Mechanism Exploration of Euphorbia fischeriana Steud. for Liver Cancer Based on Aspartic Acid Identification in Metabolomics

Objective:To investigate the anti-liver cancer effects and aspartic acid(Asp)-related action mechanism of Euphorbia fischeriana Steud.(LD).Methods:The mice model of liver cancer was established by injection of H22 cells.After 5 days,mice were randomly divided into model group,sorafenib group(20 mg/kg),LD high-dose(LDH,1.36 g/kg) group,LD medium-dose(LDM,0.68 g/kg) group,and LD low-dose(LDL,0.34 g/kg)group,10 mice each group.Drugs were intragastrically administered to the mice once daily for 10 days,respectively.Body weight,tumor size and tumor weight were recorded.Hepatic index was calculated.Pathological changes of liver cancer tissues were evaluated by hematoxylin and eosin staining and TUNEL staining.Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer was used to analyze different metabolites between the model and LDH groups.Results:After LD treatment,tumor weight,tumor size and hepatic index were reduced compared with the model group.Necrocytosis and karyorrhexis of tumor cells were found.Moreover,61 differential metabolites(18 up-regulated,43 down-regulated) were affirmed and 20 pathways of KEGG(P<0.05) were gotten.In addition,Bel-7402,HepG2 and H22 cell viabilities were significantly increased after adding Asp into the medium.And then,the cell proliferation effect induced by Asp was ameliorated by LD.Conclusion:The anti-liver cancer efficacy of LD extract was validated in H22 mice model,and inhibition of Asp level might be the underlying mechanism.

To address the challenge of achieving both high sensitivity and a high quality factor in quartz crystal microbalance（QCM） humidity sensors,a nanodiamond（ND）/Ti3C2MXene composite-coated QCM humidity sensor was fabricated.The material characteristics of ND,Ti3C2MXene,and ND/Ti3C2MXene composite were analyzed by transmission electron microscopy（TEM） and Fourier transform infrared（FTIR） spectroscopy.The experimental results demonstrated that the hydrophilic ND nanoparticles coated on Ti3C2MXene nanosheet prevented the self-stacking of Ti3C2MXene and enhanced the sensitivity of Ti3C2MXene-based QCM humidity sensor.Moreover,the high mechanical modulus of Ti3C2MXene material helped ND/Ti3C2MXene composite-coated QCM humidity sensor to achieve a high quality factor（> 20,000）.ND/Ti3C2MXene compositecoated QCM humidity sensor exhibited a sensitivity of 82.45 Hz/%RH,a humidity hysteresis of 1.1 %RH,fast response/recovery times,acceptable repeatability,and good stability from 11.3%RH to 97.3%RH.The response mechanism of ND/Ti3C2MXene composite-coated QCM humidity sensor was analyzed in combination with a bi-exponential kinetic adsorption model.Finally,the potential application of ND/Ti3C2MXene composite-coated QCM humidity sensor was demonstrated through its frequency response to wooden blocks with different moisture contents.

Microglia are the main non-neuronal cells in the central nervous system that have important roles in brain development and functional connectivity of neural circuits. In brain physiology, highly dynamic microglial processes are facilitated to sense the surrounding environment and stimuli. Once the brain switches its functional states, microglia are recruited to specific sites to exert their immune functions, including the release of cytokines and phagocytosis of cellular debris. The crosstalk of microglia between neurons, neural stem cells, endothelial cells, oligodendrocytes, and astrocytes contributes to their functions in synapse pruning, neurogenesis, vascularization, myelination, and blood-brain barrier permeability. In this review, we highlight the neuron-derived “find-me,” “eat-me,” and “don’t eat-me” molecular signals that drive microglia in response to changes in neuronal activity for synapse refinement during brain development. This review reveals the molecular mechanism of neuron-microglia interaction in synaptic pruning and presents novel ideas for the synaptic pruning of microglia in disease, thereby providing important clues for discovery of target drugs and development of nervous system disease treatment methods targeting synaptic dysfunction.

Dynamic response of mountain tunnel,bridge,and embankment along the Sichuan-Tibet transportation corridor to active fault based on model tests

The Sichuan-Tibet transportation corridor is prone to numerous active faults and frequent strong earthquakes.While extensive studies have individually explored the effect of active faults and strong earthquakes on different engineering structures,their combined effect remains unclear.This research employed multiple physical model tests to investigate the dynamic response of various engineering structures,including tunnels,bridges,and embankments,under the simultaneous influence of cumulative earthquakes and stick-slip misalignment of an active fault.The prototype selected for this study was the Kanding No.2 tunnel,which crosses the Yunongxi fault zone within the Sichuan-Tibet transportation corridor.The results demonstrated that the tunnel,bridge,and embankment exhibited amplification in response to the input seismic wave,with the amplification effect gradually decreasing as the input peak ground acceleration(PGA)increased.The PGAs of different engineering structures were weakened by the fault rupture zone.Nevertheless,the misalignment of the active fault may decrease the overall stiffness of the engineering structure,leading to more severe damage,with a small contribution from seismic vibration.Additionally,the seismic vibration effect might be enlarged with the height of the engineering structure,and the tunnel is supposed to have a smaller PGA and lower dynamic earth pressure compared to bridges and embankments in strong earthquake zones crossing active faults.The findings contribute valuable insights for evaluating the dynamic response of various engineering structures crossing an active fault and provide an experimental reference for secure engineering design in the challenging conditions of the Sichuan-Tibet transportation corridor.

The overabundance of the red and massive candidate galaxies observed by the James Webb Space Telescope(JWST)implies efficient structure formation or large star formation efficiency at high redshift z~10.In the scenario of a low or moderate star formation efficiency,because massive neutrinos tend to suppress the growth of structure of the universe,the JWST observation tightens the upper bound of the neutrino masses.Assuming A cold dark matter cosmology and a star formation efficiency∈[0.05,0.3](flat prior),we perform joint analyses of Planck+JWST and Planck+BAO+JWST,and obtain improved constraints∑m_(ν)<0.196 eV and ∑m_(ν)+<0.111 eV at 95% confidence level,respectively.Based on the above assumptions,the inverted mass ordering,which implies ∑m_(ν)≥0.1 eV,is excluded by Planck+BAO+JWST at 92.7% confidence level.

Traditional biological neural networks cannot simulate the real situation of the abrupt synaptic connections between neurons while modeling associative memory of human brains.In this paper,the memristive multidirectional associative memory neural networks(MAMNNs)with mixed time-varying delays are investigated in the sense of Filippov solution.First,three steps are given to prove the existence of the almost periodic solution.Two new lemmas are proposed to prove the boundness of the solution and the asymptotical almost periodicity of the solution by constructing Lyapunov function.Second,the uniqueness and global exponential stability of the almost periodic solution of memristive MAMNNs are investigated by a new Lyapunov function.The sufficient conditions guaranteeing the properties of almost periodic solution are derived based on the relevant definitions,Halanay inequality and Lyapunov function.The investigation is an extension of the research on the periodic solution and almost periodic solution of bidirectional associative memory neural networks.Finally,numerical examples with simulations are presented to show the validity of the main results.

A transient 3D model was established to investigate the effect of spatial interaction of ultrasounds on the dual-frequency ultrasonic field in magnesium alloy melt.The effects of insertion depth and tip shape of the ultrasonic rods,input pressures and their ratio on the acoustic field distribution were discussed in detail.Additionally,the spacing,angle,and insertion depth of two ultrasonic rods significantly affect the interaction between distinct ultrasounds.As a result,various acoustic pressure distributions and cavitation regions are obtained.The spherical rods mitigate the longitudinal and transversal attenuation of acoustic pressure and expand the cavitation volume by 53.7%and 31.7%,respectively,compared to the plate and conical rods.Increasing the input pressure will enlarge the cavitation region but has no effect on the acoustic pressure distribution pattern.The acoustic pressure ratio significantly affects the pressure distribution and the cavitation region,and the best cavitation effect is obtained at the ratio of 2:1(P15:P20).

The water pollution derived from the discharge of heavy metals,antibiotics,dyes and surfactants wastewater,etc.has seriously affected human survival and ecological security.As an efficient and low-cost physical wastewater treatment process,the adsorption is a continuous hot spot in related scientific research and applications.Geopolymers are non-crystal or semi-crystalline materials with high-efficiency adsorption performance due to the alkali metal ions that balance the electronegative aluminosilicate skeleton can be efficiently replaced by other cations in the aqueous environment.The related studies of different application conditions,service objects and morphological differences of geopolymer adsorbents based on structure-function design have been in-depth exploration and investigation.This review aims to summarize the research progres s of the structure-function design based on the geopolymerization mechanism and kinetics and service requirements.An overview of service characteristics and progress of geopolymers in the wastewater treatment field(e.g.,dyes,heavy metals,radionuclides,surfactants,antibiotics,ammonium,phosphorus,nitrogen and CO_(2),etc.)are systematically discussed.And the evolution and development of morphological differences and the relationship of structure-function design of geopolymer adsorbents were compared and reviewed.Finally,the challenge worth overcoming,the trends worth considering and perspectives worth developing are highlighted.
