The wave loads acting on a breakwater resting on seabed include not only the wave force from the wave field around the structure but also the wave-induced seepage pressure acting on the base of *** latter is also a circumstance load which can not be neglected in engineering *** paper presents a closed-form analytical solution of wave-induced seep- age pressure acting on the base of breakwater resting on an infinite-depth porous elastic seabed. Based on the Biot's consolidation theory,the soil deformation and the compressibility of pore wa- ter are *** water wave pressure on sea bottom is determined by the linear water wave *** numerical results of uplifting force and moment caused by the wave-induced seepage pressure are given and the influences of soil deformation and pore water compressibility on the calculation results are discussed.

Water waves, wave-induced long-shore currents and movement of pollutants in waves and currents have been numerically studied based on the hyperbolic mild-slope equation, the shallow water equation , as well as the pollutant movement equation, and the numerical results have also been validated by experimental data. It is shown that the long-shore current velocity and wave set-up increase with the increasing incident wave amplitude and slope steepness of the shore plane ; the wave set-up increases with the in- creasing incident wave period;and the pollutant morement proceeds more quiekly with the increasing incident wave amplitude and slope steepness of the shore palane. In surf zones, the long-shore currents induced by the inclined incident waves have effectively affected the pollutant movement.

The Nonlinear Wave Force on a Circular Cylinder in Shallow Water

Based on the 1st order cnoidal wave theory, the nonlinear wave diffraction around a circular cylinder in shallow water is studied in this paper. The equation of the wave surface around the cylinder is formulated and by using this formula the wave surface elevation on the cylinder surface can be obtained. In this paper, the formula for calculating the cnoidal wave force on a circular cylinder is also derived. For the wave conditions which are often encountered in practical engineering designs, the ratios of the nonlinear wave forces to the linear wave forces are calculated, and the results are plotted in this paper for design purposes. In order to verify the theoretical results, model tests are conducted. After comparing the test results with the theoretical ones, it is concluded that, in shallow water, for the case of T g / d^(1/2) > 8-10 and H / d > 0.3, the cnoidal wave theory should be used to calculate the wave action on a cylindrical pier.

Calculation of turbulent mixing layer flow subjected to strong stable stratification have been reported. The eddy viscosity and diffusivity coefficients were computed from a two-equation k-Ε turbulence model. The effect of buoyancy on turbulence can be considered at two levels. The first level is to include the buoyancy terms in governing equations. The second level is to compute the buoyancy influence by the Munk-Anderson formula. The model can be used to predict recirculating flows and complex process.

The irregular wave force on pier group

-In this paper, the irregular wave force on a cylindrical pier group is calculated by the method of spectrum analysis, and the coefficients of the group effect of piers in the pier group are given here. The calculated results, using P-M and Bretshneider's. (B's) spectra, are obtained for the cases of 2 piers, 3 piers and 4 piers. To compare these results with those obtained for regular waves, we can come to some significant conclusions. Under the action of the irregular wave, when the distance between the piers in the pier group increases, the coefficient of the group effect decreases and tends rapidly to the case of a single pier. In general, when the ratio of the distance between the piers to the diameter of the pier is greater than 4, the group effect can be neglected.

In this paper, the irregular wave-induced seepage action on cylinders resting on rubble mound foundatoin (RMF) is studied by means of finite element method (FEM). The hydraulic resistance inside RMF is assumed to satisfy the nonlinear Forchheimer's equation and the seepage in the scabed is also considered. Model tests show good agreementwith the numerical results. The influence of several main parameters is discussed on the basis of vast calculations. In addition, the ratio of seepage forces, induced by regular and irregular waves respectively, is analyzed and thus a computaional method is put forward for practical engineering application to simplify the calculation of irregular wave-induced seepage forces.

This study reports the isolation of four newβ-carboline alkaloids(1−4)and six previously identified alkaloids(5−10)from the roots of Peganum harmala *** these compounds,1 and 2 were characterized as rareβ-carboline-quinazoline dimers exhibiting axial *** 3 possessed a unique 6/5/6/7 tetracyclic ring system with an azepine ring,and compound 4 was a novel annomontineβ-*** structures of these compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic data and quantum mechanical *** biosynthetic pathways of 1−3 were ***,the cytotoxicity of some isolates against four cancer cell lines(HL-60,A549,MDA-MB-231,and DU145)was ***,compound 4 exhibited significant cytotoxicity against HL-60,A549,and DU145 cells with IC_(50) values of 12.39,12.80,and 30.65μmol·L^(−1),***,compound 2 demonstrated selective cytotoxicity against HL-60 cells with an IC_(50) value of 17.32μmol·L^(−1).
