Enhancing energy storage density of poly(arylene ether nitrile)via incorporating modified barium titanate nanorods and hotstretching

Dielectric energy storage materials that are extensively employed in capacitors and other electronic devices have attracted increasing attentions amid the rapid progress of electronic ***,the commercialized polymeric and ceramic dielectric materials characterized by low energy storage density face numerous limitations in practical *** this study,we report the simultaneous enhancement of dielectric properties of poly(arylene ether nitrile)(PEN)through the incorporating of sulfonated PEN(SPEN)modified barium titanate nanorods(BTNR)(SPEN@BTNR)and *** is synthesized using a two-step hydrothermal method,aminated with KH550,and then reacted with SPEN to form the cladding-modified SPEN@*** to the intrinsic high permittivity of barium titanate(BT)and enhanced compatibility between SPEN@BTNR and PEN stemming from the cladding of SPEN,the dielectric constant and breakdown strength of SPEN@BTNR/PEN composite are as high as 14.0 at 103 Hz and 198.1 kV/mm at the doping amount of 15 wt.%,*** a result,the energy storage density of SPEN@BTNR/PEN is increased to 2.43 J/cm^(3),compared with that of 0.82 J/cm^(3)for *** addition,derived from the rearrangement of SPEN@BTNR and orientation of PEN after hot-stretching,the dielectric constant and breakdown strength of SPEN@BTNR/PEN with 15 wt.%fillers are further enhanced to 17.1 and 204.8 kV/mm,respectively,resulting in an energy storage density of 3.36 J/cm^(3).The boosting of energy storage density up to 310%provides a new idea for improving the performances of dielectric energy storage materials.

Distribution and Characteristics of Dinosaur Eggs in China

China is one of the most prolific countries for dinosaur material in the world, from skeletons to footprints and eggs. At present, China has documented more than 160 kinds of dinosaur, 35 genera and 39 ichnospecies of dinosaur footprints, and 17 genera and 44 oospecies of dinosaur eggs. The dinosaur eggs in China are mainly distributed in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Gansu, Henan, Hunan, Hubei, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong, Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Guangdong （Fig. 1）, especially in Xixia of Henan, Nanxiong of Guangdong and Yunxian County of Hubei, which have the widest distribution, the best preservation and the most diversity.

Introduction to “Metallogenesis of Continental Collision”

There is a general consensus that Plate Tectonics can explain metallogenesis based on the collisions between oceanic and continental crust. For instance, the large-sized porphyry copper deposits that occur along the Cordillera of the Andes around the east coast of the Pacific, and in the Phillipines, Malaysia and Indonesia along the western coast of the Pacific that sit upon the massive Pacific plates. They are considered to be typical of deposits resulting from collision between the oceanic and continental crust. Many experts, however, have long held a negative view about whether the collision between continental crusts can lead to metallogenesis. In recent years, Chinese geologists have proposed a new concept for ＂Continent-Continent Collision Metallogenesis＂ after many years of studying in the Qinghai--Tibet Plateau. Here we give a brief introduction to this idea.

Many New Dinosaur Fossil Spots Discovered in the Dunhuang-Yumenguan-Jiuquan Area of Gansu Province, China

Two Mesozoic intramontane basins are developed in the Dunhuang-Yumenguan-Jiuquan area of Gansu Province,China,i.e.,the Gongpoquan Basin（E97°30′-98°10′,N41°30′-41°45′）and the Yujingzi Basin（E98°15′-99°00′,N40°15＇-40°40＇）（Fig.1）.A large number of dinosaurs and other fossils have been discovered in these two basins,which are called dinosaur＇tribes＇by paleontologists.

Super-Large Pb-Zn Deposits Discovered in Danaopo,Huayuan County,Hunan Province

Geological Brigade 405 of Hunan Provincial Geology and Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau discovered the Danaopo and Yangjiazhai super-large Pb- Zn deposits through 5 years （2009-2014） of exploration in Huayuan County, Hunan Province. These deposits contain 208.4942 million tons of （332＋333） class Pb＋Zn ores and 4.8746 million tons of metal amounts, of which metal amounts of 333 class zinc are 4.1198 million tons and metal amounts of lead are 0.7548 million tons, associated with useful components of Cd, Ag and Se. In addition, the Limei, Qingshuitang and Yutang Pb-Zn deposits were proven betbre and this region has thus been ranked as a Pb-Zn ore resource base with a hundred-ton scale （Fig. 1）.

China Has Successfully Conducted its First Pilot Production of Natural Gas Hydrates

Natural gas methane and hydrates are a chemical compound of water molecules formed under low temperature and high pressure. The decomposition of 1 m^3 of natural gas hydrates can release about 0.8 m^3 of water and 164 m3 of natural gas. Thus, natural gas hydrates are characterized by their high-energy density and huge resource potential. It is estimated that the world＇s total natural gas hydrates resource amount is equivalent to twice the total carbon amount of the global proven conventional fuels and can meet the human energy requirement in the future for 1000 years. They are thus the first choice to replace conventional energy of petroleum and coal.

China's Largest Granite-Type Gas Field was Discovered in Qinghai——The Inorganic Theory has Aroused Attention again

A growing number of oil and gas reservoirs have been discovered in granite and metamorphic crystallized rock areas. Statistics show that, about 157 oil and gas fields were found in crystallized bedrocks, with oil reserves of 5048x 10^8 t, and gas reserves of 2681x10^8m3. Among the discovered industrial oil and gas fields hosted in crystallized rocks, most occurred in granite rocks, occupying 40% in quantity and 75% in reserves, followed by those hosted in mafic and ultra-mafic rocks （about 3%）, and then tbllowed by those in volcanic rocks and metamorphic rocks.

With the worldwide rise in electric vehicles, the demand for lithium batteries is increasing day by day. In 2015, China＇s new energy vehicles developed rapidly, and the price of lithium carbonate rose from fifty or sixty thousand yuan per ton to 150 thousand yuan. In the past, lithium was often extracted from spodumene （LiAlSi2O6）, which is time consuming, laborious and expensive. Over the past decade, abundant lithium has been discovered in brackish and salt water lakes, which is an important way to obtain lithium resources.
