The explosive development of electronic devices and wireless communication technology gives rise to the issue of electromagnetic pollution,known as electromagnetic interference(EMI).The accumulation of undesirable electromagnetic radiation in space disturbs the normal function of unshielded electronic appliances and poses seriously threat to human health.Thus,the development of EMI shielding materials have emerged to solve the grim problem.Considering the complex application contexts,EMI shielding materials have evolved from traditional single-function to multi-functions to meet the ever-increasing application requirements in recent few years.This paper provides detailed insight into the current re-search status and future challenges in the advancement of polymer-based EMI shielding materials with various functions.First,the basic theory of EMI shielding,factors influencing results and the dominating characterization technologies for EMI shielding properties are summarized.Then,the comprehensive descriptions of the seven types of multifunctional EMI shields are provided with respect to their structures,fabrication methods and specific functions.Meanwhile,the corresponding critical scientific and technical issues are proposed.Based on our comprehensive analysis,the main challenges in the development of multifunctional EMI shielding materials are presented.This review aims to provide some guidance and inspire more efforts toward functional EMI shielding material research to satisfy the growing requirements for next-generation electronic systems.

Sb-based organic–inorganic hybrid metal halides(OIHMHs)with[SbCl5]2−units have been widely reported due to high photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)and occasional multiple self-trapped exciton(STE)emission bands mainly out of singlet and triplet states,and their multi-band emission is important in white light-emitting diode(WLED).However,not all these OIHMH compounds can produce both emissions out of singlet STE and triplet STE at room temperature simultaneously.It is crucial to consider how the singlet STE generates and retains to emit light at room temperature for this material’s design and application.Herein,a strategy is proposed that can significantly lift Sb halide PLQY by synthesizing two Sb-based OIHMHs using organic amine cations of different-sized and-quantity,which modulate the distance of neighboring emission centers.Therein,the occurrence of singlet STE emission is found to be closely related to the distance of[SbCl_(5)]^(2)−units and local unit distortion in the lattice.The larger distance can produce smaller local distortions,favoring the formation of the singlet STE emission band at higher energy.This is the first work to reveal the relationship between the local structure and the origin of the singlet STE emission band,providing new insights into the modulation of the Sb-based OIHMH’s emission.

Background: There are only very few reports on clinical outcomes using multi-channel applicators (MCA) for patients with endometrial cancer (EC) in China. We aimed to evaluate the clinical experience of treating intermediate-risk (IR) to high-risk (HR) stage I EC using in-house made multi-channel applicators (IH-MCA) in a single institution. Methods: Three hundred and ninety patients with stage I IR to HR EC were treated with hysterectomy and adjuvant radiotherapy from 2003 to 2015. All patients received post-operative vaginal cuff brachytherapy (VBT) alone or as a boost after external beam radiotherapy (EBRT). The prescriptions were 500 cGy per fraction for a total of 5 to 6 fractions with brachytherapy alone or 400 to 600 cGy per fraction for 2 to 3 fractions if it was combined with EBRT. Two types of applicators including a traditional rigid IH-MCA and a recent model custom-made with 3 dimension printing technology were used for treatment. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate survival rate. Results: Follow-up rate was 92.8% and the median follow-up time was 48 months (range 4–172 months). The 5-year overall survival (OS), progression-free survival, local recurrence, and distant metastasis rates for all patients were 96.3%, 92.1%, 2.9%, and 4.8% respectively. Two patients had isolated relapse in vagina outside the irradiated volume. The univariate and multivariate analysis showed that age and grade were the prognostic factors correlated with OS (hazard ratio: 0.368, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.131–1.035, P = 0.048;hazard ratio: 0.576, 95% CI: 0.347–0.958, P = 0.026,). Conclusions: For patients with IR to HR stage I EC, adjuvant VBT alone or in combination with EBRT using IH-MCA led to excellent survival and recurrence rates. Age and grade were the prognostic factors correlated with OS.

Background:Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)is an autoimmune disease under genetic control.Growing evidences support the genetic predisposition ofHLA-DRB1 gene polymorphisms to SLE,yet the results are not often reproducible.The purpose of this study was to assess the association of two polymorphisms ofHLA-DRB1 gene (HLA-DR3and HLA-DR15)with the risk of SLE via a comprehensive meta-analysis. Methods:This study complied with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement.Case-control studies on HLA-DRB1 and SLE were searched from PubMed,Elsevier Science,Springer Link,Medline,and Cochrane Library database as of June 2018.Analysis was based on the random-effects model using STATA software version 14.0. Results:A total of 23studies were retained for analysis,including 5261cases and 9838controls.Overall analysis revealed that HLA-DR3 and HLA-DR15 polymorphisms were associated with the significant risk of SLE (odds ratio [OR]:1.60,95%confidence interval (CI):1.316-1.934,P =0.129and OR:1.68,95%CI:1.334-2.112,P =0.001,respectively).Subgroup analyses demonstrated that for both HLA-DR3and HLA-DR15polymorphisms,ethnicity was a possible source of heterogeneity.Specifically,HLA-DR3polymorphism was not associated with SLE in White populations (OR:1.60,95%CI:1.320-1.960,P =0.522)and HLA-DR15polymorphism in East Asian populations (OR:1.65,95%CI:1.248-2.173,P =0.001).In addition,source of control was another possible source for both HLA-DR3and HLA-DR15polymorphisms,with observable significance for HLA-DR3in only population-based studies (OR:1.65,95% CI:1.370-1.990,P =0.244)and for HLA-DR15in both population-based and hospital-based studies (OR:1.38,95%CI:1.078-1.760, P =0.123and OR:2.08,95%CI:1.738-2.490,P =0.881,respectively). Conclusions:HLA-DRB1 gene may be a SLE-susceptibility gene,and it shows evident ethnic heterogeneity.Further prospective validations across multiple ethnical groups are warranted.

DNAzyme has emerged as a promising gene silencer for therapeutic applications.However,DNAzymebased gene therapy against tumors is still challenged by undesired cytotoxicity in normal cells.Herein,we explored the potential application of hybridization chain reaction(HCR)for endogenous miRNA-activated DNAzyme-based gene silencing,which performing amplified signal and cellular onsite therapy in one system.The DNA probes,called HCR-tDz circuits,are designed by combining HCR and therapeutic DNAzyme(tDz).The miRNA-21 is selected as the diagnostic target for its distinctive overexpression in cancerous cells,and the HCR is employed to amplify the miR-21 recognition event as well as the tDz activation.The massively repeated DNAzyme activated by miR-21-triggered HCR is utilized to catalytically cleave early growth response-1 mRNA and implement a cellular gene-silencing strategy.Results show that HCR-tDz nanostructure enables amplified miR-21 imaging in living cells.Furthermore,this nanosystem can effectively inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells with high specificity,thus resulting in sensitive diagnostic signaling and accurate therapeutic effects.

Aerodynamic optimization of rotor airfoil based on multi-layer hierarchical constraint method

Rotor airfoil design is investigated in this paper. There are many difficulties for this highdimensional multi-objective problem when traditional multi-objective optimization methods are used. Therefore, a multi-layer hierarchical constraint method is proposed by coupling principal component analysis(PCA) dimensionality reduction and e-constraint method to translate the original high-dimensional problem into a bi-objective problem. This paper selects the main design objectives by conducting PCA to the preliminary solution of original problem with consideration of the priority of design objectives. According to the e-constraint method, the design model is established by treating the two top-ranking design goals as objective and others as variable constraints. A series of bi-objective pareto curves will be obtained by changing the variable constraints, and the favorable solution can be obtained by analyzing pareto curve spectrum. This method is applied to the rotor airfoil design and makes great improvement in aerodynamic performance. It is shown that the method is convenient and efficient, beyond which, it facilitates decision-making of the highdimensional multi-objective engineering problem.
