While databases are widely-used in commercial user-facing services that have stringent quality-of-service(QoS)requirement,it is crucial to ensure their good performance and minimize the hardware usage at the same *** investigation shows that the optimal DBMS(database management system)software configuration varies for different user request patterns(i.e.,workloads)and hardware *** is challenging to identify the optimal software and hardware configurations for a database workload,because DBMSs have hundreds of tunable knobs,the effect of tuning a knob depends on other knobs,and the dependency relationship changes under different hardware *** this paper,we propose SHA,a software and hardware auto-tuning system for *** is comprised of a scaling-based performance predictor,a reinforcement learning(RL)based software tuner,and a QoS-aware resource *** performance predictor predicts its optimal performance with different hardware configurations and identifies the minimum amount of resources for satisfying its performance *** software tuner fine-tunes the DBMS software knobs to optimize the performance of the *** resource reallocator assigns the saved resources to other applications to improve resource utilization without incurring QoS violation of the database *** results show that SHA improves the performance of database workloads by 9.9%on average compared with a state-of-the-art solution when the hardware configuration is fixed,and improves 43.2%of resource utilization while ensuring the QoS.

Due to the record-breaking wildfires that occurred in Canada in 2023,unprecedented quantities of air pollutants and greenhouse gases were released into the *** wildfires had emitted more than 1.3 Pg CO_(2)and 0.14 Pg CO_(2)equivalent of other greenhouse gases(GHG)including CH4 and N_(2)O as of 31 *** wildfire-related GHG emissions constituted more than doubled Canada’s planned cumulative anthropogenic emissions reductions in 10 years,which represents a significant challenge to climate mitigation *** model simulations showed that the Canadian wildfires impacted not only the local air quality but also that of most areas in the northern hemisphere due to long-range transport,causing severe PM_(2.5)pollution in the northeastern United States and increasing daily mean PM_(2.5)concentration in northwestern China by up to 2μg *** observed maximum daily mean PM_(2.5)concentration in New York City reached 148.3μg m-3,which was their worst air quality in more than 50 years,nearly 10 times that of the air quality guideline(i.e.,15μg m-3)issued by the World Health Organization(WHO).Aside from the direct emissions from forest fires,the peat fires beneath the surface might smolder for several months or even longer and release substantial amounts of CO_(2).The substantial amounts of greenhouse gases from forest and peat fires might contribute to the positive feedback to the climate,potentially accelerating global *** better understand the comprehensive environmental effects of wildfires and their interactions with the climate system,more detailed research based on advanced observations and Earth System Models is essential.

现代航空部件对材料的耐高温性、高强度和轻量化提出了更高要求。SiC_(f)/SiC复合材料具有优异的综合性能,但其高脆性和各向异性使其高性能制造面临挑战。通过激光烧蚀预实验,掌握了Si C_(f)/Si C复合材料激光烧蚀产物的物相组成和烧蚀机理,探究了激光参数对烧蚀性质的影响规律。通过常规铣削和激光烧蚀辅助铣削的对比实验,分析了常规铣削、部分烧蚀-铣削和完全烧蚀-铣削三种不同加工策略的材料去除机理,探究了烧蚀层占比对加工表面质量的影响规律。研究表明:激光烧蚀产物主要由3C-SiC和非晶态SiO_(2)组成。常规铣削加工中,纤维发生宏观脆性断裂,已加工表面存在多处裂纹、凹坑等加工缺陷。部分烧蚀-铣削中,纤维断裂以微观脆性断裂为主,少部分位置发生了纤维拔出和宏观脆性断裂。完全烧蚀-铣削加工中,纤维发生了微观脆性断裂,基体发生鳞状破碎。激光烧蚀辅助铣削加工质量优于常规铣削,部分烧蚀-铣削和完全烧蚀-铣削的表面粗糙度基本相同。低烧蚀层占比和高烧蚀层占比下进行铣削加工切削力差距较小。低烧蚀层占比的铣削加工中,纤维以微观-宏观脆性断裂为主;高烧蚀层占比的铣削加工中,大部分纤维发生了微观脆性断裂。综上所述,部分烧蚀-铣削和低烧蚀层占比是较优的加工方案。

Visual object tracking is an important issue that has received long-term attention in computer *** ability to effectively handle occlusion,especially severe occlusion,is an important aspect of evaluating the performance of object tracking algorithms in long-term tracking,and is of great significance to improving the robustness of object tracking ***,most object tracking algorithms lack a processing mechanism specifically for *** the case of occlusion,due to the lack of target information,it is necessary to predict the target position based on the motion *** filtering and particle filtering can effectively predict the target motion state based on the historical motion information.A single object tracking method,called probabilistic discriminative model prediction(PrDiMP),is based on the spatial attention mechanism in complex scenes and *** order to improve the performance of PrDiMP,Kalman filtering,particle filtering and linear filtering are ***,for the occlusion situation,Kalman filtering and particle filtering are respectively introduced to predict the object position,thereby replacing the detection result of the original tracking algorithm and stopping recursion of target ***,for detection-jump problem of similar objects in complex scenes,a linear filtering window is *** evaluation results on the three datasets,including GOT-10k,UAV123 and LaSOT,and the visualization results on several videos,show that our algorithms have improved tracking performance under occlusion and the detection-jump is effectively suppressed.

Ferroptosis,a unique modality of cell death with mechanistic and morphological differences from other cell death modes,plays a pivotal role in regulating tumorigenesis and offers a new opportunity for modulating anticancer drug *** epigenetic modifications and posttranslational modifications(PTMs)promote anticancer drug resistance,cancer progression,and *** studies indicate that epigenetic modifications can transcriptionally and translationally determine cancer cell vulnerability to ferroptosis and that ferroptosis functions as a driver in nervous system diseases(NSDs),cardiovascular diseases(CVDs),liver diseases,lung diseases,and kidney *** this review,we first summarize the core molecular mechanisms of ***,the roles of epigenetic processes,including histone PTMs,DNA methylation,and noncoding RNA regulation and PTMs,such as phosphorylation,ubiquitination,SUMOylation,acetylation,methylation,and ADP-ribosylation,are concisely *** roles of epigenetic modifications and PTMs in ferroptosis regulation in the genesis of diseases,including cancers,NSD,CVDs,liver diseases,lung diseases,and kidney diseases,as well as the application of epigenetic and PTM modulators in the therapy of these diseases,are then discussed in *** the mechanisms of ferroptosis regulation mediated by epigenetic modifications and PTMs in cancer and other diseases will facilitate the development of promising combination therapeutic regimens containing epigenetic or PTM-targeting agents and ferroptosis inducers that can be used to overcome chemotherapeutic resistance in cancer and could be used to prevent other *** addition,these mechanisms highlight potential therapeutic approaches to overcome chemoresistance in cancer or halt the genesis of other diseases.

Background:Concurrent chemoradiotherapy is the preferred treatment for stage IVB cervical cancer;however,some patients experience a poor *** prognostic significance of body composition indicators,including visceral obesity,has been extensively investigated in patients with *** study aimed to assess the impact of body composition indicators,specifically pretreatment fat content,on the survival outcomes of patients with stage IVB cervical ***:We retrospectively analyzed clinical information from patients diagnosed with stage IVB cervical cancer between 2010 and *** measured visceral obesity(visceral-to-subcutaneous adipose tissue area ratio[VSR])and skeletal muscle index(SMI)on pretreatment computed tomography(CT)*** evaluated the impact of these body composition parameters on the prognosis of patients with cervical ***:Overall,116 patients were included,81 of whom had complete clinical and imaging *** on the cut-off values from X-tile analysis,we categorized patients into high and low VSR and SMI *** overall survival(OS)rate of patients with a high VSR was significantly higher than that of patients with a low VSR(P=0.022).Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that a low VSR was an independent risk factor for the prognosis of patients with stage IVB cervical ***:Visceral obesity before radiotherapy and chemotherapy has a protective effect on the prognosis of patients with stage IVB cervical cancer,while low muscle index and VSR are associated with poor prognosis.

[Objectives]To investigate the clinical effect of Yinhuang Qingfei capsules in the treatment of asymptomatic and mild/common severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection.[Methods]A total of 362 patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection were divided into the treatment group with 242 patients and control group with 120 patients according to their treatment *** patients in the control group were given standard treatment regimen and those in the treatment group were given Yinhuang Qingfei capsules in addition to the treatment in the control *** two groups were observed in terms of average length of hospital stay,mean time for nucleic acid clearance,TCM syndrome score,and progression to severe/critical illness,and clinical outcome was compared between the two groups.[Results]There was a significant difference in the overall response rate between the treatment group and the control group[97.52%(236/242)vs 95.00%(114/120),P<0.05].Compared with the control group,the treatment group had significantly shorter length of hospital stay and time for nucleic acid clearance(P<0.05).After 7 days of treatment,both groups had a significant change in TCM syndrome score,and there was a significant difference in TCM syndrome score between the two groups(P<0.05);after 15 days of treatment,both groups had a TCM syndrome score of *** to severe/critical illness was not observed in either group.[Conclusions]Compared with the standard treatment regimen alone,standard treatment regimen combined with Yinhuang Qingfei capsules can effectively shorten the length of hospital stay and time for nucleic acid clearance and improve TCM symptoms in patients with asymptomatic and mild/common SARS-CoV-2 infection.

【目的/意义】对科技领域实体增长时间序列模式进行分类,是有效开展知识增长预测的前提。本文提出并验证了科技领域实体增长时间序列可预测性分类方案。【方法/过程】首先,从科技文献摘要中抽取问题、方法两类实体,并标注可拟合、有趋势、无规律三类实体时间序列样本;其次,利用动态时间规整算法计算实体时间序列形状相似度,利用曲线拟合和加权局部回归来提取时间序列特征;最后,比较了基于形状相似度和基于特征的两大类时间序列分类算法的效果。【结果/结论】通过人工智能领域实验,发现基于曲线拟合和加权局部回归算法提取的特征能够有效开展实体增长时间序列模式分类,F1值可达0.91;将分类结果应用在时间序列趋势预测,能够有效降低实体增长时间序列预测的误差。【创新/局限】本文将时间序列挖掘应用到实体增长预测中,为科技预测提供了新的解决思路。未来需要更加关注时间序列局部特征,进而对实体变化过程和原因进行深入思考。
