Healthy and livable living environments,as well as anti-electromagnetic(EM)radiation buildings,are the long-term goals of human *** introduction of advanced EM wave absorbing materials into buildings is one of the most feasible ways to address the increasing EM pollution in building ***-efficiency,broadband,low-cost and good building performance EM wave absorbing materials,as an important support in the field of sustainable building,has gradually become the hotspot ***,we review the research progress of building materials with EM wave absorption functions,and comb their classification,including cement,concrete,ceramics,and prefabs,especially highlighting the advanced coating *** objectively outline and evaluate the latest technology of building materials with EM wave absorption performance,and discuss the main problems and bottlenecks,highlighting potential research opportunities.

In this paper,we present a novel ocean visualization framework,which focuses on analyzing multidimensional and spatiotemporal ocean ***-based visualization methods are explored to effectively visualize ocean *** improved ray casting algorithm for heterogeneous multisection ocean volume data is presented.A two-layer spherical shell is taken as the ocean data proxy geometry,which enables oceanographers to obtain a real geographic background based on global *** efficient ray sampling technique including an adaptive sampling technique and a preintegrated transfer function is proposed to achieve high-effectiveness and high-efficiency ***,an interactive transfer function is also designed to analyze the 3D structure of ocean temperature and salinity anomaly *** on the framework,an integrated visualization system called i4Ocean is *** visualization of ocean temperature and salinity anomalies extracted interactively by the transfer function is demonstrated.

Microstructure Evolution and Recrystallization Behavior of Friction Stir Welded Thick Al-Mg-Zn-Cu alloys:Influence of Pin Centerline Deviation

Four tools with different pin centerline deviations were fabricated to friction stir weld(FSW)thick plates of Al-Mg-Zn-Cu *** results show that,compared with the pin without pin centerline deviation,the applying of pin centerline deviation is favorable to improve the flowability of plastic material,enlarging the size of nugget zone,refining the grains and reprecipitated phase particles,enhancing the degrees of dynamic recrystallization and quantity of high angle grain boundaries owing to higher temperature and bigger eccentric force,resulting in the increase of strain *** for the used pin with a centerline deviation of 0.2 mm,the highest average hardness and best metallurgical properties of thick FSW joints are produced,and which are consistent with the microstructure evolution and recrystallization ***,the fracture mode of the joints produced by the pins with centerline deviation from 0 mm to 0.3 mm changes gradually from a brittle fracture in the nugget zone(NZ)to a ductile failure in the HAZ.

Phenylalanine ammonia-lyase gene families in cucurbit species: Structure, evolution, and expression

Phenylalanine ammonia-lyase （PAL）, the first enzyme of phenylpropanoid pathway, is always encoded by multigene families in plants. In this study, using genome-wide searches, 13 PAL genes in cucumber （CsPAL1-13） and 13 PALs in melon （Cm- PALl-13） were identified. In the corresponding genomes, ten of these PAL genes were located in tandem in two clusters, while the others were widely dispersed in different chromosomes as a single copy. The protein sequences of CsPALs and CmPALs shared an overall high identity to each other. In our previous report, 12 PAL genes were identified in watermelon （CIPAL1-12）. Thereby, a total of 38 cucurbit PAL members were included. Here, a comprehensive comparison of PAL gene families was performed among three cucurbit plants. The phylogenetic and syntenic analyses placed the cucurbit PALs as 11 CsPAL-CmPAL-CIPAL triples, of which ten triples were clustered into the dicot group, and the remaining one, CsPAL1-CmPAL8-CIPAL2, was grouped with gymnosperm PALs and might serve as an ancestor of cucurbit PALs. By comparing the syntenic relationships and gene structure of these PAL genes, the expansion of cucurbit PAL families might arise from a series of segmental and tandem duplications and intron insertion events. Furthermore, the expression profiling in different tissues suggested that different cucurbit PALs displayed divergent but overlapping expression profiles, and the CsPAL-CmPAL-CIPAL orthologs showed correlative expression patterns among three cucurbit plants. Taken together, this study provided an extensive description on the evolution and expression of cucurbit PAL gene families and might facilitate the further studies for elucidating the functions of PALs in cucurbit plants.

The hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) – as an essential half reaction in water electrolysis and chlor-alkali process has been well studied in acidic electrolyte, but much less has been known in basic medium. In this study, by combining kinetic modeling and electrochemical measurements, we show that hydrated alkali cation clusters can adsorb on the surface of HER catalyst in basic electrolyte. The bound H2 O molecules in the "clusters" can thus be in-situ activated through the hydration effect, which dissociate on the catalyst surface as the reactant of HER. The effective concentration and hydration energy of alkali cation can influence the H2 O dissociation rate, and hence the kinetics of HER. Our work demonstrates a new understanding of the HER mechanism in basic reaction electrolyte.

One of the major challenges associated with fuel cells is the design of highly efficient electrocatalysts to reduce the high overpotential of the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Here we report Polyaniline (PANI) based micro/nanomaterials with or without transition metals, prepared by the emulsion polymerization and subsequent heat treatment. PANI microspheres with the diameter of about 0.7 mu m have been prepared in basic (NH3 solution) condition, using two different types of surfactant (CTAB, SDS) as the stabilizer, ammonium persulphate (APS) as oxidant with aniline/surfactants molar ratio at 1/1 under the hydrothermal treatment. PANI nanorods, Fe-PANI, and Fe-Co-PANI have been synthesized in acidic (HCI) medium with aniline/surfactants molar ratio at 1/2 and polymerization carried out without stirring for 24 h. Products mainly Fe-Co-PANI have shown high current density with increasing sweep rate and excellent specific capacitance 1753 F/g at the scan rate of 1 mV/s. Additionally, it has shown high thermal stability by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Fe-PANI has been investigated for excellent performance toward ORR with four electron selectivity in the basic electrolyte. The PANI-based catalysts from emulsion polymerization demonstrate that the method is valuable for making non-precious metal heterogeneous electrocatalysts for ORR or energy storage and conversion technology. We also summarize the clinical characteristics of EPP with liver injury, and put forward some suggestions on EPP to provide a reference for the diagnosis of such rare *** A new mutation locus(c.32_35 dupCCCT) which may be related to the disease was found by detecting the FECH gene in the pedigree of this case.

A gas Raman light source based on a H2−filled hollow-core photonic-crystal-fiber cell with a Q-switched fiber laser followed by a fiber amplifier as the Raman pump source is *** Stokes frequency-shift lasing line is observed at 1135.7 nm with the Q-switched pump pulses at 1064.7 *** experimental results show that the generated Stokes pulse is much narrower than the pump pulse,and the generated Stokes pulse duration is increased with the single pulse energy for the same duration pump *** the 125 ns pump pulses with a repetition rate of 5 kHz,the Raman threshold pump energy and the conversion efficiency at the Raman threshold are 2.13µJ and 9.82%.Moreover,by choosing narrower pump pulses,the Raman threshold pump energy may be reduced and the conversion efficiency may be improved.
