Biliverdin Protects the Isolated Rat Lungs from Ischemia-reperfusion Injury via Antioxidative, Anti-inflammatory and Anti-apoptotic Effects

Background：Biliverdin （BV） has a protective role against ischemia-reperfusion injury （IRI）.However,the protective role and potential mechanisms of BV on lung IRI （LIRI） remain to be ***,we aimed to investigate the protective role and potential mechanisms of BV on ***：Lungs were isolated from Sprague-Dawley rats to establish an ex vivo LIRI *** an initial 15 min stabilization period,the isolated lungs were subjected to ischemia for 60 min,followed by 90 min ofreperfusion with or without BV ***：Lungs in the I/R group exhibited significant decrease in tidal volume （1.44 ± 0.23 ml/min in I/R group vs.2.41 ± 0.31 ml/min in sham group;P 〈 0.001）,lung compliance （0.27 ± 0.06 ml/cmH2O in I/R group vs.0.44 ± 0.09 ml/cmH2O in sham group;P 〈 0.001;1 cmH2O=0.098 kPa）,and oxygen partial pressure （PaO2） levels （64.12 ± 12 mmHg in FR group vs.114 ± 8.0 mmHg in sham group;P 〈 0.001;1 mmHg =0.133 kPa）.In contrast,these parameters in the BV group （2.27 ± 0.37 ml/min of tidal volume,0.41 ± 0.10 ml/ cmH2O of compliance,and 98.7 ± 9.7 mmHg of PaO2） were significantly higher compared with the I/R group （P =0.004,P 〈 0.001,and P 〈 0.001,respectively）.Compared to the I/R group,the contents of superoxide dismutase were significantly higher （47.07 ± 7.91 U/mg protein vs.33.84 ± 10.15 U/mg protein;P =0.005） while the wet/dry weight ratio （P 〈 0.01）,methane dicarboxylic aldehyde （1.92 ± 0.25 nmol/mg protein vs.2.67 ± 0.46 nmol/mg protein;P 〈 0.001）,and adenosine triphosphate contents （297.05 ± 47.45 nmol/mg protein vs.208.09 ± 29.11 nmol/mg protein;P =0.005） were markedly lower in BV-treated *** analysis revealed that BV alleviated ***,the expression of inflammatory cytokines （interleukin-1 β,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α） was downregulated and the expression of cyclooxygenase-2,inducible nitric oxide synthase,and Jun N-terminal kinase was significantly reduced in BV group （all P 〈 0.01 compared to I/R group）.Fi

Modular assembly of Co4-thiacalix[4]arene units and Keggin-type SiW12O40 for visible-light photothermal conversion

The construction of metal-organic coordination clusters（MCCs） using modular secondary building units is an important method for preparing functional *** this study,two new MCCs modularly assembled from Keggin-type {SiW12O40}H4TC4A=p-tert-Butylthiacalix[4]arene(SiW12) units and thiacalixarene-supported Co4-thiacalix[4]arene(Co4-TC4A polynuclear second-building units（PSBUs,H4TC4A=p-tert-Butylthiacalix[4]arene） are *** two MCCs,abbreviated as Co4-SiW12and Co8-SiW12,were structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray *** Co4-SiW12is a supramolecular structure involving cation-anion interactions between Co4-TC4A PSBUs and ***8-SiW12features "barbell-like" shapes with two Co4-TC4A coordinatively linked to a Keggin-type SiW12unit on opposite via W-O_t-Co *** coordination of Co4-TC4A to SiW12in Co8-SiW12resulted in significantly improved photothermal conversion performances compared with Co4-SiW12and pure SiW12or ***-gap determination and photophysical analysis combined with density functional theory calculations indicated the binding mode between Co4-TC4A PSBUs and SiW12,which considerably influences the way of electron transport and the conversion ability of visible light to heat.

Aim:Severe burn is one of the most severe forms of trauma and usually associated with high *** recent studies have shown that some factors or biomarkers have a predictive effect on post-burn mortality,there is still lack of effective methods for predicting severe burn *** aim of this study was to assess the predictive value of indicators related to complete blood count（CBC） to predict mortality in severe burn ***:This is a retrospective cohort study.A total of 33 patients were included in the *** blood samples were obtained for measuring CBC related *** curve analysis was performed to evaluate the effects of PLT,WBC,NeuC,NeuR,LymR and Hb on mortality in patients with severe ***:All patients with severe burn（92.21±11.93% TBSA） and inhalation injuries were caused by an ***-day mortality was 15.15%,and total in-hospital mortality was 24.24%.For both 40-day and total in-hospital analyses,platelet count and leukocyte count demonstrated good separation between mortality versus *** area under the curve（AUC） of PLT combined with WBC predicting 40-day and in-hospital mortality was 0.921 and 0.935,***:Platelet count and leukocyte count combination improves the prediction of severe burn *** count and leukocyte count may be potential biomarkers for predicting mortality among patients with severe burn injury.

Improvement of Cold Recycled Mixture Performance Based on Improved Density Test Method and RAP Characteristics

Understanding the local structure and thermophysical behavior of Mg-La liquid alloys via machine learning potential

The local structure and thermophysical behavior of Mg-La liquid alloys were in-depth understood using deep potential molecular dynamic(DPMD) simulation driven via machine learning to promote the development of Mg-La alloys. The robustness of the trained deep potential(DP) model was thoroughly evaluated through several aspects, including root-mean-square errors(RMSEs), energy and force data, and structural information comparison results;the results indicate the carefully trained DP model is reliable. The component and temperature dependence of the local structure in the Mg-La liquid alloy was analyzed. The effect of Mg content in the system on the first coordination shell of the atomic pairs is the same as that of temperature. The pre-peak demonstrated in the structure factor indicates the presence of a medium-range ordered structure in the Mg-La liquid alloy, which is particularly pronounced in the 80at% Mg system and disappears at elevated temperatures. The density, self-diffusion coefficient, and shear viscosity for the Mg-La liquid alloy were predicted via DPMD simulation, the evolution patterns with Mg content and temperature were subsequently discussed, and a database was established accordingly. Finally, the mixing enthalpy and elemental activity of the Mg-La liquid alloy at 1200 K were reliably evaluated,which provides new guidance for related studies.

Effect of pyrite content on chalcopyrite flotation under different regrinding conditions

This study aimed to investigate the effect of varying pyrite(Py)content on copper(Cu)in the presence of different regrinding conditions,which were altered using different types of grinding media:iron,ceramic balls,and their mixture,followed by flotation in the cleaner *** flotation performance of rough Cu concentrate can be improved by changing the regrinding conditions based on the Py *** electron microscopy,X-ray spectrometry,ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt extraction,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies illustrated that when the Py content was high,the use of iron media in regrinding promoted the generation of hydrophilic Fe OOH on the surface of Py and improved the Cu *** ceramic medium with a low Py content prevented excessive Fe OOH from covering the surface of chalcopyrite(Cpy).Electrochemical studies further showed that the galvanic corrosion current of Cpy-Py increased with the addition of Py and became stronger with the participation of iron media.

Cholesterol metabolism: physiological versus pathological aspects in intracerebral hemorrhage

Cholesterol is an important component of plasma membranes and participates in many basic life functions,such as the maintenance of cell membrane stability,the synthesis of steroid hormones,and *** plays a key role in the establishment and maintenance of the central nervous *** brain contains 20%of the whole body’s cholesterol,80%of which is located within myelin.A huge number of processes(e.g.,the sterol regulatory element-binding protein pathway and liver X receptor pathway)participate in the regulation of cholesterol metabolism in the brain via mechanisms that include cholesterol biosynthesis,intracellular transport,and *** brain injuries or diseases involving crosstalk among the processes above can affect normal cholesterol metabolism to induce detrimental ***,we hypothesized that cholesterol-related molecules and pathways can serve as therapeutic targets for central nervous system *** hemorrhage is the most severe hemorrhagic stroke subtype,with high mortality and *** cholesterol levels are associated with the risk of intracerebral ***,secondary pathological changes after intracerebral hemorrhage are associated with cholesterol metabolism dysregulation,such as neuroinflammation,demyelination,and multiple types of programmed cell *** cholesterol accumulation in the brain has been found after intracerebral *** this paper,we review normal cholesterol metabolism in the central nervous system,the mechanisms known to participate in the disturbance of cholesterol metabolism after intracerebral hemorrhage,and the links between cholesterol metabolism and cell *** also review several possible and constructive therapeutic targets identified based on cholesterol metabolism to provide cholesterol-based perspectives and a reference for those interested in the treatment of intracerebral hemorrhage.
