Clinical characteristics and distribution of hepatitis B virus genotypes in Guangxi Zhuang population

AIM: To investigate the distribution of HBV genotypes and their YMDD mutations in Guangxi Zhuang population, China, and to study the relationship between HBV genotypes and clinical types of HB, ALT, HBV DNA, HBe system as well as the curative effect of Lamivudine (LAM) on hepatitis ***: A total of 156 cases were randomly chosen as study subjects from 317 patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). HBV genotypes were determined by PCR-microcosmic nucleic acid cross-ELISA. YMDD mutations were detected by microcosmic nucleic acid cross-nucleic acid quantitative determination. HBV DNA was detected by fluorescence ratio PCR *** was given to 81 cases and its curative effect was observed by measuring ALT, HBV DNA load, HBeAg, and HBeAg/HBeAb conversion ***: HBV genotypes B, C, D, and non-classified genotypes were found in Guangxi Zhuang *** for 25.6%, 47.4%, 58.3%, and 16.0%,respectively. Seventy-four cases were CD-, CB-, BD-mixed genotypes (47.7%). Forty-six (29.5%) cases had YMDD mutations. Genotype B was mostly found in mild and moderate CHB patients. Genotypes C, D and mixed genotype mostly occurred in severe CHB *** D and CD HBV-infected patients had higher ALT and HBV DNA than patients with other types of HBV infection. There was no significant difference among the genotypes in YMDD mutations, clinical types, ALT and HBV DNA level. Non-classified types geno had a significantly lower positive rate of HBeAg than other genotypes (x2= 12.841, P＜0.05). There was no significant difference in ALT recovery rate, HBV DNA load, HBeAg,and HBeAg/HBeAb conversion rate, 48 wk after LAM treatment between groups of genotypes D, CD, and nonclassified ***: Genotypes B, C, and D, non-classified and mixed genotype of HBV are identified in the Guangxi Zhuang population. A Certified Cubic B-Spline Interpolation Method with Tangential Direction Constraints

Curve interpolation with B-spline is widely used in various areas. This problem is classic and recently raised in application scenario with new requirements such as path planning following the tangential vector field under certified error in CNC machining. This paper proposes an algorithm framework to solve Hausdorff distance certified cubic B-spline interpolation problem with or without tangential direction constraints. The algorithm has two stages: The first stage is to find the initial cubic B-spine fitting curve which satisfies the Hausdorff distance constraint;the second stage is to set up and solve the optimization models with certain constraints. Especially, the sufficient conditions of the global Hausdorff distance control for any error bound are discussed, which can be expressed as a series of linear and quadratic constraints. A simple numerical algorithm to compute the Hausdorff distance between a polyline and its B-spline interpolation curve is proposed to reduce our *** results are presented to show the advantages of the proposed algorithms.

Monitoring and evaluation of the water quality of the Lower Neches River, Texas, USA

Increasing bacteria levels in the Lower Neches River caused by Hurricane Harvey has been of a serious *** study is to analyze the historical water sampling measurements and real-time water quality data collected with wireless sensors to monitor and evaluate water quality under different hydrological and hydraulic *** statistical and Pearson correlation analysis on historical water samples determines that alkalinity,chloride,hardness,conductivity,and pH are highly correlated,and they decrease with increasing flow rate due to *** flow rate has positive correlations with Escherichia coli,total suspended solids,and turbidity,which demonstrates that runoff is one of the causes of the elevated bacteria and sediment loadings in the *** correlation between *** and turbidity indicates that turbidity greater than 45 nephelometric turbidity units in the Neches River can serve as a proxy for *** to indicate the bacterial outbreak.A series of statistical tools and an innovative two-layer data smoothing filter are developed to detect outliers,fill missing values,and filter spikes of the sensor *** correlation analysis on the sensor data illustrates that the elevated sediment/bacteria/algae in the river is either caused by the first flush rain and heavy rain events in December to March or practices of land use and land ***,utilizing sensor measurements along with rainfall and discharge data is recommended to monitor and evaluate water quality,then in turn to provide early alerts on water resources management decisions.

Rapid Energy Exchange between In Situ Formed Bromine Vacancies and CO_(2)Molecules Enhances CO_(2)Photoreduction

Photocatalytic reduction of CO_(2)into fuels provides a prospective tactic for regulating the global carbon balance utilizing renewable solar ***,CO_(2)molecules are difficult to activate and reduce due to the thermodynamic stability and chemical *** this work,we develop a novel strategy to promote the adsorption and activation of CO_(2)molecules via the rapid energy exchange between the photoinduced Br vacancies and CO_(2)*** in situ continuous wave-electron paramagnetic resonance(cw-EPR)and pulsed EPR technologies,we observe that the spin-spin relaxation time(T_(2))of BiOBr is decreased by 198 ns during the CO_(2)photoreduction reaction,which is further confirmed by the broadened EPR *** result reveals that there is an energy exchange interaction between in situ formed Br vacancies and CO_(2)molecules,which promotes the formation of high-energy CO_(2)molecules to facilitate the subsequent reduction *** addition,theoretical calculations indicate that the bended CO_(2)adsorption configuration on the surface of BiOBr with Br vacancies caused the decrease of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital of the CO_(2)molecule,which makes it easier for CO_(2)molecules to acquire electrons and get *** situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy further shows that the activated CO_(2)molecules are favorably converted to key intermediates of COOH*,resulting in a CO generation rate of 9.1μmol g^(-1)h^(-1)and a selectivity of 100%.This study elucidates the underlying mechanism of CO_(2)activation at active sites and deepens the understanding of CO_(2)photoreduction reaction.

Constraints on the primordial curvature power spectrum by pulsar timing array data:a polynomial parameterization approach

The recent stochastic signal observed jointly by NANOGrav,parkes pulsar timing array,European pulsar timing array,and Chinese pulsar timing array can be accounted for by scalarinduced gravitational waves(SIGWs).The source of the SIGWs is from the primordial curvature perturbations,and the main contribution to the SIGWs is from the peak of the primordial curvature power *** effectively model this peak,we apply the Taylor expansion to parameterize *** the Taylor expansion parameterization,we apply Bayesian methods to constrain the primordial curvature power spectrum based on the NANOGrav 15 year data *** constraint on the primordial curvature power spectrum possesses a degree of generality,as the Taylor expansion can effectively approximate a wide range of function profiles.

Prevalence of Cannabis Use around the World:A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis,2000-2024

This study aims to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis on the global prevalence of cannabis use to inform drug prevention strategies,policy-making,and resource *** study initially screened 177,843 studies published between January 1,2000,and January 15,2024,using peer-reviewed databases including Web of Science,PubMed,Scopus,Embase,and Cochrane ***,595 studies were identified for data extraction,and 39 of these were selected as country-representative *** among the selected studies was assessed using the chi-squared test and I2 statistic,while sensitivity analysis was conducted to evaluate the robustness of the *** prevalence of cannabis use varied between 0.42%and 43.90%across 33 European countries,1.40%to 38.12%across 15 North and South American countries,0.30%to 19.10%across 16 Asian countries,and 1.30%to 48.70%across 18 Oceania and African *** pooled prevalence of cannabis use was 12.0%[95%confidence interval(CI):10.0,14.3]in countries where cannabis is legalized,compared to 5.4%(95%CI:4.3,6.9)in non-legalized *** findings indicate that the prevalence of cannabis use has disproportionately increased in most countries with the implementation of medical or recreational cannabis legalization policies and relevant geographic *** efforts are needed to monitor newly cannabis-legalized countries and prevent initial use.

An asymmetric catalytic strategy in photocatalysis utilizing a chirality-induced approach through an organocatalytic/photoredox relay catalysis strategy is successfully achieved for the rapid construction of polycyclic compounds containing vicinal amino alcohols in a one-pot protocol. This methodology facilitates the efficient synthesis of diverse substituted polycyclic tetrahydroquinoline and benzofuran-derived vicinal amino alcohols, each containing five consecutive chiral centers, with high yields,excellent diastereoselectivities and enantioselectivities(up to 95% yield, >20:1 dr and 98% ee), under mild reaction conditions driven by sequential bifunctional squaramide organocatalyst-catalyzed [4+2] annulation and photocatalyst-catalyzed ketyl radical addition cyclization reaction process. Furthermore, investigations into the stereoselectivity mechanism and high-resolution mass spectrometry(HRMS) experiments on free radical trapping have provided evidence for elucidating the detailed mechanism of chirality-induced processes and chiral intermediate conversions in this procedure.

Stability behavior of the Lanxi ancient flood control levee after reinforcement with upside-down hanging wells and grouting curtain

The stability of the ancient flood control levees is mainly influenced by water level fluctuations, groundwater concentration and rainfalls. This paper takes the Lanxi ancient levee as a research object to study the evolution laws of its seepage, displacement and stability before and after reinforcement with the upside-down hanging wells and grouting curtain through numerical simulation methods combined with experiments and observations. The study results indicate that the filled soil is less affected by water level fluctuations and groundwater concentration after reinforcement. A high groundwater level is detrimental to the levee's long-term stability, and the drainage issues need to be fully considered. The deformation of the reinforced levee is effectively controlled since the fill deformation is mainly borne by the upside-down hanging wells. The safety factors of the levee before reinforcement vary significantly with the water level. The minimum value of the safety factors is 0.886 during the water level decreasing period, indicating a very high risk of the instability. While it reached 1.478 after reinforcement, the stability of the ancient levee is improved by a large margin.

Stress corrosion cracking behavior of buried oil and gas pipeline steel under the coexistence of magnetic field and sulfate-reducing bacteria

Magnetic field and microorganisms are important factors influencing the stress corrosion cracking(SCC)of buried oil and gas pipelines. Once SCC occurs in buried pipelines, it will cause serious hazards to the soil environment. The SCC behavior of X80 pipeline steel under the magnetic field and sulfate-reducing bacteria(SRB) environment was investigated by immersion tests, electrochemical tests, and slow strain rate tensile(SSRT) tests. The results showed that the corrosion and SCC sensitivity of X80 steel decreased with increasing the magnetic field strength in the sterile environment. The SCC sensitivity was higher in the biotic environment inoculated with SRB, but it also decreased with increasing magnetic field strength, which was due to the magnetic field reduces microbial activity and promotes the formation of dense film layer. This work provided theoretical guidance on the prevention of SCC in pipeline steel under magnetic field and SRB coexistence.
