Harnessing wrinkling morphologies of graphene on soft substrates for mechanically programmable interfacial thermal conductance

Strain engineering has been leveraged to tune the thermal properties of materials by introducing stress and manipulating local atomic vibrations,which poses a detrimental threat to the mechanical integrity of materials and structures and limits the capability to regulate thermal ***,we report that the interfacial thermal conductance of graphene on a soft substrate can be regulated by harnessing wrinkling and folding morphologies of graphene,which could be well controlled by managing the prestrain applied to the *** obtained graphene structures are free of significant in-plane mechanical strain and only have infinitesimal distortion to the intrinsic thermal properties of *** subsequent thermal transport studies with pumpprobe non-equilibrium molecular dynamics(MD)simulation show that the thermal conductance between graphene structures and the substrate is uniquely determined by the morphological features of *** atomic density of interfacial interactions,energy dissipation,and temperature distribution are elucidated to understand the thermal transport across each graphene structure and *** further demonstrate that the normalized thermal conductance decreases monotonically with the increase of the equivalent mechanical strain,showing the capability of mechanically programmable interfacial thermal conductance in a broad range of *** demonstrations in search of on-demand thermal conductance are conducted by controlling the geometric morphologies of *** study lays a foundation for regulating interfacial thermal conductance through mechanical loading-induced geometric deformation of materials on a soft substrate,potentially useful in the design of flexible and stretchable structures and devices with tunable thermal management performance.

Mathematical Models and Computer Simulation of Nitrogen Concentration Profiles in Pulse Plasma Nitrided Layers

Two materials, pure Fe and pure Al, were nitrided in a pulse plasma nitriding facility. The nitrogen profiles in surface layers and the surface phase structures of specimens nitrided at 500℃ for 8 h for Fe and for 6 h for Al were measured using the glow discharge spectrometry and an X-ray diffractometer, respectively. XRD results indicate that the compound layer with hcp crystal structure (AIN) was formed on the top of Al substrate. During nitriding of Fe, the compound layer growth conforms to parabolic law and the surface nitrogen concentration change little with increasing the nitriding time. The surface nitrogen content of nitrided Al specimens is less than theoretical value 34.17 wt pct of AIN. The mathematical models of nitrogen concentration profiles in the surface layer of nitrided Al specimen have been established based on the research of the kinetics of pulse plasma nitriding of Fe and the nitrogen concentration profiles were also simulated. Results show that the predicted curves agree basically with the experimental data.

In this paper, a new method for welding SiCp/101A was put forward. It is LPI (liquid-phase-impacting) diffusionwelding. Through LPI diffusion welding SiCp/101A aluminum, the effect of welding parameters on the weldedjoint property was investigated, and the optimal welding parameters were brought forward at the same time. Themicrostructure of joint was analyzed by means of optical-microscope, scanning electron microscope in order to studythe relationship between the macro-properties of joint and the microstructure. The results show that LPI diffusionwelding could be used for welding aluminum matrix composites SiCp/101A successfully.

A 30 vol.% ZrCp/W composite has been deformed in compression in the temperature range of 1200-1600℃.Dislocation nucleation mechanism in ZrC particles is discussed by analyzing the harmonious deformation between tungsten-matrix and ZrC *** activation apparently increases the mobility of screw segments,resulting in the formation of many kinetics jogs and thermodynamics jogs above 1300℃.The formation mechanisms of the dislocation configurations are studied.

The liquid-phase-impacting (LPI) diffusion welding mechanism and microstructure of welded joint of aluminum matrixcomposite SiCp/101A have been studied. It shows that by LPl diffusion welding, the interface state between SiCparticle and matrix is prominent, the harmful microstructure or brittle phase can be restrained from the welded ***, the density of dislocation in the matrix near the interface and in the matrix are all so higher than that ofparent composite, the dislocation entwists each other intensively resulted in welding the composite successfully.

Modeling and Control of a V2G Charging Station Based on Synchronverter Technology

This paper proposes an idea for modeling and con-trol of a V2G charging station(CS)for electric vehicles(EVs)by using synchronverter ***,the architecture of the CS is ***,a T-S fuzzy controller is designed to decide the reference real power of the synchronverter by considering the grid *** to the inner frequency-and voltage-drooping mechanisms of the synchronverter,the input and output real and reactive power of the CS will be automatically adjusted on the basis of the reference value according to the degree of deviation from the nominal value of the grid frequency and *** ensure the safety of this operation,an adaptive frequency droop coefficient mechanism is designed to adapt the change of the total energy storage of a CS unit by changing the slope of the P-f control characteristic of the *** performance of the CS with the proposed control strategy is investigated with EVs of different battery states,different users’sets and under different grid *** results demonstrate that the proposed strategy can not only effectively perform controlled charging/discharging of each single electric vehicle inside the CS,but also improve the performance of the electricity grid in terms of efficiency,stability and reliability.

Investigation on electromagnetically induced transparency and slowdown of group velocity in an Eu3+:Y2SiO5 crystal

Electromagnetically induced transparency（EIT） and slowdown of group velocity（SGV） in Eu3+:Y2SiO5were investigated by using density matrix equations of the interaction between light and matter and their numerical solutions. The relationship of the probe transmission with different probe detuning and coupling Rabi frequency was obtained. The influence of inhomogeneous line width on electromagnetically induced transparency and slowdown of group velocity were analyzed. Such transparency was restrained when inhomogeneous line width increased. The center transmission did not homogeneously change with an increase in ion-doped concentration. There is an optimal concentration which can make the electromagnetically induced transparency significant. It is evident that the group velocity of the probe has a minimum value for a certain level of coupling field strength.

A 3D Nonhydrostatic Compressible Atmospheric Dynamic Core by Multi-moment Constrained Finite Volume Method

A 3D compressible nonhydrostatic dynamic core based on a three-point multi-moment constrained finite-volume (MCV) method is developed by extending the previous 2D nonhydrostatic atmospheric dynamics to 3D on a terrainfollowing grid. The MCV algorithm defines two types of moments: the point-wise value (PV) and the volume-integrated average (VIA). The unknowns (PV values) are defined at the solution points within each cell and are updated through the time evolution formulations derived from the governing equations. Rigorous numerical conservation is ensured by a constraint on the VIA moment through the flux form formulation. The 3D atmospheric dynamic core reported in this paper is based on a three-point MCV method and has some advantages in comparison with other existing methods, such as uniform third-order accuracy, a compact stencil, and algorithmic simplicity. To check the performance of the 3D nonhydrostatic dynamic core, various benchmark test cases are performed. All the numerical results show that the present dynamic core is very competitive when compared to other existing advanced models, and thus lays the foundation for further developing global atmospheric models in the near future.

Benefits of tributyrin on growth performance,gastrointestinal tract development,ruminal bacteria and volatile fatty acid formation of weaned Small-Tailed Han lambs

This study aimed to determine the effects of tributyrin on growth performance,gastrointestinal tract development,ruminal bacteria and volatile fatty acid(VFA)*** healthy weaned SmallTailed Han female lambs at 3 months old with BW 27.5±4.1 kg(mean±SD)were randomly assigned to five groups of six lambs each,and each group received tributyrin at 0,0.5,1.0,2.0 and 4.0 g/kg in *** were measured before the start and end of the *** 15 d adaptation,DMI,feed,faeces and urine were recorded every *** were sacrificed at d *** to lambs fed no tributyrin,lambs fed 4.0 g/kg tributyrin had higher average daily BW gain(P=0.04)and DMI(P<0.01).Tributyrin reduced nitrogen(P<0.01),Ca(P<0.01)and P(P<0.01)losses derived from faeces and *** mostly important,tributyrin increased dorsal sac thickness(P<0.01),papillae length(P=0.04)and width(P<0.01),ventral sac papillae length(P<0.01)and width(P<0.01),caudodorsal blind sac thickness(P=0.02),papillae length(P<0.01)and width(P<0.01).Furthermore,tributyrin increased thicknesses of both the duodenum(P<0.01)and ileum(P=0.01),and villus heights of the duodenum(P=0.01),ileum(P<0.01),jejunum(P<0.01)and caecum(P=0.02),but tributyrin decreased duodenal(P<0.01)and caecal crypt depths(P<0.01).Tributyrin reduced rumen pH(P<0.01)while promoting total VFA concentration(P<0.01).Tributyrin improved the structure of rumen bacteria by enhancing Clostridium(P=0.04),Butyrivibrio(P<0.01),Streptococcus(P=0.04),Prevotella(P=0.04),Ruminobacter(P=0.02)and Fibrobacter(P=0.03).In conclusion,tributyrin could stimulate gastrointestinal tract development by enhancing colonization of rumen VFA-producing bacteria,and dietary supplementation of tributyrin at 4.0 g/kg of DM was recommended for the weaned lambs.
