Combination of three-gene immunohistochemical panel and magnetic resonance imaging-detected extramural vascular invasion to assess prognosis in non-advanced rectal cancer patients

AIM To identify a small, clinically applicable immunohistochemistry(IHC) panel that could be combined with magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)-detected extramural vascular invasion(EMVI) for assessment of prognosis concerning the non-advanced rectal cancer patients prior to *** About 329 patients with pathologically confirmed rectal carcinoma(RC) were screened in this research, all of whom had been examined via an MRI and were treatment-na?ve from July 2011 to July 2014. The candidate proteins that were reported to be altered by RC were examined in tissues by IHC. All chosen samples were adopted from the fundamental cores of histopathologically confirmed carcinomas during the initial *** Of the three proteins that were tested, c-MYC, PCNA and TIMP1 were detected with relatively significant expression in tumors, 35.9%, 23.7% and 58.7% respectively. The expression of the three proteins were closely connected with prognosis(P = 0.032, 0.003, 0.021). The patients could be classified into different outcome groups according to an IHC panel(P < 0.01) via these three proteins. Taking into consideration known survival covariates, especially EMVI, the IHC panel served as an independent prognostic factor. The EMVI combined with the IHC panel could categorize patients into different prognostic groups with distinction(P < 0.01).CONCLUSION These studies argue that this three-protein panel of c-MYC, PCNA, coupled with TIMP1 combined with MRIdetected EMVI could offer extra prognostic details for preoperative treatment of RC.

Judging the Normativity of PAF Based on TFN and NAN

The origin of zonal mineralization in porphyry copper deposit is important for understanding the mineralization *** propose a new,modified "orthomagmatic" genetic model for mineralization zoning in hypogene porphyry copper *** new model is based on the features and formation mechanism of comb microfractures in quartz-chalcopyrite veins within pyrite vein from the Hongshan porphyry copper deposit in Zhongdian County,western Yunnan Province,*** main evidence for this model is volume expansion related to crystallization of chalcopyrite,magnetite and K-metasomatism in the deposit. Comb microfractures are well developed in quartz-chalcopyrite veins and are present as comb-quartz veinlets consisting of a zone of central longitudinal quartz overprinted by laterally grown quartz combs. Chalcopyrite fragments lie perpendicular to the central quartz veinlet and were dismembered by the quartz *** combed microfractures are typical tensional *** formation of the comb microfractures is related to volume expansion that was induced by crystallization of chalcopyrite from a chalcopyrite melt that resulted in the subsequent increase of volumetric pressure in the confined residual silica melt The formation mechanism of the comb microfractures,including volume expansion induced by crystallization,increases volumetric pressure,hydrofracturing and fluid expulsion,and was the most likely process for zoning of minerals in hypogene porphyry copper deposits. Fabrics in the veins and veinlets are consistent with overpressuring and injection and are common structures that are directly related to volumetric pressure and crystallization of chalcopyrite and magnetile and K-meLasomatism in hypogene porphyry copper *** volume expansion raLio of chalcopyrite mineral to melt and that of magnetite mineral to melt are approximately 19 vol.% and 20 vol.% , *** volume expansion rate of a monomolecular lattice is≥8 vol.% for orthoclase

Five statistical methods including simple correlation, multiple linear regression, stepwise regression, principal components, and path analysis were used to explore the relationship between leaf water use efficiency （WUE） and physiological traits （photosynthesis rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, intercellular CO2 concentration, etc.） of 29 wheat cultivars. The results showed that photosynthesis rate, stomatal conductance, and transpiration rate were the most important leaf WUE parameters under drought condition. Based on the results of statistical analyses, principal component analysis could be the most suitable method to ascertain the relationship between leaf WUE and relative physiological traits. It is reasonable to assume that high leaf WUE wheat could be obtained by selecting breeding materials with high photosynthesis rate, low transpiration rate, and stomatal conductance under dry area.

The influence of different alcohol modifiers in mobile phase on the chiral separation of 4-methoxyl flavanone, 5-methoxyl flavanone and 6-methoxyl flavanone on cellulose tris (3, 5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) (CDMPC) column was studied and the chiral recognition mechanism was discussed. Using hexane-tert-butanol (1.31 mol L-1) as the mobile phase, those three methoxyl flavanones were excellently separated on CDMPC chiral column.
