Evolution of the deeply buried Jurassic reservoirs in the southern Junggar Basin, NW China: Evidences from the Well DS-1

The southern Junggar Basin has enormous hydrocarbon mainly from the Jurassic and Permian source rocks,which indicated the importance of exploration of the deeply buried Jurassic reservoirs,therefore,the study of the deeply buried Upper Jurassic Qigu Formation(J_(3)q)reservoirs in Well DS-1 in the Dushanzi anticline was carried out through microscopic observation and measurement,nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and high pressure mercury injection.Results showed that the main reservoir storage spaces in the deeply buried Upper Jurassic Qigu Formation reservoirs were fractures and dissolved pores.The J_(3)q reservoirs with low porosity and permeability values of 0e12%and(0e5)×10^(-3)mm^(2) respectively,were generally tight.According to the mercury injection data,heterogeneity existed in the deeply buried Qigu Formation reservoirs with inhomogeneous pores and changeable sizes of pores throats.Pores and pore throats in the silt-fine sandstones of the lower Qigu Formation(J_(3)q^(1))were more big and wide respectively than that in the argillaceous siltstones of the upper Qigu Formation(J_(3)q^(3)).Reservoirs in J_(3)q^(1) had more mobile fluid and better conductivities than reservoirs in J_(3)q^(3).The strong compaction and multistage diagenesis resulted in the tight J_(3)q reservoirs.Anhydrite and quartz cementation,and various authigenetic minerals(e.***.hematite,kaolinite,illite/smectite formation,illite,chlorite and zeolite)filled in the pores.The homogenization temperature of brine inclusions(63.1e161.7℃)in quartz overgrowth indicated the quartz had grown since the late Eocene.Due to the Tian Shan reactivity in the Late Cenozoic,the structure fractures were developed and promoted dissolution by oil and formation water in the reservoirs of J3q1.

The immature calcareous shale in the south slope of Dongying sag, Jiyang depression, plays a significant role in immature oil genesis, and is sampled to make simulation experiment. The geochemical characters of the products of soluble organic matter and kerogen are researched respectively. The yields of the two components and their relations are made out. The contribution ratio between soluble organic matter and kerogen undergoing early degradation in lake facies of semi-salt water is figured out for the first time, so the research into the genetic mechanism of immature oil is developed.

Formation condition of deep gas reservoirs in tight sandstones in Kuqa Foreland Basin

Due to the high expense of deep oil and gas exploration,prediction of gas-bearing properties before drilling is crucial for deep gas reservoir of tight sandstone.Deep tight sandstone gas fields in Kuqa Foreland Basin are characterized by high abundance,high gas saturation,high pressure,high and stable yield,which belong to high-efficiency tight gas reservoir.Based on theoretical analysis of controlling factors and mechanisms of gas-bearing properties for tight sandstone gas reservoir,and taking tight sandstone gas fields with high effectiveness such as Dibei,Keshen and Dibei gas fields in Kuqa Foreland Basin as examples,formation condition and mechanism of high-efficiency tight sandstone gas reservoir in Kuqa area are studied through a comparative analysis of typical tight sandstone gas reservoir in Sichuan Basin and Ordos Basin.The results show that the formation condition of deep gas reservoir of tight sandstone in Kuqa foreland basin includes four factors:i.e.,overpressure gas charging,fracture development,“early-oil and late-gas”accumulation process and favorable preservation condition.The overpressure gas charging and fracture development are the most important factors for formation of high-efficiency tight gas reservoirs in Kuqa Foreland Basin.High-quality source rocks,high sourcereservoir pressure difference,and overpressure filling induced thereby are preconditions for formation of tight sandstone with high gas saturation.The fracture development controls gas migration,accumulation,and high yield of tight sandstone gas reservoir.The reservoir wettability changed by the early oil charging is beneficial to late natural gas charging,and the preservation condition of high-quality gypsum cap rocks is the key factor for gas reservoirs to maintain overpressure and high gas saturation.Matching of above four favorable factors leads to the tight sandstone gas reservoir with high abundance,high gas saturation and high gas production in Kuqa Foreland Basin,which is very different from other basins.Under the condition

库车坳陷秋里塔格构造带新生界油藏勘探潜力大,古近系膏盐岩相变区储层砂岩厚度薄,油气成藏过程复杂。利用流体包裹体岩相学观察、激光拉曼光谱、包裹体测温、盆地模拟和储层定量荧光光谱等方法,分析古近系库姆格列木群盐间砂岩样品的烃充注相关流体记录,明确研究区油气充注期次和成藏模式。结果表明:古近纪末—中新世早期,中质油聚集于白垩系砂岩顶部;中新世中期,库姆格列木群砂岩储层第一期轻质油—凝析油充注发生于约14.2 Ma,以蓝绿色荧光包裹体组合为主,古油藏广泛分布;中新世晚期—上新世中期,构造挤压作用增强,逆冲断裂、构造裂缝导致古油藏大量散失;上新世晚期以来,随埋藏深度的增加,高纯度、厚层膏盐层封盖性逐渐恢复,砂岩储层第二期甲烷干气充注发生于约3.7 Ma,形成含甲烷包裹体组合,构成现今盐间砂岩气藏的基本油气特征,形成膏盐岩盖层与构造作用双重控制的油气成藏模式。该结果为秋里塔格构造带中东段进一步勘探提供依据。

前陆冲断带油气资源丰富,但复杂构造作用下盖层封闭能力的差异阻碍油气勘探进程。目的针对准噶尔盆地南缘冲断带地表油气泄露严重且勘探不足的问题,方法以齐古背斜深浅泥岩盖层为研究对象,在明确地层模型的基础上,结合测井资料反演与实测数据,构建研究区力学参数数值模型,运用有限元方法对齐古背斜古、今构造应力场进行模拟,并将获取的应力场数据与裂缝参数理论相结合,分析盖层的裂缝形成时期,计算现今应力场对盖层裂缝的改造结果。结果结果表明:齐古背斜古、今应力分布受控于埋深、构造位置、断裂走向和断裂汇聚位置;现今应力场下,齐古背斜浅部盖层不易破裂,只对古构造应力场形成的裂缝起改造作用;深浅盖层裂缝发育程度差异大,背斜高点裂缝发育可能是造成浅部油气泄漏的主要原因;裂缝带在断层附近更发育,断层带附近裂缝渗透率远大于正常地层的,可能为深部油气向浅层运移甚至散失提供通道;深部盖层相对稳定,盖层条件不是制约准南下组合勘探成败的关键因素。结论研究结果可为准噶尔盆地南缘冲断带深部油气勘探提供一定参考。

Characteristics,origin and controlling effects on hydrocarbon accumulation of overpressure in foreland thrust belt of southern margin of Junggar Basin,NW China

Aiming at the differential distribution of overpressure in vertical and lateral directions in the foreland thrust belt in the southern margin of Junggar Basin,the study on overpressure origin identification and overpressure evolution simulation is carried out.Based on the measured formation pressure,drilling fluid density and well logging data,overpressure origin identification and overpressure evolution simulation techniques are used to analyze the vertical and lateral distribution patterns of overpressure,genetic mechanisms of overpressure in different structural belts and causes of the differential distribution of overpressure,and the controlling effects of overpressure development and evolution on the formation and distribution of oil and gas reservoirs.The research shows that overpressure occurs in multiple formations vertically in the southern Junggar foreland thrust belt,the deeper the formation,the bigger the scale of the overpressure is.Laterally,overpressure is least developed in the mountain front belt,most developed in the fold anticline belt,and relatively developed in the slope belt.The differential distribution of overpressure is mainly controlled by the differences in disequilibrium compaction and tectonic compression strengths of different belts.The vertical overpressure transmission caused by faults connecting the deep overpressured system has an important contribution to the further increase of the overpressure strength in this area.The controlling effect of overpressure development and evolution on hydrocarbon accumulation and distribution shows in the following aspects:When the strong overpressure was formed before reservoir becoming tight overpressure maintains the physical properties of deep reservoirs to some extent,expanding the exploration depth of deep reservoirs;reservoirs below the overpressured mudstone cap rocks of the Paleogene Anjihaihe Formation and Lower Cretaceous Tugulu Group are main sites for oil and gas accumulation;under the background of overall overpressure,both overpres

The complexity of diagenesis and hydrocarbon accumulation in the deep reservoirs in southern Junggar Basin restricts hydrocarbon exploration in the lower reservoir assemblage. The lithofacies and diagenesis of reservoirs in the Cretaceous Qingshuihe Formation in the Gaoquan structure of the Sikeshu Sag, southern Junggar Basin were analyzed. On this basis, the thermal history was calibrated using calcite in-situ U-Pb dating and fluid inclusion analysis to depict the hydrocarbon accumulation process in the Gaoquan structure. The results show that the Qingshuihe reservoir experienced two phases of calcite cementation and three phases of hydrocarbon charging. The calcite cements are dated to be (122.1±6.4) Ma, (14.4±1.0) Ma - (14.2±0.3) Ma. The hydrocarbon charging events occurred at around 14.2-30.0 Ma (low-mature oil), 14.2 Ma (mature oil), and 2 Ma (high-mature gas). The latter two phases of hydrocarbon charging contributed dominantly to the formation of reservoir. Due to the S-N compressive thrust activity during the late Himalayan period since 2 Ma, the traps in the Gaoquan structure were reshaped, especially the effective traps which developed in the main reservoir-forming period were decreased significantly in scale, resulting in weak hydrocarbon shows in the middle-lower part of the structure. This indicates that the effective traps in key reservoir-forming period controlled hydrocarbon enrichment and distribution in the lower reservoir assemblage. Calcite U-Pb dating combined with fluid inclusion analysis can help effectively describe the complex diagenesis and hydrocarbon accumulation process in the central-west part of the basin.

Differential Hydrocarbon Accumulation Controlled by Structural Styles along the Southern and Northern Tianshan Thrust Belt

The Kuqa and the Southern Junggar foreland thrust belts, which lie to the southern and northern Tianshan, respectively, were formed under a strong compressional tectonic setting. Due to the differential propagation and deformation under the control of the décollement horizon, the structural deformation styles differ in the Kuqa and Southern Junggar thrust belts. Imbricated stacking is developed in the Kuqa thrust belt, forming a piggyback imbricated pattern of faulted anticline and fault-block structural assemblage dominated by salt structures. In contrast, wedge-shaped thrusts are developed in Southern Junggar, mainly forming vertical laminated patterns of multi-wedge-structure stacks strongly influenced by the décollement horizons. The different deformation patterns and structural styles of the north and south of Tian Shan control the contrasting characteristics of hydrocarbon accumulation in the foreland thrust belts of the Kuqa and the Southern Junggar thrust belts, including the variance in the hydrocarbon trap types, pathway systems and hydrocarbon-bearing horizons. Proven by the hydrocarbon accumulation research and exploration achievements, recent exploration targets should focus on sub-salt piggyback imbricated structural patterns in the Kuqa and the deep laminated patterns in the Southern Junggar thrust belt.
