Compared with other stem cells,human induced pluripotent stem cells-derived neural progenitor cells(iPSC-NPCs)are more similar to cortical neurons in morphology and ***,they have greater potential for promoting the survival and growth of neurons and alleviating the proliferation of *** of stem cell exosomes and stem cells themselves have both been shown to effectively repair nerve ***,there is no study on the protective effects of exosomes derived from iPSC-NPCs on oxygen and glucose deprived *** this study,we established an oxygen-glucose deprivation model in embryonic cortical neurons of the rat by culturing the neurons in an atmosphere of 95%N2 and 5%CO2 for 1 hour and then treated them with iPSC-NPC-derived exosomes for 30 *** results showed that iPSC-NPC-derived exosomes increased the survival of oxygen-and glucose-deprived neurons and the level of brain-derived neurotrophic factor in the culture ***,it attenuated oxygen and glucose deprivation-induced changes in the expression of the PTEN/AKT signaling pathway as well as synaptic plasticity-related proteins in the ***,it increased the length of the longest neurite in the oxygen-and glucose-deprived *** findings validate the hypothesis that exosomes from iPSCNPCs exhibit a neuroprotective effect on oxygen-and glucose-deprived neurons by regulating the PTEN/AKT signaling pathway and neurite *** study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital,School of Medicine,Zhejiang University,China(approval ***20191010)on October 10,2019.

Background Anesthetics such as pentobarbital are generally applied before sacrificing animals,but their effect on stress responses has not been *** present study aimed at revealing the effect of intraperitoneal（ip）pentobarbital injection on the stress responses in rat before *** 69 Sprague Dawley male rats were randomly divided into 7 groups:chronic unpredictable stresses（CUS） rats sacrificed with direct decapitation（CUSD,n=10）,CUS rats sacrificed following ip injection of pentobarbital before decapitation（CUSP,n=10）,acute electric foot shock（FS） rats sacrificed with direct decapitation（FSD,n=10）;FS rats sacrificed following ip injection of pentobarbital before decapitation（FSP,n=10）,control rats sacrificed with direct decapitation（CTRD,n=10）,control rats sacrificed following ip injection of pentobarbital before decapitation（CTRP,n=10）,and control rats sacrificed with ip injection of saline before decapitation（CTRS,n=9）.Plasma concentrations of corticosterone（CORT）,testosterone（T）and estradiol（E2） and hypomalamic mRNA levels of corticotrophin-releasing hormone（CRH）,vasopressin（AVP） and oxytocin（OXT）,all of which are stress-related molecules,were *** CUSD and FSD groups both showed significantly increased plasma CORT,T and E2 levels compared with the CTRD group（P ＜ 0.01） while these significant changes disappeared in CUSP or FSP rats compared with the CTRP *** the hypothalamus,differences between CUSD or FSD group and the CTRD group in the CRH-,AVP- or OXT-mRNA expression did not change significantly following ip injection of pentobarbital before *** addition,ip injection of saline showed similar effects as ip injection of *** ip injection of pentobarbital before decapitation may significantly affect the chronic or acute stress responses,especially for plasma parameters,which seems to be caused by the injection itself,rather than by pentobarbital.

The development of low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells(LT-SOFCs)is of significant importance for realizing the widespread application of *** has stimulated a substantial materials research effort in developing high oxide-ion conductivity in the electrolyte layer of *** this context,for the first time,a dielectric material,CaCu_(3)Ti_(4)O_(12)(CCTO)is designed for LT-SOFCs electrolyte application in this *** individual CCTO and its heterostructure materials with a p-type Ni_(0.8)Co_(0.15)Al_(0.05)LiO_(2−δ)(NCAL)semiconductor are evaluated as alternative electrolytes in LT-SOFC at 450–550℃.The single cell with the individual CCTO electrolyte exhibits a power output of approximately 263 mW cm^(-2) and an open-circuit voltage(OCV)of 0.95 V at 550℃,while the cell with the CCTO–NCAL heterostructure electrolyte capably delivers an improved power output of approximately 605 mW cm^(-2) along with a higher OCV over 1.0 V,which indicates the introduction of high hole-conducting NCAL into the CCTO could enhance the cell performance rather than inducing any potential short-circuiting *** is found that these promising outcomes are due to the interplay of the dielectric material,its structure,and overall properties that led to improve electrochemical mechanism in CCTO–***,density functional theory calculations provide the detailed information about the electronic and structural properties of the CCTO and NCAL and their heterostructure CCTO–*** study thus provides a new approach for developing new advanced electrolytes for LT-SOFCs.

Carbon nanotubes(CNTs) have garnered great attention in recent years due to their outstanding electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties. The incorporation of small amounts of CNTs in polymers can substantially improve the sensitivity of the polymer's electrical conductivity. This paper presents a modified Maxwell model to evaluate the electrical conductivity of CNTs-filled polymer composites by introducing a transition zone to account for the tunneling effect. In this modified Maxwell model, the CNTs-filled polymer composite is modeled as a three-phase composite, consisting of a matrix(polymer), inclusions(CNTs), and a transition zone(tunneling zone). The effective electrical conductivity(EEC) of the composite is calculated based on the volume fractions and electrical conductivities of the matrix, inclusions, and transition zone. The model's validity is confirmed through the use of available test data, which demonstrates its capability to accurately capture the nonlinear conductivity behavior observed in CNTs-polymer composites. This study offers valuable insights into the design of high-performance conductive polymer nanocomposites, and enhances the understanding of electrical conduction mechanisms in CNT-dispersed polymer composites.

The dominant annual cycle of sea surface temperature(SST)in the tropical Pacific exhibits an antisymmetric mode,which explains 83.4%total variance,and serves as a background of El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO).However,there is no consensus yet on its anomalous impacts on the phase and amplitude of *** on data during 1982-2022,results show that anomalies of the antisymmetric mode can affect the evolution of ENSO on the interannual scale via Bjerknes feedback,in which the positive(negative)phase of the antisymmetric mode can strengthen El Niño(La Niña)in boreal winter via an earlier(delayed)seasonal cycle transition and larger(smaller)annual *** magnitude of the SST anomalies in the equatorial eastern Pacific can reach more than±0.3◦C,regulated by the changes in the antisymmetric mode based on random sensitivity *** reveal the spatial pattern of the annual cycle associated with the seasonal phase-locking of ENSO evolution and provide new insight into the impact of the annual cycle of background SST on ENSO,which possibly carries important implications for forecasting ENSO.

Forest ecosystems play key roles in mitigating human-induced climate change through enhanced carbon uptake;however,frequently occurring climate extremes and human activities have considerably threatened the stability of *** the same time,detailed accounts of disturbances and forest responses are not yet well quantified in *** study employed the Breaks For Additive Seasonal and Trend method-an abrupt-change detection method-to analyze the Enhanced Vegetation Index time series in East Asia,South Asia,and Southeast *** approach allowed us to detect forest disturbance and quantify the resilience after *** showed that 20%of forests experienced disturbance with an increasing trend from 2000 to 2022,and Southeast Asian countries were more severely affected by ***,95%of forests had robust resilience and could recover from disturbance within a few *** resilience of forests suffering from greater magnitude of disturbance tended to be stronger than forests with lower disturbance *** summary,this study investigated the resilience of forests across the low and middle latitudes of Asia over the past two *** authors found that most forests exhibited good resilience after disturbance and about two-thirds had recovered to a better state in *** findings of this study underscore the complex relationship between disturbance and resilience,contributing to comprehension of forest resilience through satellite remote sensing.

Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

Sulfide-modified nanoscale zero-valent iron(S-nZVI) is a promising material for removal of organic pollutants from water, but S-nZVI nanoparticles(NPs) easily agglomerate and have poor contact with organic ***, we propose a new S-nZVI/graphene aerogel(S-nZVI/GA) composite which exhibits superior removal capability for trichloroethylene(TCE) from ***-dimensional porous graphene aerogel(GA) can improve the efficiency of electron transport, enhance the adsorption of organic pollutants and restrain the agglomeration of the core-shell S-nZVI *** TCE removal rates of Fe S, nZVI, GA and S-nZVI were 27.8%, 42%, 63% and 75% in 2 hr, ***, TCE was completely removed within 50 min by S-nZVI/*** TCE removal rate increased with increasing p H and temperature, and TCE removal followed the pseudo-first-order kinetic *** results demonstrate the great potential of S-nZVI/GA composite as a low-cost,easily separated and superior monolithic adsorbent for removal of organic pollutants.

To date, there has been no report on fast-charging and Ahlevel sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) by utilizing thick hard carbon anodes that demonstrate prolonged cycling life and high areal capacity at high rates. Further, the relationship among the complex structure of hard carbon, storage mechanism, and fastcharging performance in alkali-metal ion batteries has been a subject of ongoing debate [1,2].
