The design of high-performance electrocatalysts for alkaline water splitting is of significant importance for the development of a sustainable hydrogen economy.Herein,heterostructured Co_(3)Mo nanoparti-cles/porous CoMoO_(3)nanosheets(Co_(3)Mo/CoMoO_(3)NPSs)were constructed for alkaline water splitting by annealing CoMoO x nanosheets under controlled atmospheres.Thanks to its interfacial electronic structure and increased electrochemical active area,Co_(3)Mo/CoMoO_(3)NPSs exhibit impressive hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)activity with an overpotential of 334 mV at 1000 mA cm^(-2) and a Tafel slope of 46.4 mV per decade in 1.0 M KOH,which outperforms Pt/C catalyst(621 mV and 74.7 mV per decade).Density functional theory calculations illustrate the electron transfer from Co_(3)Mo to CoMoO_(3)at the interfaces,where electron accumulation on CoMoO_(3)favors the dissociation of H_(2)O molecule,and electron-deficient Co atoms in Co_(3)Mo have optimized H∗absorption energy for HER.The Co_(3)Mo/CoMoO_(3)NPSs also exhibit higher oxygen evolution reaction activity than the RuO_(2)catalyst.Moreover,the water electrolyzer us-ing Co_(3)Mo/CoMoO_(3)NPSs as both cathode and anode only requires 1.59 V to deliver a current density of 100 mA cm^(-2)in 1.0 M KOH,which outperforms benchmark Pt/C||RuO_(2)electrodes couple with 1.69 V to reach the same current density,providing great potential for large-scale applications.

In this study,a novel diagonally inserted bar-type basalt fiber reinforced polymer(BFRP)connector was proposed,aiming to achieve both construction convenience and partially composite behavior in precast concrete sandwich panels(PCSPs).First,pull-out tests were conducted to evaluate the anchoring performance of the connector in concrete after exposure to different temperatures.Thereafter,direct shear tests were conducted to investigate the shear performance of the connector.After the test on the individual performance of the connector,five façade PCSP specimens with the bar-type BFRP connector were fabricated,and the out-of-plane flexural performance was tested under a uniformly distributed load.The investigating parameters included the panel length,opening condition,and boundary condition.The results obtained in this study primarily indicated that 1)the bar-type BFRP connector can achieve a reliable anchorage system in concrete;2)the bar-type BFRP connector can offer sufficient stiffness and capacity to achieve a partially composite PCSP;3)the boundary condition of the panel considerably influenced the out-of-plane flexural performance and composite action of the investigated façade PCSP.

In order to reduce the air pollution by traditional fossil fuel and save the charging cost, much attention has been paid to the charging scheduling of electric vehicles(EVs) in the uncertain supplement of wind power and solar power. Owing to the randomness in the renewable power generation and the EV charging demand, simulation-based policy improvement(SBPI) has been well adopted for making charging decision. However, it is challenging to explore the large action space which grows exponentially with respect to the system scale. We consider this important problem in this paper and make the following contributions.First, we explore the structural property of the problem and develop an urgency index to rank the EVs.Second, we apply three methods to search in the action space. Third, we numerically demonstrate the performance of the urgency index and the search methods, and compare the SBPI methods with the CPLEXbased method. It shows that SBPI improves the base policies in all these cases.

A novel-type material based on metal doped 2D InSe (M@2DInSe) has been proposed for CO sensing.The results reveal that the conventional Blyholder mechanism can be applicable to M@2DInSe systems,and the charge transfer between CO and M@2DInSe can serve as an effective measurement for the adsorption energy of CO.In M@2DInSe,the response of electronic structures towards CO adsorption is also strongly correlated with the adsorption energy of CO,demonstrating an apparent metal-to-insulator transition for Fe@2DInSe and Mo@2DInSe under the influence of CO adsorption.These findings provide a new material-design scheme to detect CO molecules and promising candidates for further experimental studies.

The two-orbital Hubbard model is studied numerically by using the Hartree-Fock approximation in both real space and momentum space, and the ground-state properties of the alkali metal iron selenide semiconducting KFel.5Se2 are investigated. A rhombus-type Fe vacancy order with stripe- type antiferromagnetic （AFM） order is found, as was observed in neutron scattering experiments [J. Zhao, et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 109, 267003 （2012）]. Hopping parameters are obtained by fitting the experimentally observed stripe AFM phase in real space. These hopping parameters are then used to study the ground-state properties of the semiconductor in momentum space. It is found to be a strongly correlated system with a large on-site Coulomb repulsion U, similar to the AFM Mort insulator -- the parent compound of copper oxide superconductors. We also find that the electronic occupation numbers and magnetizations in the dxz and dyz orbitals become different simultaneously when U 〉 Uc （～3.4 eV）, indicating orbital ordering. These results imply that the rotational symmetry between the two orbitals is broken by orbital ordering and thus drives the strong anisotropy of the magnetic coupling that has been observed by experiments and that the stripe-type AFM order in this compound may be caused by orbital ordering together with the observed large anisotropy.

The combination of network function virtualization and software-defined networking allows various network functions to process flows according to their characteristics and requirements.Due to the highly dynamic nature of the workload,the network infrastructure needs to properly schedule the underlying resources in order to respond to workload changes in a timely manner.However,the existing NFV platform lacks a comprehensive solution for how to scale under workload variation,which may seriously hurt the overall system performance.To improve the scalability of the NFV platform and ensure consistent high performance under dynamic workloads,we propose AdaptNF,a novel NFV platform designed to support a combination of course-grained and fine-grained resource scheduling strategies.To deal with resource imbalance,which is the essential scheduling problem that leads to insufficient NFV performance,AdaptNF adopts a novel algorithm that can efficiently balance the workload among multiple network function instances through stateless flow migration.Our controlled experiments show that the AdaptNF scheme can optimize resource allocation and ensure outstanding performance after scaling.In terms of network throughput and latency,AdaptNF significantly improves the performance of the underlying NFV platform.

Thanks to inexpensive and bountiful potassium resources,potassium ion batteries(PIBs)have come into the spotlight as viable alternatives for next-generation battery systems.However,poor electrochemical kinetics due to the large size of the K^(+) is a major challenge for PIB anodes.In this paper,an ingenious design of VN nanoparticleassembled hollow microspheres within N-containing intertwined carbon nanofibers(VN-NPs/N-CNFs)via an electrospinning process is reported.Employed as PIB anodes,VN-NPs/N-CNFs exhibit a superb rate property and prolonged cyclability,surpassing that of other reported metal nitride-based anodes.This is ascribed to:(i)the VN NP-assembled hollow microspheres,which shorten the K^(+) diffusion distance,and mitigate volume expansion;and(ii)the interconnected N-CNFs,which supply numerous active sites for K^(+) adsorption and facilitate rapid electron/ion transport.

Large bone defects resulting from fractures and disease are a major clinical challenge,being often unable to heal spontaneously by the body’s repair mechanisms.Lines of evidence have shown that hypoxia-induced overproduction of ROS in bone defect region has a major impact on delaying bone regeneration.However,replenishing excess oxygen in a short time cause high oxygen tension that affect the activity of osteoblast precursor cells.Therefore,reasonably restoring the hypoxic condition of bone microenvironment is essential for facilitating bone repair.Herein,we designed ROS scavenging and responsive prolonged oxygen-generating hydrogels(CPP-L/GelMA)as a“bone microenvironment regulative hydrogel”to reverse the hypoxic microenvironment in bone defects region.CPP-L/GelMA hydrogels comprises an antioxidant enzyme catalase(CAT)and ROS-responsive oxygen-releasing nanoparticles(PFC@PLGA/PPS)co-loaded liposome(CCP-L)and GelMA hydrogels.Under hypoxic condition,CPP-L/GelMA can release CAT for degrading hydrogen peroxide to generate oxygen and be triggered by superfluous ROS to continuously release the oxygen for more than 2 weeks.The prolonged oxygen enriched microenvironment generated by CPP-L/GelMA hydrogel significantly enhanced angiogenesis and osteogenesis while inhibited osteoclastogenesis.Finally,CPP-L/GelMA showed excellent bone regeneration effect in a mice skull defect model through the Nrf2-BMAL1-autophagy pathway.Hence,CPP-L/GelMA,as a bone microenvironment regulative hydrogel for bone tissue respiration,can effectively scavenge ROS and provide prolonged oxygen supply according to the demand in bone defect region,possessing of great clinical therapeutic potential.

The Earth’s“lithosphere”is its outer shell,made up of the Earth’s crust and outermost mantle.The part of the Earth’s magnetic field that originates in the lithosphere consists of a superposition of magnetic anomalies with a broad spectrum of sizes and intensities,which arise from geological and tectonic features.The lithospheric magnetic field is known from surface observations,and on larger scales from above-surface measurements.The increase in recent decades of satellites dedicated to measuring the Earth’s magnetic field has improved significantly our models of the Earth’s magnetic environment.Based on these increasing observations,a number of comprehensive field models have been constructed,some of which focus solely on the lithosphere,such as the MF model series.We present a map of lithospheric magnetic anomalies at 400 km altitude,based on a vertically integrated magnetization model.This height was chosen because it is the expected orbital altitude of the Macao Science Satellite-1(MSS-1)mission.The model presented herein indicates that the amplitude of the lithospheric anomalies at 400 km altitude is between-14.8 n T and 18.2 n T.This information is useful because it provides a reference for the lithospheric source of the Earth’s magnetic field that contributes to the magnetic measurements made from satellite instruments.The low inclination orbit of the MSS-1 mission will provide information that is sensitive to lateral variation within the lithosphere;these variations arise from plate tectonic features with longitudinal extent.In conclusion,the new MSS-1mission will provide valuable information in detecting compositional variations in the lithosphere,and in delineating large-scale geological structures.

To study the flexural behavior of prestressed concrete beams with high-strength steel reinforcement and high-strength concrete and improve the crack width calculation method for flexural components with such reinforcement and concrete,12 specimens were tested under static loading.The failure modes,flexural strength,ductility,and crack width of the specimens were analyzed.The results show that the failure mode of the test beams was similar to that of the beams with normal reinforced concrete.A brittle failure did not occur in the specimens.To further understand the working mechanism,the results of other experimental studies were collected and discussed.The results show that the normalized reinforcement ratio has a greater effect on the ductility than the concrete strength.The cracking-and peak-moment formulas in the code for the design of concrete(GB 50010-2010)applied to the beams were both found to be acceptable.However,the calculation results of the maximum crack width following GB 50010-2010 and EN 1992-1-1:2004 were considerably conservative.In the context of GB 50010-2010,a revised formula for the crack width is proposed with modifications to two major factors:the average crack spacing and an amplification coefficient of the maximum crack width to the average spacing.The mean value of the ratio of the maximum crack width among the 12 test results and the relative calculation results from the revised formula is 1.017,which is better than the calculation result from GB 50010-2010.Therefore,the new formula calculates the crack width more accurately in high-strength concrete and high-strength steel reinforcement members.Finally,finite element models were established using ADINA software and validated based on the test results.This study provides an important reference for the development of high-strength concrete and highstrength steel reinforcement structures.
