data rate requirement. We propose an energy-efficient centralized Gibbs sampling based cell-association bias adjustment(CGSCA) algorithm. In CGSCA, global information such as channel state information, cell association information, and network load information need to be collected. Then, considering the overhead of the messages that are exchanged and the implementation complexity of CGSCA to obtain the global information in UDNs, we propose an energy-efficient distributed Gibbs sampling based cell-association bias adjustment(DGSCA) algorithm with a lower message-exchange overhead and implementation *** DGSCA, we derive the updated formulas for calculating the number of users in a cell and the users’ SINR. We analyze the implementation complexities(e.g., computation complexity and communication complexity) of the proposed two algorithms and other existing algorithms. Hydropower has made a significant contribution to the economic development of Vietnam,thus it is important to monitor the safety of hydropower dams for the good of the country and the *** this paper,dam horizontal displacement is analyzed and then forecasted using three methods:the multi-regression model,the seasonal integrated auto-regressive moving average(SARIMA)model and the back-propagation neural network(BPNN)merging *** monitoring data of the Hoa Binh Dam in Vietnam,including horizontal displacement,time,reservoir water level,and air temperature,are used for the *** results indicate that all of these three methods can approximately describe the trend of dam deformation despite their different forecast ***,their short-term forecasts can provide valuable references for the dam safety.

Objective:To investigate the inhibited effect of epigallocatechin-3-gallate(EGCG)on the expression of NPM1 in IMS-M2 cells harboring the NPMl ***:Cell proliferation assay was performed to test the effects of EGCG on eell growth of IMS-M2 cells harboring the NPM1 *** blot analysis were performed to test the protein expression of NPM1,AKT,those associated with ***:EGCG can down-regulate the expression of NPM1 in IMS-M2 cells harboring the ***,EGCG also suppressed the cell proliferation and induced apoptosis in IMSM2 ***:The results suggested that EGCG could be considered as a reagent for treatment of AML patients with NPM1 mutations.

Synthesis and Characterization of LiAlO<sub>2</sub>for Passive Dosimetry

Lithium aluminate (LiAlO2) powder was synthesized by sol-gel with EDTA method. The resultant powders were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM) techniques. In addition, several thermoluminescence properties of synthesized LiAlO2 powder were reported. The results from X-ray diffraction (XRD), the powder prepared by sol-gel with EDTA method showed pure γ-phase when it was calcined at >900°C. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results show that the size of the lithium aluminate particles depended strongly on calcination temperature. The linearity is observed of synthesized LiAlO2 powder by sol-gel with EDTA with regression coefficient (R2) is 0.9971.
