Clarifying the mechanisms governing volumetric soil water content(VSWC)dynamics in soil profiles is essential,as it can help to elucidate soil water transport processes and improve the prediction accuracy of soil hydrological *** Spearman's rank correlation and wavelet coherence analysis methods,similarity in soil profile VSWC dynamics and factors governing VSWC soil profile dynamics in upslopes and downslopes under three vegetation types(evergreen forest[EG],secondary deciduous forest mixed with shrubs[SDFS],and deforested pasture[DP])at different time scales(hourly,daily,weekly,and monthly)and in different seasons were *** results revealed significant similarity in the VSWC of different soil depths(Pweekly(42.8%)>daily(21.8%).The effects of soil properties(e.g.,texture,saturated hydraulic conductivity),rainfall,and potential evapotranspiration(ET_(p))on VSWC similarity were related to the time scale and season in which VSWC monitoring took *** properties had apparent effects on VSWC similarity at longer time scales(i.e.,monthly),with a high *** contrast,the effects of rainfall and ET_(p) on VSWC similarity were concentrated at weekly and daily scales,with a relatively low *** and ET_(p) dominated VSWC dynamics in the summer and fall,*** results imply the use of measured VSWC at one soil depth to predict the VSWC at other soil depths was a reliable *** the in-fluence of time scale effects and seasonal variations on prediction accuracy of VSWC should be considered.

This work was to study composition characteristics and the subsequent effect on the lead(Pb) binding properties of dissolved organic matter(DOM) derived from seaweed-based(SWOF) and chicken manure organic fertilizers(CMOF) during a one-year field incubation experiment using the excitation-emission matrix-parallel factor(EEM-PARAFAC) and twodimensional correlation spectroscopy(2DCOS) analysis. Results showed that high aromatic and hydrophobic fluorescent substances were enriched in CMOF-derived DOM and SWOFderived DOM and enhanced over time. And phenolic groups in the fulvic-like substances for SWOF-derived DOM and carboxyl groups in the humic-like substances for CMOF-derived DOM had the fastest responses over time, respectively. Moreover, both non-fluorescent polysaccharides and fluorescent humic-like substances or fulvic-like substances with aromatic(C=C) groups first participated in the binding process of Pb to SWOF-derived DOM on day 0 and 180 during the lead binding process. In contrast, humic-like substances associated with aromatic(C=C) and phenolic groups gave a faster response to Pb binding on day 360. Regarding CMOF-derived DOM, the fulvic-like substances associated with aromatic(C=C) and carboxylic groups displayed a faster response to Pb ions on day 0. Nonetheless,polysaccharides and humic-like associated with phenolic groups had a faster response on days 180 and 360. It is noteworthy that the polysaccharides, which participated in Pb binding to CMOF-derived DOM, posed a higher risk of Pb in the environment after 360 days. Therefore, these findings gave new insights into the long-term applications of commercial organic fertilizers for the amendment of soil.

This study aimed to investigate the correlation between serum miR-154-5p and urinary albumin to creatinine ratio(UACR)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and the association with biomarkers of inflammation and fibrosis in diabetic kidney disease(DKD).A total of 390 patients with T2DM were divided into three groups:normal albuminuria(UACR300 mg/g,n=122,CA).Circulating miR-154-5p,inflammatory(C-reactive protein(CRP);erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR);and tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-α)and fibrotic markers(vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF);transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1);and fibronectin(FN),and other biochemical indicators were assessed via real-time PCR,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,and chemiluminescence assay in patients with T2DM and 138 control subjects(NC).UACR,miR-154-5p,glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),serum creatinine(sCr),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),ESR,CRP,VEGF,TNF-α,TGF-β1,and FN were significantly higher and the estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)was significantly lower in NA,MA,and CA groups than in NC subjects(P<0.05).Elevated levels of UACR and miR-154-5p were directly correlated with HbA1c,sCr,BUN,ESR,CRP,VEGF,TNF-α,TGF-β1,and FN and negatively correlated with eGFR(P<0.05).miR-154-5p,HbA1c,sCr,BUN,eGFR,ESR,CRP,VEGF,TNF-α,TGF-β1,and FN were important factors affecting *** findings indicated that elevated serum miR-154-5p is significantly correlated with high UACR in patients with T2DM and may offer a novel reference for the early diagnosis of DKD.

OBJECTIVE DNA methylation has been regarded as an important epige-netic signature reflecting the transcription state of DNA in cells. This study was to conducted to assess the relationship between human alpha-feto-protein (AFP) gene expression and the DNA methylation status of the promoter region in three different cells, namely two human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cell lines and normal human fibroblasts. METHODS Transcription of the AFP gene was verified by RT-PCR. After bisulphate treatment of DNA, the methods of MSP and BSP were used to analyze the methylation density and status within single DNA strands of two closely spaced CpG dinucleotides of the promoter region in the different cells. RESULTS RT-PCR analysis indicated that the expression of the AFP gene in HepG2 cells was significantly higher than in SMMC-7721 cells, and that the AFP gene was not expressed in normal human fibroblasts. By MSP and BSP we observed that the promoter region was demethylat-ed in the AFP-high-expressing cell lines, and that the sites of -2,494 bp and -2,431 bp in the AFP genomic sequence can be used as detection sites for early tumorous diagnosis. CONCLUSION These results indicate that the DNA methylation state of the promoter region has a negative correlation with AFP gene expression.

Compound Shenhua Tablet,a medicine comprising seven herbs,is employed in treating IgA *** study aimed to meticulously analyze its chemical *** on a list of candidate compounds,identified through extensive literature review pertinent to the tablet’s herbal components,the composition analysis entailed the systematic identification,characterization,and quantification of the *** analyte-capacity of LC/ESI-MS-based and GC/EI-MS-based assays was *** identified and characterized constituents were quantified to determine their content levels and were ranked based on the constituents’daily doses.A total of 283 constituents,classified into 12 distinct categories,were identified and characterized in the Compound Shenhua *** constituents exhibited content levels of 1−10982μg·g^(−1),with daily doses of 0.01−395μmol·d^(−1).The predominant constituents,with daily doses of≥10μmol·d^(−1),include nine organic acids(citric acid,quinic acid,chlorogenic acid,cryptochlorogenic acid,gallic acid,neochlorogenic acid,isochlorogenic acid C,isochlorogenic acid B,and linoleic acid),five iridoids(specnuezhenide,nuezhenoside G13,nuezhenidic acid,secoxyloganin,and secologanoside),two monoterpene glycosides(paeoniflorin and albiflorin),a sesquiterpenoid(curzerenone),a triterpenoid(oleanolic acid),and a phenylethanoid(salidroside).Additionally,there were 83,126,and 55 constituents detected in the medicine with daily doses of 1–10,0.1–1,and 0.01–0.1μmol·d^(−1),*** combination of the LC/ESI-MS-based and GC/EI-MS-based assays demonstrated a complementary relationship in their analyte-capacity for detecting the constituents present in the *** comprehensive composition analysis establishes a solid foundation for further pharmacological research on Compound Shenhua Tablet and facilitates the quality evaluation of this complex herbal medicine.
