Experimental Testing of greenhouse-Integrated Vanadium-Titanium Black Ceramic Solar Absorbers

As a solution for solar heating, the low-cost and long-life vanadium-titanium black ceramic solar absorbers have been used in rural construction. However, in contrast to its high absorptance(0.93-0.97), ceramic also has high emissivity(approximately 90%) and low thermal conductivity(1.3 W/(m·K)). Without a glaze covering, ceramic absorbers cannot meet the industrial standard. This paper assumes that glaze covering can be substituted by insulation film in a solar greenhouse. To verify this assumption, field experiments were conducted. First, a traditional greenhouse in the Tacheng Basin, a severely cold area in China, was renovated to improve its passive thermal performance. Then, 90 m^(2) of ceramic absorbers and floor coils as well as a water tank were installed inside the greenhouse, which made the entire construction act as an integrated solar collector. This heat collection and release system moderately increased the indoor air temperature(0.9℃-22.4℃) and substantially increased the soil temperature(15.5℃-31.2℃). The average daily useful heat gain under a daily solar insolation value of 17 MJ/m^(2) was 13.8 MJ, and the mean value of the collection efficiency was 0.81. Furthermore, the payback time of the project(7 years) is short, which is principally due to the low cost of ceramic materials and the financial savings of the shared construction components(e.g., transparent cover, metal frame and extra insulation). In conclusion, the main contribution of this study is the verification that it is feasible to replace glaze covering with insulation film in a novel greenhouse-integrated vanadium-titanium black ceramic solar system.

Nitrous oxide(N_(2)O)is a potent greenhouse gas(gHg)contributing to global warming,with the agriculture sector as the major source of anthropogenic N_(2)O emissions due to excessive fertilizer *** is an urgent need to enhance regional-/watershed-scale models,such as Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT),to credibly simulate N_(2)O emissions to improve assessment of environmental impacts of cropping ***,we integrated the DayCent model’s N_(2)O emission algorithms with the existing widely tested crop growth,hydrology,and nitrogen cycling algorithms in SWAT and evaluated this new tool for simulating N_(2)O emissions in three agricultural systems(i.e.,a continuous corn site,a switchgrass site,and a smooth brome grass site which was used as a reference site)located at the great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center(gLBRC)scale-up fields in southwestern *** three systems represent different levels of management intensity,with corn,switchgrass,and smooth brome grass(reference site)receiving high,medium,and zero fertilizer application,*** indicate that the enhanced SWAT model with default parameterization reproduced well the relative magnitudes of N_(2)O emissions across the three sites,indicating the usefulness of the new tool(SWAT-N_(2)O)to estimate long-term N_(2)O emissions of diverse cropping ***,parameter calibration can significantly improve model simulations of seasonality of N_(2)O fluxes,and explained up to 22.5%-49.7%of the variability in field *** sensitivity analysis indicates that climate change(e.g.,changes in precipitation and temperature)influences N_(2)O emissions,highlighting the importance of optimizing crop management under a changing climate in order to achieve agricultural sustainability goals.

Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)with periodic channels and tunable chemical structures have been widely considered as promising electrode materials in rechargeable ***,the design and construction of high-performance COFs-based electrodes still face some challenges in the introduction of multiple efficient redox centers as well as the reduction of dead *** address these issues,a unique COF containing double active centers(C═N and N═N)is developed as an anode in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).The as-prepared COF displays excellent electrochemical performance due to its remarkable structural stability and the existence of many active ***,its electrochemical performance is significantly better than that of the small molecule compound or the linear polymer with the same construction *** at a high current density of 5 A/g,the LIBs with COF electrodes remain at a high discharge capacity of 227 mAh/g after 2000 ***,the distinction in electrochemical performances of these three materials is further revealed by *** study illustrates the importance of molecular structure design for improving the performance of organic electrodes.

Parity-dependent unidirectional and chiral photon transfer in reversed-dissipation cavity optomechanics

Nonreciprocal elements,such as isolators and circulators,play an important role in classical and quantum information ***,strong nonreciprocal effects have been experimentally demonstrated in cavity optomechanical *** these approaches,the bandwidth of the nonreciprocal photon transmission is limited by the mechanical resonator linewidth,which is arguably much smaller than the linewidths of the cavity modes in most electromechanical or optomechanical *** this work,we demonstrate broadband nonreciprocal photon transmission in the reversed-dissipation regime,where the mechanical mode with a large decay rate can be adiabatically eliminated while mediating anti-PT-symmetric dissipative coupling with two kinds of phase *** the relative phases allows the observation of periodic Riemann-sheet structures with distributed exceptional points(Eps).At the Eps,destructive quantum interference breaks both theT-andP-inversion symmetry,resulting in unidirectional and chiral photon *** the reversed-dissipation regime,the nonreciprocal bandwidth is no longer limited by the mechanical mode linewidth but is improved to the linewidth of the cavity ***,we find that the direction of the unidirectional and chiral energy transfer could be reversed by changing the parity of the *** non-Hermitian couplings to a three-cavity model,the broken anti-PT-symmetry allows us to observe high-order Eps,at which a parity-dependent chiral circulator is *** driving-phase controlled periodical Riemann sheets allow observation of the parity-dependent unidirectional and chiral energy transfer and thus provide a useful cell for building up nonreciprocal array and realizing topological,e.g.,isolators,circulators,or amplifiers.

Same impact momentum causes different degrees of spinal cord injury

The weight-drop impact is widely used in making animal model of spinal cord injury(SCI).But there has not yet been an appropriate unit for the quantification of the *** this study,we compared the degrees of the spinal cord injury caused by weight-drop impact with the same momentum but different combinations of drop weight and drop height,in order to test whether‘‘momentum’’is capable of being the unit for the quantification of weightdrop *** adult rats were randomly allocated to three groups and were injured with 5 g–10 cm(group A),10 g–2.5 cm(group B)and 15 g–1.11 cm(group C)impacts with the same momentum to the spinal cord,***-field locomotor function was evaluated using the Basso–Beattie–Bresnahan(BBB)locomotor rating *** percentage of spared tissue area(STA)at the epicenter,and 500,1000 and 1500 lm from the epicenter was calculated using serial sections stained by hematoxylin and *** a result,the behavioral recovery(BBB scores)and the STA percentage were similar in group B and group ***,the BBB score in group A was significantly lower than that in groups B and C at the same time point post *** STA percentage was significantly less and the lesion/cavity length was significantlygreater in group A than in groups B and *** suggested that the 5 g–10 cm weight-drop impact,compared with the other two impacts with different weights and heights,caused a greater damage of the spinal cord when the momentum was the ***,these impacts with the same momentum but different weights and drop heights cause different degrees of spinal cord *** alone is inadequate to be the unit for the qualification of weightdrop impact and to be used to predict the extent of injury.

Borrowing the idea from Si industry, where the properties of Si semiconductors can be greatly enhanced through the doping of heteroatoms（e.g. B, P, As, Sb）, we believe that the properties of oligoacens（or conjugated polycyclic hydrocarbons） could be tuned through inserting heteroatoms（e.g. B, N, O, S, P, As） into the backbone of oligoacenes. Moreover, the properties of as-obtained heteroacenes strongly depend on the number, positions, types, valence, and mixing of heteroatoms. Here, I will report the synthesis, optical and electrochemical properties, as well as fabrication of some devices for a series of heteroacenes（Scheme 1）.

Novel isostructural iron‐series‐MOF calcined derivatives as positive and negative electrodes: A new strategy to obtain matched electrodes in a supercapacitor device

The performance of asymmetric supercapacitors(ASCs)is strongly restricted by the capacity gap between the positive and negative *** address this issue,two new electrode materials deriving from Co‐and fe‐based metal–organic frameworks(MOFs,Co‐TAMBA‐d,and fe‐TAMBA‐d)through a single‐step sintering method have been developed by considering the superiorities of the derivatives of MOFs including large surface areas,sufficient metal‐atom‐doping content,and extreme surface wettability to the bath *** as‐prepared Co‐TAMBA‐d as a positive electrode delivers typical pseudocapacitive behavior with the improvement of capacity,which is better than those of pristine MOF materials,while fe‐TAMBA‐d as negative electrodes displays better electrochemical behavior than those of activated *** based on these two electrodes exhibits excellent energy density and power density of 47Wh/kg and 1658 W/kg,respectively,where this device can maintain prominent cycling stability with capacity retention after 5000 cycles being about 75%.Furthermore,the capacity can feed a series of red light‐emitting diodes,which gives solid evidence of the potential *** results can afford the feasibility of isostructural MOF derivatives as promising electrodes in novel ASCs.

Root-knot nematodes(RKNs)are obligate endoparasites that feed on their host plants to complete its life cycle,representing a major threat to agriculture and economy *** development of new management strategies becomes essential as effective chemical nematicides are progressively being ***,we analysed grape pomace-derived biochars,pyrolysed at 350℃(BC350)and 700℃(BC700),focusing on their potential for RKN *** thermal treatment of grape pomace caused an increase in the concentration of carbon and plant macro-and micronutrients,which were largely present in a water-soluble *** radiation-based Fourier transform infrared microspectroscopy data showed a general loss of carboxylic functional groups during pyrolysis,partially contributing to the alkalinisation of both biochars,mostly in *** electron microscopy coupled with energydispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis revealed a highly porous structure filled with different crystals composed of elements such as K,Ca,Mg,P,Si or Al,which could be a suitable environment for the growth of ***-derived aqueous extracts showed phytotoxicity to tomato seedlings at high concentrations,and disappeared upon dilution,but no toxic effect was observed on the nematode’s infective ***,the infective and reproductive traits of a Meloidogyne javanica population in tomato were significantly reduced(*** masses and eggs per plant)in washed-biochar-treated soil in pots(0.75%;BC350W).Therefore,the large amount of grape waste generated after wine production can be transformed into a valuable product such as biochar,effective for RKNs control,thus reducing the waste management problem and contributing to a circular economy.

电弧是影响高压直流继电器性能的重要因素,研究电弧运动特性及其灭弧措施对提高其电寿命和可靠性具有重要意义。该文基于磁流体动力学(MHD)建立了高压直流继电器电弧等离子体的三维数学模型,对不同外加磁场、不同银蒸气浓度和增设纵向绝缘栅片条件下的电弧运动进行了一系列的仿真计算,得到不同条件下的电弧电压;通过计算弧根的位置坐标对电弧运动进行表征,得到弧根运动曲线。利用高速摄像机拍摄燃弧过程,对仿真结果进行验证。结果表明,触头烧蚀产生的银蒸气不利于电弧的熄灭并阻碍电弧运动;外加磁场作用下触头断开后的一段时间内,电弧在较小范围内做随机运动,是造成烧蚀的主要阶段,增大外加磁场有利于缩短随机运动时间;增设纵向绝缘栅片将提高电弧电压,加快电弧的熄灭。

为了解决贵州赤水地区官渡构造钻探中超高压气层或盐水层固井的技术难题,通过加重材料优选和颗粒设计研制超高密度水泥浆,并将其用于官深1井尾管固井。针对超高密度水泥浆配制需求,选择颗粒呈球形的加重剂MicroMAX并优选了加重剂组合(还原铁粉、铁矿粉、MicroMAX);基于紧密堆积理论设计了水泥颗粒粒度分布,实际粒度分布接近紧密堆积的理想状态。设计了密度为2.70～3.00 g/cm3的超高密度水泥浆,其基本性能、流动性和稳定性良好。在地面模拟混配试验中,采用常规一次固井流程配制了平均密度为2.71 g/cm3的水泥浆。在官深1井的尾管固井中,采用设计密度为2.80 g/cm3的水泥浆成功封隔超高压盐水层:水泥浆入井平均密度为2.78 g/cm3,最高密度为2.82g/cm3,声幅测井显示固井质量合格,后续作业钻井液密度由2.77 g/cm3降至2.00 g/cm3,井内稳定。
