Competitive assembling strategy to construct carbon nitride homojunctions for boosting photocatalytic performance

Both morphology and composition have a great influence on the properties and functions of materials,however,how to rational modulate both of them to achieve their synergistic effects has been a longstanding ***,we demonstrate a competitive assembling strategy for the construction of metal-free graphite carbon nitride(CN)homojunctions in which morphology and composition can be easily controlled simultaneously by only changing the ratio of assembly raw *** homojunctions are comprised of porous nanotubular S-doped CN(SCN)grafted with CN nanovesicles,which are derived from thermal polycondensation of melamine-thiocyanuric acid(M-T)/melamine-cyanuric acid(M-C)supramolecular hybrid *** unique architecture and component engineering endows the novel SCN-CN homojunction with abundant active sites,enhanced visible trapping ability,and intimate interface *** a result,the synthesized SCN-CN homojunctions demonstrate high photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution and pollutant *** developed strategy opens up intriguing opportu-nities for the rational construction of intricate metal-free heterostructures with controllable architecture and interfacial contact for applications in energy-related fields.

Biotin-modified Galactosylated Chitosan-gene Carrier in Hepatoma Cells Targeting Delivery

Our previous studies have successfully grafted biotin and galactose onto chitosan(CS)and synthesized biotin modified galactosylated chitosan(Bio-GC).The optimum N/P ratio of Bio-GC and plasmid DNA was 3:*** this N/P ratio,the transfection efficiency in the hepatoma cells was the highest with a slow release ***-GC nanomaterials exhibit the protective effect of preventing the gene from nuclease degradation,and can target the transfection into hepatoma cells by combination with galactose and biotin *** transfection rate was inhibited by the competition of galactose and ***-GC nanomaterials were imported into cells’cytoplasm by their receptors,followed by the imported exogenous gene transfected into the ***-GC nanomaterials can also cause inhibitory activity in the hepatoma cells in the model of orthotopic liver transplantation in mice,by carrying the gene through the blood to the hepatoma *** together,bio-GC nanomaterials act as gene vectors with the activity of protecting the gene from DNase degradation,improving the rate of transfection in hepatoma cells,and transporting the gene into the cytoplasm in vitro and in ***,they are efficient hepatoma-targeting gene carriers.

A direct polymeric carbon nitride/tungsten oxide Z-scheme heterostructure for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen generation via reforming of plastics into value-added chemicals

To promote charge transfer and separation for efficient photocatalysis,a direct Z-scheme heterostructure was constructed by coupling polymeric carbon nitride（PCN） and ***,the obtained PCN/WO3Z-scheme heterostructure could photocataly tic ally produce hydrogen and value-added chemicals（e.g.,formate and acetate） by reforming of plastic polylactic acid（PLA） in alkaline aqueous *** optimizing WO3contents and reaction conditions,the obtained PCN/WO3heterostructure exhibits much increased photocatalytic activity for PLA photoreforming under visible light,with hydrogen evolution rate reaching 402.90 μmol·g-1·h-1,which is 3.5 times that of *** is revealed that the Z-scheme charge transfer between PCN and WO3mainly contributes to the promoted charge separation and thus the improved photocatalytic ***,with h+and·OH experimentally evidenced as the predominant active species,a possible reaction pathway for the reforming of PLA into value-added chemicals（e.g.,formate and acetate）over PCN/WO3Z-scheme heterostructure is cleared by monitoring the reaction intermediates and *** work paves a carbon neutrality and scalable route toward the synergistical production of hydrogen and value-added chemicals by utilizing and recycling plastic waste.

Background:Ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI)poses a significant challenge to liver transplantation(LT).The underlying mechanism primarily involves overactivation of the immune *** shock protein 110(HSP110)functions as a molecular chaperone that helps stabilize protein ***:An IRI model was established by performing LT on Sprague-Dawley rats,and HSP110 was silenced using ***-eosin staining,TUNEL,immunohistochemistry,ELISA and liver enzyme analysis were performed to assess IRI following *** blotting and quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction were conducted to investigate the pertinent molecular ***:Our findings revealed a significant increase in the expression of HSP110 at both the mRNA and protein levels in the rat liver following LT(P<0.05).However,when rats were injected with siRNAHSP110,IRI subsequent to LT was notably reduced(P<0.05).Additionally,the levels of liver enzymes and inflammatory chemokines in rat serum were significantly reduced(P<0.05).Silencing HSP110 with siRNA resulted in a marked decrease in M1-type polarization of Kupffer cells in the liver and downregulated the NF-κB pathway in the liver(P<0.05).Conclusions:HSP110 in the liver promotes IRI after LT in rats by activating the NF-κB pathway and inducing M1-type polarization of Kupffer *** HSP110 to prevent IRI after LT may represent a promising new approach for the treatment of LT-associated IRI.

Direct methanol fuel cell technology recently becomes the focus of both academic and engineering circles,which stimulates the exploitation and utilization of advanced electrode catalysts with high activity and long ***,we demonstrate a robust bottom-up approach to the spatial construction of three-dimensional(3D) spinel manganese-cobalt oxide-modified N-doped graphene nanoarchitectures decorated with ultrasmall Pt nanoparticles(Pt/MnCo_(2)O_(4)-NG) via a controllable selfassembly *** incorporation of MnCo_(2)O_(4)nanocrystals provides abundant hydroxyl sources to promote the oxidative removal of CO-like byproducts on Pt sites,while the existence of 3D porous N-doped graphene networks facilitates the transportation of both ions and electrons in the hybrid system,thus giving rise to remarkable synergetic coupling effects during the methanol oxidation ***,the optimized Pt/MnCo_(2)O_(4)-NG nano architecture expres ses exceptional electrocatalytic properties with a large electrochemically active surface area of 99.5 m^(2)·g^(-1),a high mass activity of1508.3 mA·mg^(-1),strong toxicity resistance and reliable long-term durability,which have obvious competitive advantages over those of conventional Pt/carbon black,Pt/carbon nano tube,Pt/graphene,and Pt/N-doped graphene catalysts with the same Pt usage.

熟人社会规范向契约市场规范过渡的背景下,传统牧区畜牧代管现象开始普遍化。代理人利用信息优势实现事后机会主义行为,委托人则采用弱监管策略应对道德风险。以新疆克拉玛依市小拐乡为案例,深入分析代牧人道德风险和委托人自发性弱监管行为的背景、发生机制和收益分配。通过分析契约设计并构建嵌入非正式制度的博弈模型,研究发现:代牧弱监管的产生与村庄产业结构、农牧户收入结构以及代牧市场类型有关。对比市场化下的工资制与承包制契约,弱违约和弱监管主要存在于工资制代牧合同中,“沉默的羔羊”本质是代牧契约中的收益分配问题,代牧人以“固定工资+浮动工资”形式获取更多剩余。委托人监督策略受到契约惩罚机制和道德声誉机制相对强度的调节,道德声誉机制占优时,委托人弱监管行为符合经济理性。促进传统农牧村庄转型,既要尊重村庄及其产业发展的自然规律,正视非正式制度的重要作用,也要适度优化契约设计,探索新型合作托养模式。

Metformin administration in prevention of colorectal polyps in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients

BACKGROUND Colorectal polyps are frequently observed in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM),posing a significant risk for colorectal ***,a widely prescribed biguanidine drug for type 2 DM,has been suggested to have potential chemoprophylactic effects against various *** To explore the correlation between colorectal polyps and metformin use in type 2 DM *** Type 2 DM patients were categorized into polyp and non-polyp *** this,all patients were categorized into the type 2 DM-metformin,type 2 DM-non-metformin,and non-type 2 DM *** on the baseline colonoscopy results,we performed pairwise comparisons of the incidence of colorectal polyps among the three ***,we analyzed the relationship between colorectal polyps and the duration of metformin use and between the size and number of polyps and metformin ***,we focused on the specific pathological types of polyps and analyzed their relationship with metformin ***,we compared the incidence of polyps between metformin and non-metformin groups according to the interval colonoscopy *** The rate of metformin use in patients with colorectal polyps was 0.502 times that of patients without colorectal polyps[odds ratio(OR)=0.502,95%confidence interval(CI):0.365-0.689;P0.05).Furthermore,the correlations between the duration of metformin use and the incidence of colorectal polyps and between the size and number of polyps and metformin use were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Metformin use did not affect the incidence of colorectal polyps during interval colonoscopy(P>0.05).CONCLUSION Metformin use and colorectal polyp incidence in type 2 DM patients showed a negative correlation,independent of the hypoglycemic effect of metformin.

pH-responsive metal nanoparticles as high contrast theranostic agents for selective imaging and synergistic cancer therapy

The low signal-to-noise ratio(S/N) and single functionality of fluorescence imaging agents have limited their practical applications. Bright two-photon excitation(2PE) imaging probes are highly desirable in vivo with larger imaging depth, minor autofluorescence background, and less photodamage. Herein, we developed responsive aggregated gold nanoparticles(Au NPs)as high contrast 2PE imaging agents, capable of emitting red fluorescence upon excitation of near-infrared(NIR) laser and possessing a high signal-to-noise ratio(S/N of 2,475). By forming aggregates in situ inside tumor tissue, doxorubicin hydrochloride(DOX)-loaded mix-charged gold nanoparticles(DOX-MC-Au NPs) were utilized to act as selective fluorescence imaging probes and precise therapy agents. These high-contrast theranostic agents offer a promising potential for precise cancer imaging and therapy, which might open a new venue to multifunctional and noninvasive theranostics.

BACKGROUND Myocardial infarction(MI)is a critical cardiovascular event with multifaceted etiology,involving several genetic and environmental *** is essential to understand the function of plasma metabolites in the development of MI and unravel its complex *** This study employed a bidirectional Mendelian randomization(MR)approach to investigate the causal relationships between plasma metabolites and MI *** used genetic instruments as proxies for plasma metabolites and MI and conducted MR analyses in both directions to assess the impact of metabolites on MI risk and vice *** addition,the large-scale genome-wide association studies datasets was used to identify genetic variants associated with plasma metabolite(1400 metabolites)and MI(20,917 individuals with MI and 440,906 individuals without MI)*** variance weighted was the primary method for estimating causal *** estimates are expressed as beta coefficients or odds ratio(OR)with 95%*** We identified 14 plasma metabolites associated with the occurrence of MI(P<0.05),among which 8 plasma metabolites[propionylglycine levels(OR=0.922,95%CI:0.881–0.965,P<0.001),gamma-glutamylglycine levels(OR=0.903,95%CI:0.861–0.948,P<0.001),hexadecanedioate(C16-DC)levels(OR=0.941,95%CI:0.911–0.973,P<0.001),pentose acid levels(OR=0.923,95%CI:0.877–0.972,P=0.002),X-24546 levels(OR=0.936,95%CI:0.902–0.971,P<0.001),glycine levels(OR=0.936,95%CI:0.909–0.964,P<0.001),glycine to serine ratio(OR=0.930,95%CI:0.888–0.974,P=0.002),and mannose to trans-4-hydroxyproline ratio(OR=0.912,95%CI:0.869–0.958,P<0.001)]were correlated with a decreased risk of MI,whereas the remaining 6 plasma metabolites[1-palmitoyl-2-arachidonoyl-GPE(16:0/20:4)levels(OR=1.051,95%CI:1.018–1.084,P=0.002),behenoyl dihydrosphingomyelin(d18:0/22:0)levels(OR=1.076,95%CI:1.027–1.128,P=0.002),1-stearoyl-2-docosahexaenoyl-GPE(18:0/22:6)levels(OR=1.067,95%CI:1.027–1.109,P=0.001),alpha-ketobutyrate levels(OR=1.108,95%
