Verification of neutron-induced fission product yields evaluated by a tensor decompsition model in transport-burnup simulations

Neutron-induced fission is an important research object in basic ***,its product yield data are an indispensable nuclear data basis in nuclear engineering and *** fission yield tensor decomposition(FYTD)model has been developed and used to evaluate the independent fission product *** general,fission yield data are verified by the direct comparison of experimental and evaluated ***,such direct comparison cannot reflect the impact of the evaluated data on application scenarios,such as reactor transport-burnup ***,this study applies the evaluated fission yield data in transport-burnup simulation to verify their accuracy and possibility of ***,the evaluated yield data of235U and239Pu are applied in the transport-burnup simulation of a pressurized water reactor(PWR)and sodium-cooled fast reactor(SFR)for *** the reactor operation stage,the errors in pin-cell reactivity caused by the evaluated fission yield do not exceed 500 and 200 pcm for the PWR and SFR,*** errors in decay heat and135Xe and149Sm concentrations during the short-term shutdown of the PWR are all less than 1%;the errors in decay heat and activity of the spent fuel of the PWR and SFR during the temporary storage stage are all less than 2%.For the PWR,the errors in important nuclide concentrations in spent fuel,such as90Sr,137Cs,85Kr,and99Tc,are all less than 6%,and a larger error of 37%is observed *** the SFR,the concentration errors of ten important nuclides in spent fuel are all less than 16%.A comparison of various aspects reveals that the transport-burnup simulation results using the FYTD model evaluation have little difference compared with the reference results using ENDF/B-Ⅷ.0 *** proves that the evaluation of the FYTD model may have application value in reactor physical analysis.

Target dependence of isotopic cross sections in the spallation reactions^(238)U+p,d and^(9)Be at 1 A GeV

The spallation of ^(238)U is an important way to produce rare *** work aims at studying the cross sections of isotopes produced in ^(238)U+p,d and^9 Be reactions at 1 A GeV and their target dependence.(1)A physical model dependent(Bayesian neural network)BNN,which includes the details of IQMD-GEMINI++model and BNN,was developed for a more accurate evaluation of production cross *** isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics(IQMD)model is used to study the non-equilibrium thermalization of the ^(238)U nuclei and fragmentation of the hot *** subsequent decay of the pre-fragments is simulated by the GEMINI++*** BNN algorithm is used to improve the prediction accuracy after learning the residual error between experimental data and calculations by the IQMD-GEMINI++*** is shown that the IQMD-GEMINI++model can reproduce the available experimental data(3282 points)within 1.5 orders of *** being fine tuned by the BNN algorithm,the deviation between calculations and experimental data were reduced to within 0.4 order of magnitude.(2)Based on the predictions by the IQMD-GEMINI++-BNN framework,the target dependence of isotopic cross sections was *** cross sections to produce the rare isotopes by the ^(238)U+p,d and^9 Be reactions at 1 A GeV are *** the generation of neutron-rich fission products,the cross sections for the ^(238)U+^(9)Be are the *** the generation of neutron-deficient nuclei in the region of A=200–220,the cross sections for ^(238)U+p reaction are the *** the largest cross sections and the atomic density,the beryllium target is recommended to produce the neutron-rich fission products by the ^(238)U beam at 1 A GeV,while the liquid-hydrogen target is suggested to produce the neutron-deficient nuclei in the region of A=200–220.

Nucleon stripping in deuteron-induced spallation reactions at hundreds MeV/nucleon

A nucleon-nucleus dynamics model was developed to investigate the proton-,neutron-,and deuteron-induced reactions at hundreds of MeV/*** this model,the trajectory of incident nucleon is described by classical mechanics,and the probability of reaction between the nucleon and nucleus is calculated by exponential *** is shown that the total reaction cross sections calculated by the model agree in general with the predictions by the CDCC and the experimental *** model was applied to investigate the nucleon stripping in deuteron-induced reactions and its symmetry energy dependence.

Development of multi-group Monte-Carlo transport and depletion coupling calculation method and verification with metal-fueled fast reactor

The accurate modeling of depletion,intricately tied to the solution of the neutron transport equation,is crucial for the design,analysis,and licensing of nuclear reactors and their fuel *** paper introduces a novel multi-group Monte-Carlo depletion calculation ***-group cross-sections(MGXS)are derived from both 3D whole-core model and 2D fuel subassembly model using the continuous-energy Monte-Carlo *** calculations employ the multi-group Monte-Carlo method,accommodating both homogeneous and specific local heterogeneous *** proposed method has been validated against the MET-1000 metal-fueled fast reactors,using both the OECD/NEA benchmark and a new refueling benchmark introduced in this *** findings suggest that microscopic MGXS,produced via the Monte-Carlo method,are viable for fast reactor depletion ***,the locally heterogeneous model with angular-dependent MGXS offers robust predictions for core reactivity,control rod value,sodium void value,Doppler constants,power distribution,and concentration levels.

An efficient quantum proactive incremental learning algorithm

In scenarios where a large amount of data needs to be learned,incremental learning can make full use of old knowledge,signif-icantly reduce the computational cost of the overall learning process,and maintain high *** this paper,taking the MaxCut problem as our example,we introduce the idea of incremental learning into quantum computing,and propose a quantum Proactive Incremental Learning algorithm(QPIL).Instead of a one-off training of quantum circuit,QPIL contains a multi-phase training on gradually-increased subgraphs of all vertices,proactively reducing large-scale problems to smaller ones to solve in steps,providing an efficient solution for ***,some vertices and corresponding edges are randomly selected for training to obtain optimized parameters of the quantum circuit at ***,in each incremental phase,the remaining vertices and corresponding edges are gradually added and the parameters obtained from the previous phase are reused in the parameter initialization of the current *** perform experiments on 120 different small-scale graphs,and it shows that QPIL performs superior to prevalent quantum and classical baselines in terms of approximation ratio(AR),time cost,anti-forgetting,and solv-ing *** particular,QPIL’s AR surpasses 20%of mainstream quantum baselines,and the time cost is less than 1/5 of *** idea of QPIL is expected to inspire efficient and high-quality solutions in large-scale MaxCut and other combinatorial optimization problems.

Precise gradient separation of nanoparticles using reduced graphene oxide-polyoxomolybdate membranes

Simultaneous immobilization of multiple heavy metal(loid)s in contaminated water and alkaline soil inoculated Fe/Mn oxidizing bacterium

Two strains of Fe/Mn oxidizing bacteria tolerant to high concentrations of multiple heavy metal(loid)s and efficient decontamination for them were *** surface of the bio-Fe/Mn oxides produced by the oxidation of Fe(II)and Mn(II)by Pseudomonas taiwanensis(marked as P4)and Pseudomonas plecoglossicida(marked as G1)contains rich reactive oxygen functional groups,which play critical roles in the removal efficiency and immobilization of heavymetal(loid)s in co-contamination *** isolated strains P4 and G1 can growwell in the following environments:pH 5-9,NaCl 0-4%,and temperature 20-30℃.The removal efficiencies of Fe,Pb,As,Zn,Cd,Cu,and Mn are effective after inoculation of the strains P4 and G1 in the simulated water system(the initial concentrations of heavy metal(loid)were 1 mg/L),approximately reaching 96%,92%,85%,67%,70%,54%and 15%,*** exchangeable and carbonate bound As,Cd,Pb and Cu are more inclined to convert to the Fe-Mn oxide bound fractions in P4 and G1 treated soil,thereby reducing the phytoavailability and bioaccessible of heavy metal(loid)*** research provides alternatives method to treat water and soil containing high concentrations of multi-heavy metal(loid)s.
