Dense copper azide synthesized by in-situ reaction of assembled nanoporous copper microspheres and its initiation performance

Copper azide with high density was successfully synthesized by in-situ reaction of nanoporous copper(NPC)precursor with HN_(3) gaseous.NPC with pore size of about 529 nm has been prepared by electroless plating using polystyrene(PS)as templates.The copper shells thickness of NPC was controlled by adjusting the PS loading amount.The effects of copper shell on the morphology,structure and density of copper azide were investigated.The conversion increased from 87.12%to 95.31%when copper shell thickness decrease from 100 to 50 nm.Meanwhile,the density of copper azide prepared by 529 nm NPC for 24 h was up to 2.38 g/cm^(3).The hollow structure of this NPC was filled by swelling of copper azide which guaranteed enough filling volume for keeping the same shape as well as improving the charge density.Moreover,HNS-IV explosive was successfully initiated by copper azide with minimum charge thickness of 0.55 mm,showing that copper azide prepared has excellent initiation performance,which has more advantages in the application of miniaturized explosive systems.

BACKGROUND Oncologic immunotherapy is attracting attention as an effective strategy for cancer treatment. Currently, there are two kinds of inhibitors: Anti-PD-1 antibodies and anti-PD-L1 antibodies. These inhibitors have shown significant implications in improving the outcomes of certain cancer types in recent years.However, along with its effectiveness, adverse events cannot be ignored. As an anti-PD-1 antibody, camrelizumab(SHR-1210) has some side effects in tumor immunotherapy. The most common adverse event is reactive capillary hemangioma. While it is widely reported to occur in the skin, gingival reactive capillary hemangioma is rarely reported.CASE SUMMARY A 54-year-old man complained of gingival overgrowth on the anterior aspect of the maxilla and mandible for more than 6 mo. He had been placed on SHR-1210 for lung cancer for 7 mo. A gingival mass extending from canine to canine was noted on the lingual surfaces of the mandible. Gingival enlargement was noted in the front teeth. A clinical diagnosis of gingival reactive capillary hemangioma and chronic periodontitis was made. The treatment involved a complex local treatment(repeated local applications of an antibiotic paste, scaling and root planning, and surgery). The excised tissue was sent for histopathological examination, which confirmed the diagnosis of capillary hemangioma. After the operation, most of the gingival enlargement was reduced. At the 2-mo follow-up,it was noted that the gingival overgrowth was immediately reduced after the replacement of the anti-PD-1 agent with an anti-PD-L1 agent.CONCLUSION As the prescription for SHR-1210 has increased considerably in recent years, the occurrence of its possible side effects, including gingival reactive capillary hemangioma, has increased. It is recommended that regular oral examinations be performed before and during the treatment of tumors with SHR-1210.

Epigenetic regulation includes changes of DNA methylation and modifications of histone proteins and is essential for normal physiologic functions,especially for controlling gene expression.Epigenetic dysregulation plays a key role in disease pathogenesis and progression of some malignancies,including acute myeloid leukemia(AML).Epigenetic therapies,including hypomethylating agents(HMAs)and histone deacetylase(HDAC)inhibitors,were developed to reprogram the epigenetic abnormalities in AML.However,the molecular mechanisms and therapeutic effects of the two agents alone or their combination remain unknown.An overview of these epigenetic therapies is given here.A literature search was conducted through PubMed database,looking for important biological or clinical studies related to the epigenetic regimens in the treatment of AML until October 15th,2019.Various types of articles,including original research and reviews,were assessed,identified,and eventually summarized as a collection of data pertaining the mechanisms and clinical effects of HMAs and HDAC inhibitors in AML patients.We provided here an overview of the current understanding of the mechanisms and clinical therapeutic effects involved in the treatment with HMAs and HDAC inhibitors alone,the combination of epigenetic therapies with intensive chemotherapy,and the combination of both types of epigenetic therapies.Relevant clinical trials were also discussed.Generally speaking,the large number of studies and their varied outcomes demonstrate that effects of epigenetic therapies are heterogeneous,and that HMAs combination regimens probably contribute to significant response rates.However,more research is needed to explore therapeutic effects of HDAC inhibitors and various combinations of HMAs and HDAC inhibitors.

Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)have become useful tools to extend human abilities and capacities.Currently UAVs are being used for the surveillance of environmental factors related to the transmission of infectious diseases.They have also been used for delivering therapeutic drugs and life-saving supplies to patients or isolated persons in extreme conditions.There have been very few applications of UAVs for disease surveillance,control and prevention to date.However,we foresee many uses for these machines in the fight against zoonotic disease.The control of zoonoses has been a big challenge as these diseases are naturally maintained in animal populations.Among 868 reported zoonoses,echinococcosis(hydatid disease)is one of the most severe public health problems and listed as one of 17 neglected tropical diseases targeted for control by the World Health Organization.Infected dogs(domestic or stray)play the most important role as definitive hosts in maintaining the transmission of echinococcosis.However,the actual contribution of wild canines to transmission has received little attention as yet,but should certainly not be ignored.This paper summarizes the history of development and application of UAVs,with an emphasis on their potential use for zoonosis control.As an example,we outline a pilot trial of echinococcosis control in the qinghai-Tibet Plateau region,in which UAVs were used to deliver baits with praziquantel for wildlife deworming.The data suggested that this is a cost-effective and efficient approach to the control of zoonotic diseases transmitted among wild animal populations.

The perfluoroalkylsulfonylation(CF_(3)SO_(2),C_(2)F_(5)SO_(2)and CHF_(2)SO_(2))in the enaminone C-H bonds has been developed simply via the promotion of molecular iodine by using stable and cheap sodium perfluoroalkyl sulfinates as coupling partners.The stereoselective synthesis of E-configuratedα-perfluoroalkylsulfonyl enaminones has been realized via unprecedented C-H bond elaboration and C=C double bond configuration inversion by free radical process.

DNA damage occurs across tumorigenesis and tumor development.Tumor intrinsic DNA damage can not only increase the risk of mutations responsible for tumor generation but also initiate a cellular stress response to orchestrate the tumor immune microenvironment(TIME)and dominate tumor progression.Accumulating evidence documents that multiple signaling pathways,including cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of interferon genes(cGAS-STING)and ataxia telangiectasia-mutated protein/ataxia telangiectasia and Rad3-related protein(ATM/ATR),are activated downstream of DNA damage and they are associated with the secretion of diverse cytokines.These cytokines possess multifaced functions in the anti-tumor immune response.Thus,it is necessary to deeply interpret the complex TIME reshaped by damaged DNA and tumor-derived cytokines,critical for the development of effective tumor therapies.This manuscript comprehensively reviews the relationship between the DNA damage response and related cytokines in tumors and depicts the dual immunoregulatory roles of these cytokines.We also summarize clinical trials targeting signaling pathways and cytokines associated with DNA damage andprovide future perspectives on emerging technologies.

The combined effect of cavitation and silt abrasion presents a great challenge and threat to secure the operation and the efficiency of hydraulic machineries working in sediment-laden fluid.The present paper critically reviews the current research progress on the interaction mechanisms of the bubbles and the particles.Firstly,the analytical models including boundary treatment methods for predicting the jet dynamics of the bubble collapse near particles are demonstrated.Secondly,the bubble collapsing dynamics,jet dynamics and shock wave characteristics near particles are revealed both experimentally and numerically.Finally,the bubble-particle-wall system is investigated with a focus on microjets.

Objective Vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC)differentiation from stem cells is one source of the increasing number of VSMCs that are involved in vascular remodeling-related diseases such as hypertension,atherosclerosis,and restenosis.MicroRNA-146a(miR-146a)has been proven to be involved in cell proliferation,migration,and tumor metabolism.However,little is known about the functional role of miR-146a in VSMC differentiation from embryonic stem cells(ESCs).This study aimed to determine the role of miR-146a in VSMC differentiation from ESCs.Methods Mouse ESCs were differentiated into VSMCs,and the cell extracts were analyzed by Western blotting and RT-qPCR.In addition,luciferase reporter assays using ESCs transfected with miR-146a/mimic and plasmids were performed.Finally,C57BL/6J female mice were injected with mimic or miR-146a-overexpressing ESCs,and immunohistochemistry,Western blotting,and RT-qPCR assays were carried out on tissue samples from these mice.Results miR-146a was significantly upregulated during VSMC differentiation,accompanied with the VSMC-specific marker genes smooth muscle-alpha-actin(SMαA),smooth muscle 22(SM22),smooth muscle myosin heavy chain(SMMHC),and h1-calponin.Furthermore,overexpression of miR-146a enhanced the differentiation process in vitro and in vivo.Concurrently,the expression of Kruppel-like factor 4(KLF4),predicted as one of the top targets of miR-146a,was sharply decreased in miR-146a-overexpressing ESCs.Importantly,inhibiting KLF4 expression enhanced the VSMC-specific gene expression induced by miR-146a overexpression in differentiating ESCs.In addition,miR-146a upregulated the mRNA expression levels and transcriptional activity of VSMC differentiation-related transcription factors,including serum response factor(SRF)and myocyte enhancer factor 2c(MEF-2c).Conclusion Our data support that miR-146a promotes ESC-VSMC differentiation through regulating KLF4 and modulating the transcription factor activity of VSMCs.

This paper is concerned with the cooperative target tracking of multiple autonomous surface vehicles(ASVs)under switching interaction topologies.For the target to be tracked,only its position can be measured/received by some of the ASVs,and its velocity is unavailable to all the ASVs.A distributed extended state observer taking into consideration switching topologies is designed to integrally estimate unknown target dynamics and neighboring ASVs'dynamics.Accordingly,a novel kinematic controller is designed,which takes full advantage of known information and avoids the approximation of some virtual control vectors.Moreover,a disturbance observer is presented to estimate unknown time-varying environmental disturbance.Furthermore,a distributed dynamic controller is designed to regulate the involved ASVs to cooperatively track the target.It enables each ASV to adjust its forces and moments according to the received information from its neighbors.The effectiveness of the derived results is demonstrated through cooperative target tracking performance analysis for a tracking system composed of five interacting ASVs.
