Regulating ion transport behaviors toward dendrite-free potassium metal batteries:recent advances and perspectives

With abundant potassium resources and high capacity,potassium metal batteries(PMBs)present a compelling option for the next generation of energy storage ***,PMBs suffer from an unstable anode interface caused by uncontrolled dendrite growth,which results in unsatisfactory cyclability and safety *** investigations suggest that significant progress has been made in enhancing the interfacial stability of *** various effective strategies for stabilizing interfaces can ultimately be attributed to the regulation of the sluggish ion transfer kinetics and irregular deposition,i.e.,the arrangement of ion transport behaviors at the *** modulation of ions transport rate and ions deposition directions makes it possible to obtain a dendrite-free and smooth deposition ***,the influencing factors and action mechanism of K^(+)interface transport behaviors are discussed to understand the nature of material design for constructing stable anode interfaces,including regulating the solvation and desolvation structures,accelerating K^(+)transport kinetics and controlling K^(+)deposition *** addition,the deficiencies and prospects of the research on electrolyte,separators and designed electrode involved in the manufacturing and testing and ion transport process of PMBs are *** review is expected to provide some possible directions for constructing dendrite-free interfaces in advanced PMBs-related research and offer significant insights for prospective experimental research and commercial applications.

Dynamics of an impurity ion transport in oil-paper insulation under various electric fields

The ionic transport process is an important counterpart to charge transport in oil-paper insulation,and it significantly impacts oil flow electrification at the oil-paper *** this,the dynamics of this phenomenon and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear,particularly at the molecular *** understand this fundamental aspect,we conduct Molecular Dynamics study on the transport behaviour of an impurity ion in different oil-paper insulation models under various external electric *** influence factors,such as external electric fields,temperatures,and local structural characteristics,are investigated in relation to the corresponding ionic mobility in different polymer *** to the simulations,ionic mobility and its response to electric fields are higher in weaker electrostatic *** a result,mineral oil exhibits the highest ionic mobility and the most substantial enhancement of ionic mobility by external electric fields,followed by vegetable oil,oil-paper blends,and insulating *** significant deviation in ionic mobility between oil and paper leads to the formation of an electric double layer near the oil-paper *** underlying physical mechanisms of different ionic mobility and its response to the electric field in different polymer models could be explained by the different polymer structural influences in terms of interaction energy and coordination numbers in a static manner,as well as by the interactions between the impurity ion and its surrounding atoms in terms of lifetime correlation functions and velocity autocorrelation functions in a dynamic *** addition,the influence of temperature on ionic mobility in mineral and vegetable oil is examined,and their activation energies are *** in the fundamental understanding of the dynamics of the ion transport process in oil-paper insulation is vital to improving their insulating properties for oil-impregnated power transformers.

Nanoscopic tribological characteristics of a cryogenically cycled Zr-based metallic glass

Optimized macroscopic tribological behavior can be anticipated in metallic glasses(MGs)by cryogenic cycling treatment(CCT),which is attributed to enhanced ***,the intrinsic friction mechanisms of MGs induced by cryogenic rejuvenation are still poorly *** the present study,nanoscopic wear tests were conducted on the Zr-based MGs surface with different CCT cycles using atomic force microscopy(AFM).After CCT treatment with 100 cycles,the MG displays the highest adhesion and ploughing frictions,but significantly improved anti-wear *** tests and molecular dynamics simulations disclose that the increased adhesion is attributed to the dominance of liquid-like regions in the CCT-treated MGs,and the impact of reduced hardness and weak elastic recovery results in the deteriorated ploughing *** enhanced plasticity effectively dissipates the strain from the AFM tip through multiple shear bands and weakens the adhesion during deformation,giving rise to excellent wear *** study elucidates the promoting effect of CCT on the outstanding antiwear performance of MGs,and is helpful for the development of novel alloys.

Background:According to traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),drugs supplementing the vital energy,Qi,can eliminate tumors by restoring host *** objective of this study is to investigate the underlying immune mechanisms of anti-tumor activity associated with Qi-supplementing herbs,specifically the paired use of Huangqi and ***:Analysis of compatibility regularity was conducted to screen the combination of Qi-supplementing *** the MTT assay and a transplanted tumor mice model,the anti-tumor effects of combination TCMs were investigated in vitro and in *** content analysis and flow cytometry were then used to evaluate cellular immunity,followed by network pharmacology and molecular docking to dissect the significant active compounds and potential ***,the anti-tumor activity and the mechanism of the active ingredients were verified by molecular ***:There is an optimal combination of Huangqi and Danggui that,administered as an aqueous extract,can activate immunity to suppress tumor and is more effective than each drug on its own in vitro and in *** on network pharmacology analysis,PIK3R1 is the core target for the anti-tumor immunity activity of combined Huangqi and *** docking analysis shows 6 components of the combined Danggui and Huangqi extract(quercetin,jaranol,isorhamnetin,kaempferol,calycosin,and suchilactone)that bind to *** is the most important component against breast *** suchilactone/jaranol combination and,especially,the suchilactone/kaempferol combination are key for immunity enhancement and the anti-tumor effects of the ***:The combination of Huangqi and Danggui can activate immunity to suppress breast cancer and is more effective than the individual drugs alone.

Research progress of slippage characteristic and gas film stability enhancement methods on biomimetic hydrophobic surfaces

The biomimetic hydrophobic surface is a potentially efficient underwater drag reduction method and the drag reduction mechanism of this kind of surface comes from the interfacial *** now,it is a hotspot to grasp the slippage characteristic and explore slippage enhancement *** paper not only summarizes our numerical simulation and experimental results of slippage characteristic at the solid-liquid interface(SLI)of hydrophobic surfaces(HS)and the gas-liquid interface(GLI)of superhydrophobic surfaces(SHS)in recent years,but also introduces some innovative methods that can effectively improve the gas film stability and drag reduction effect of ***,we used the molecular dynamics(MD)simulation method to figure out the effect of the solid-liquid interaction strength,the system temperature and the shear rate on the slippage of SLI,and expound their action mechanism from molecular ***,by MD and multibody dissipative particle dynamics(MDPD)method,the slippage behavior at the GLI was studied under the influence of the microstructure size and the flow driving *** proposed a new kind of hybrid slip boundary condition model to describe the slippage characteristic on *** addition,we found through experiment that a three-dimensional backflow will appear on the GLI under the interfacial adsorption of surfactants,and the backflow direction will reverse with the change of GLI ***,we put forward the wettability step structure and gas injection method to enhance the stability and drag reduction effect of the gas film on SHS.

Amplifying the intrinsic wettability of substrate material by changing the solid/liquid contact area is considered to be the main mechanism for controlling the wettability of rough or structured *** theoretical analysis and experimental exploration,we have found that in addition to this wettability structure amplification effect,the surface structure also simultaneously controls surface wettability by regulating the wetting state via changing the threshold Young angles of the Cassie-Baxter and wenzel wetting *** wetting state regulation effect provides us with an alternative strategy to overcome the inherent limitation in surface chemistry by tailoring surface *** wetting state regulation effect created by multi-scale hierarchical structures is quite significant and plays is a crucial role in promoting the superhydrophobicity,superhydrophilicity and the transition between these two extreme wetting properties,as well as stabilizing the Cassie-Baxter superhydrophobic state on the fabricated lotus-like hierarchically structured Cu surface and the natural lotus leaf.

Sludge composition and characteristics shaped microbial community and further determined process performance: A study on full-scale thermal hydrolysis-anaerobic digestion processes

Anaerobic digestion (AD) with thermal hydrolysis (TH) pretreatment is a promising process for excess sludge treatment,while there lacks of the knowledge from full-scale process about the impact of sludge composition and characteristics on microbial community and *** sludge physiochemical indices,microbial community and performance data of four full-scale TH-AD plants were characterized,and their relationships was *** four plants were operated under almost similar total organic loading rate (OLR)but their methanogenesis performance differentiate into two groups,namely superior group(SupG) and the inferior group (Inf G).In both groups,TH effectively solubilized particulate organic compounds,meanwhile raised the ammonia nitrogen (NH_(4)^(+)-N) and volatile fatty acid (VFA) *** with the Sup G,thermal hydrolyzed sludge of Inf G had higher level of VFAs,NH_(4)^(+)-N and total chemical oxygen demand (t COD),which showed higher inhibition effect on microbes,leading to a community with lower diversity,lower abundance of carbohydrate degrading functional guild,higher protein degrading one,and methanogens that adapted to limited substrates,and further declined the methane production ***,it was recommended that OLR alone was not sufficient for controlling the system in design and operation,the concentration of VFAs,NH_(4)^(+)-N and t COD should be equally *** higher concentration,together with the higher abundance of Defluviitoga and Proteiniphilum were recommended as indicators for inferior running *** results proposed that microbial communities played a role of bridge between environmental factors and performance,provided implications for engineering ecology and operational regulation for full-scale sludge TH-AD process.

A Study of 10 Rotating Radio Transients Using Parkes Radio Telescope

Rotating Radio Transients(RRATs)are a relatively new subclass of pulsars that emit detectable radio bursts *** analyzed 10 RRATs observed using the Parkes telescope,with eight of these observed via the ultra-wide-bandwidth low-frequency(UWL)*** measured the burst rate and produced integrated profiles spanning multiple frequency bands for three *** also conducted a spectral analysis on both integrated pulses and individual pulses of three *** of their integrated pulses follow a simple power law,consistent with the known range of pulsar spectral *** average spectral indices of single pulses are-0.9,-1.2,and-1.0 respectively,which are within the known range of pulsar spectral ***,we find that the spreads of single-pulse spectral indices for these RRATs(ranging from-3.5 to+0.5)are narrower compared to what has been observed in other ***,the average spectral index and scatter of single pulses are both relatively *** the remaining five RRATs observed at the UWL receiver,we also provide the upper limits on fluence and flux *** addition,we obtain the timing solution of PSR *** analysis shows that PSRs J1919+1745,J1709-43,and J1649-4653 are potentially nulling pulsars or weak pulsars with sparse strong pulses.
