The physics phenomena of copper and stainless steel in the process of forming friction welding joint are recorded and observed by the interrupted test *** test shows that the butt friction welding process of copper and stainless steel bar can be divided into three stages approximately: the adhesion at the beginning friction stage, the friction inside the copper and the plastic ring expansion, and the friction on the bound surface of copper-stainless steel and in stainless steel. During the process,the friction surface was transformed twice.

We report herein an efficient catalytic epoxidation reaction for the synthesis of epoxyketone(tert-butyl((S)-4-methyl-1-((R)-2-methyloxiran-2-yl)-1-oxopentan-2-yl)carbamate), which is an important synthetic intermediate of carfilzomib. A series of bioinspired manganese complexes bearing N4 ligands are carefully investigated in the epoxidation of enone precursor with H_2O_2 as oxidant in the presence of carboxylic acid(e.g., acetic acid).

Harnessing the quantum computation power of the present noisy-intermediate-size-quantum devices has received tremendous interest in the last few years. Here we study the learning power of a one-dimensional long-range randomly-coupled quantum spin chain, within the framework of reservoir computing. In time sequence learning tasks, we find the system in the quantum many-body localized (MBL) phase holds long-term memory, which can be attributed to the emergent local integrals of motion. On the other hand, MBL phase does not provide sufficient nonlinearity in learning highly-nonlinear time sequences, which we show in a parity check task. This is reversed in the quantum ergodic phase, which provides sufficient nonlinearity but compromises memory capacity. In a complex learning task of Mackey–Glass prediction that requires both sufficient memory capacity and nonlinearity, we find optimal learning performance near the MBL-to-ergodic transition. This leads to a guiding principle of quantum reservoir engineering at the edge of quantum ergodicity reaching optimal learning power for generic complex reservoir learning tasks. Our theoretical finding can be tested with near-term NISQ quantum devices.

This paper deals with the mode I crack problem of a cracked rubber sheet under plane stress condition using the delicate digital moiré technique. Through the four step phaseshifting method of automated fringe analysis, the displacement fields in the Cartesian coordinate system are given. By the coordinate-transform equation, the radial and circular displacement distributions in the polar coordinate system are obtained. The displacement isoline distributions and displacement vector distributions near the crack tip are discussed. The strain isoline distributions near the crack tip are also analyzed in this paper. Finally, the distribution rules for the mechanical fields near the crack tip are discussed with the sector division method.

In this paper,an operation model for distribution systems with energy storage(ES)is proposed and solved with the aid of machine *** model considers ES applications with uncertainty *** also considers ES applications for economy and security *** the special features of ES operations under day-ahead decision mechanisms of distribution systems,an ES operation scheme is designed for transferring uncertainties to later hours through ES to ensure the secure operation of distribution *** a result,uncertainties from different time intervals are assembled and may counteract each other,thereby alleviating the *** different ES applications rely on ES flexibility(in terms of charging and discharging)and interact with each other,by coordinating different ES applications,the proposed operation model achieves efficient exploit of ES *** shorten the computation time,a long short-term memory recurrent neural network is used to determine the binary variables corresponding to ES *** proposed operation model then becomes a convex optimization problem and is solved ***,the solving efficiency is greatly improved while ensuring the satisfactory use of ES flexibility in distribution system operation.

Soft material is becoming increasingly important to many industries, which leads to the demand for a better understanding of its mechanical properties under large deformation. In this paper, a technique of integrating the digital moire method and embedded-grating approach is presented for investigating mechanical behaviors of a vulcanized silicone rubber in contact with a wedge-shaped indenter. Two distinct deformation sectors are observed from the experimental result. A simple way of computing strain is also presented by analysing grid deformation within the framework of geometrical nonlinearity. Three regions were observed from strain distribution along the horizontal direction： the contact region, the sink-in region and the far-field region. Moreover, the extent of the sticky region and that of the slippy region within the contact interface are distinguished, which can provide realistic data for theoretical modelling. Based on the finite deformation elasticity theory, the distribution of contact pressure and shear stress over the contact interface are derived for prediction of possible cracks.

Copper is an essential element in the environment and the human body, but at the same time, exposure to high concentrations of Cu2+ions will potentially lead to acute toxicity and various neurodegenerative diseases. Thus, it is of great significance for the development of highly sensitive and selective strategies for the detection of Cu2+ions. Here, we report a highly efficient poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (PEDOT:PSS) based organic electrochemical transistor (OECT) sensor, for real-time Cu2+ions detection. The detection limit of the OECT device is as low as 100 nM, far beyond the sensitivity required for practical uses. The detection mechanism may base on the chemical reactivity of Cu2+ions oxiding the PEDOT:PSS in solution both in absence and presence of the base potential. The OECT devices also exhibit excellent selective response to Cu2+ions rather than other metal ions. Finally, we also demonstrate the determination of Cu2+ions in tap water with the OECT Cu2+sensor. Considering the high sensitivity and selectivity, as well as the real-time and low cost features of our Cu2+OECT sensor, it is ideal for portable and disposable applications for environment monitoring and public health. © 2017, Science China Press and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Alkali stress is a major constraint for crop production in many regions of saline-alkali ***,little is known about the mechanisms through which wheat responds to alkali *** this study,we identified a calcium ion-binding protein from wheat,TaCCD1,which is critical for regulating the plasma membrane(PM)H^(+)-ATPase-mediated alkali stress *** H+-ATPase activity is closely related to alkali tolerance in the wheat variety Shanrong 4(SR4).We found that two D-clade type 2C protein phosphatases,TaPP2C.D1 and TaPP2C.D8(TaPP2C.D1/8),negatively modulate alkali stress tolerance by dephosphorylating the penultimate threonine residue(Thr926)of TaHA2 and thereby inhibiting PM H+-ATPase *** stress induces the expression of TaCCD1 in SR4,and TaCCD1 interacts with TaSAUR215,an early auxin-responsive *** responses are both dependent on calcium signaling triggered by alkali ***1 enhances the inhibitory effect of TaSAUR215 on TaPP2C.D1/8 activity,thereby promoting the activity of the PM H^(+)-ATPase TaHA2 and alkali stress tolerance in *** and genetic analyses verified the effects of these genes in response to alkali stress,indicating that TaPP2C.D1/8 function downstream of TaSAUR215 and ***,this study uncovers a new signaling pathway that regulates wheat responses to alkali stress,in which Ca^(2+)-dependent TaCCD1 cooperates with TaSAUR215 to enhance PM H+-ATPase activity and alkali stress tolerance by inhibiting TaPP2C.D1/8-mediated dephosphorylation of PM H+-ATPase TaHA2 in wheat.

The reaction of Ni（CH3COO）2.6H2O, 4-hydroxycinnamic acid （Hhca） and 4,4＇-bipyridine （bipy） ligand in water-solution afforded a mononuclear complex [Ni（H2O）4（4,4＇-bipy）2]（hca）2 which was characterized by IR, elemental analysis, TGA and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray crystallography analysis reveals that the complex is of triclinic, space group PI with a = 7.0238（14）, b = 7.2934（11）, c = 17.186（4） A, α = 87.073（13）, β = 84.354（10）, γ = 81.961（12）°, V= 866.9（3） A^3, Z = 1, Dc = 1.474 g/cm^3, F（000） = 402,μ = 62.7 mm^-1, R = 0.0411, wR = 0.0862 and GOF = 1.048. In solid state, the cation [Ni（H2O）4（4,4＇-bpy）2]^2＋ connects six nearby hca counter anions via O-H…O hydrogen bonds to form an extended 2D lattice framework and the O-…N hydrogen bonds finally link the 2D layers into an infinite 3D network.

A Cenozoic tectono-sedimentary model of the Tainan Basin, the South China Sea: evidence from a multi-channel seismic profile

The Tainan Basin is one of the set of Cenozoic extensional basins along northern margin of the South China Sea that experienced extension and subsequently thermal subsidence. The Tainan Basin is close to the Taiwan Arc-Trench System and straddles a transition zone between oceanic and continental crust. A new regional multi-channel seismic profile （973-01） across the region of NE South China Sea is introduced in this paper. In seismic stratigraphy and structural geology, a model of Cenozoic tectono-sedimentation of the Tainan Basin is established. The results show that three stages can be suggested in Tainan Basin; In Stage A （Oligocene （？）-Lower Miocene） the stratigraphy shows restricted rifting, indicating crustal extension. Terrestrial sedi- ments mostly filled the faulted sags of the North Depression on the continental shelf. Structural highs, including the Central Uplift, blocked material transportation to the South Depression in abyssal basin. In Stage B the Tainan Basin （Middle-Upper Miocene） exhibits a broad subsidence resulting from the post-rifting thermal cooling. The faulted-sags in North Depression had been filled up. Terrestrial materials were transported over the structural highs and deposited directly in the South Depression through sub- marine gullies or canyons. This sedimentation resulted in a crucial change in the slope to a modem shape. In Stage C （Latest Miocene-Recent） a phase change from extension to compression took place due to the orogeny caused by the overthrusting of the Luzon volcanic arc. Many inverse structures, such as thrusts, fault bend folds, and a regional unconformity were formed. Forland basin began developing.
