In the electromagnetic induction-controlled automated steel teeming(EICAST)technology of ladle,the height and location of the blocking layer are critical factors to determine the structure size and installation location of induction ***,they are also the key parameters affecting the successful implementation of this new *** this paper,the influence of the liquid steel temperature,the holding time and the alloy composition on the height and location of the blocking layer were studied by numerical *** simulation results were verified by 40 t ladle industrial ***,the regulation approach of the blocking layer was determined,and the determination process of coil size and its installation location were also *** results show that the location of the blocking layer moves down with the increase in the liquid steel temperature and the holding *** height of the blocking layer decreases with the increase in the liquid steel temperature;however,it increases with the increase in the holding *** height and location of the blocking layer can be largely adjusted by changing the alloy composition of filling particles in the upper *** the liquid steel temperature is 1550℃,the holding time is 180 min and the alloy composition is confirmed,the melting layer height is 120 mm,and the blocking layer height is 129 mm,which are beneficial to design and installation of induction *** results are very important for the industrial implementation of the EICAST technology.

The Ti0.9Zr0.1V0.2Ni1.5La0.5 alloy samples were synthesized by melt-spinning technique at the different wheel velocity （cooling rate）, and the structure and electrochenfical hydrogen storage properties were investigated. The result indicated that the structure of the melt-spun ribbons mainly contains C14 Laves phase and V-based solid solution phase. The discharge capacity, cyclic stability, high-rate discharge ability and electrochemical kinetic of the alloy electrodes are correlated with the cooling rate （wheel velocity）, and the maximum discharge capacity is over 200 mA.h/g at the wheel velocity of 20 m/s.

It is a well-known fact that a mature seed can survive losing most of its water, yet how seeds acquire desiccation- tolerance is not well understood. Through sampling maize embryos of different developmental stages and comparatively studying the integrity, oxygen consumption rate and activities of antioxidant enzymes in the mitochondria, the main origin site of reactive oxygen species （ROS） production in seed cells, we found that before an embryo achieves desiccation-tolerance, its mitochondria shows a more active metabolism, and might produce more ROS and therefore need a more effective ROS scavenging system. However, embryo dehydration in this developmental stage declined the activities of most main antioxidant enzymes and accumulated thiobarbituric acid-reactive products in mitochondria, and then destroyed the structure and functional integrity of mitochondria. In physiologically-matured embryos （dehydration- tolerant）, mitochondria showed lower metabolism levels, and no decline in ROS scavenging enzyme activities and less accumulation of thiobarbituric acid-reactive products after embryo dehydration. These data indicate that seed desiccation- tolerance acquisition might be associated with down-adjustment of the metabolism level in the late development stage, resulting in less ROS production, and ROS scavenging enzymes becoming desiccation-tolerant and then ensuring the structure and functional integrity of mitochondria.

We report a low-noise, high-signal-to-noise-ratio(SNR) balanced homodyne detector based on the standard transimpedance amplifier circuit and the inductance and capacitance combination for the measurement of the bright squeezed state in the range from 1 kHz to 100 kHz. A capacitance is mounted at the input end of the AC branch to prevent the DC photocurrent from entering the AC branch and avoid AC branch saturation. By adding a switch at the DC branch,the DC branch can be flexibly turned on and off on different occasions. When the switch is on, the DC output provides a monitor signal for laser beam alignment. When the switch is off, the electronic noise of the AC branch is greatly reduced at audio-frequency band due to immunity to the impedance of the DC branch, hence the SNR of the AC branch is significantly improved. As a result, the electronic noise of the AC branch is close to -125 dBm, and the maximum SNR of the AC branch is 48 dB with the incident power of 8 mW in the range from 1 kHz to 100 kHz. The developed photodetector paves a path for measuring the bright squeezed state at audio-frequency band.

To separate Pb from PbSO_(4)-coprecipitated jarosite,a novel thiourea-induced freeze-thaw cycling(T-FTC)process was *** show that distributed PbSO_(4)particles are pressed and aggregated around the jarosite particles by *** the freezing-concentration effect of T-FTC,the reaction between PbSO_(4)and thiourea is also promoted,forming lead thiourea sulfate(Pb-tu).As the cycles of T-FTC increase,PbSO_(4)around jarosite disappears for the reaction of forming *** 12 cycles of T-FTC,a spontaneous separation is observed between Pb-tu and jarosite,i.e.,Pb-tu is separated into the upper layer while jarosite-rich phases remain in the lower *** to this spontaneous separation,leaching toxicity of the jarosite coprecipitates is reduced by 73.7%.These results suggest that T-FTC process can achieve the separation of Pb from PbSO_(4)-coprecipitated jarosite and is a promising approach for removing and recovering metals from iron-rich jarosite residues.

A simple and effective method has been developed to reflect the growth of bacteria CH-1via the potential of the *** results indicate that during the bacterial cultivation,the biomass increases and the potential of the solution decreases over *** relationship between biomass and potential of the solution could be expressed by the equation with constants of a and b whichare all related to species,batch,number,and growth environment of *** the initial pH value is10and the initial biomassis6.55×107cell/mL,the correlated equation of the biomass and the potential of the solution could be divided into two *** of bacteria CH-1is different under various experimental conditions,but the biomass is directly related to the potential of thesolution regardless of the conditions of different initial pH values and bacteria number.
