Observation of the effect of targeted therapy of 64-slice spiral CT combined with cryoablation for liver cancer

AIM to observe the effect of targeted therapy with 64-slice spiral computed tomography (CT) combined with cryoablation for liver cancer. METHODS A total of 124 patients ( 142 tumors) were enrolled into this study. According to the use of dual-slice spiral CT or 64-slice spiral CT as a guide technology, patients were divided into two groups: dual-slice group (n = 56, 65 tumors) and 64-slice group (n = 8, 77 tumors). All patients were accepted and received targeted therapy by an argon-helium superconducting surgery system. The guided scan times of the two groups was recorded and compared. In the two groups, the lesion ice coverage in diameter of >= 3 cm and < 3 cm were recorded, and freezing effective rate was compared. Hepatic perfusion values [ hepatic artery perfusion (HAP), portal vein perfusion (PVP), and the hepatic arterial perfusion index (HAPI)] of tumor tissues, adjacent tissues and normal liver tissues at preoperative and postoperative four weeks in the two groups were compared. Local tumor changes were recorded and efficiency was compared at four weeks post-operation. Adverse events were recorded and compared between the two groups, including fever, pain, frostbite, nausea, vomiting, pleural effusion and abdominal bleeding. RESULTS Guided scan times in the dual-slice group was longer than that in the 64-slice group (t = 11.445, P = 0.000). The freezing effective rate for tumors < 3 cm in diameter in the dual-slice group (81.58%) was lower than that in the 64-slice group (92.86%) (chi(2) = 5.707, P = 0.017). The HAP and HAPI of tumor tissues were lower at four weeks post-treatment than at pretreatment in both groups (all P < 0.05), and those in the 64-slice group were lower than that in the dual-slice group ( all P < 0.05). HAP and PVP were lower and HAPI was higher in tumor adjacent tissues at post-treatment than at pre-treatment ( all P < 0.05). Dual modulation of homogeneous nanomaterialization and electrochemical activation enhancing zinc ion storage

Vanadium-based electrode materials are widely investigated,but the low specific capacity and slow electrochemical kinetics in aqueous zinc-ion batteries still limit their commercial ***,the VS2/Ca V4O9material with the morphology of nanoflower was synthesized by a one-step hydrothermal *** to the blocky structure of pure VS2material,the VS2/Ca V4O9material is composed of thinner homogeneous *** open structures could provide abundant electrochemical active sites and ion transport channels,and then promote the electrochemical reaction *** addition,they can also buffer the bulk strain during the reaction *** improve the utilization of vanadium elements,an in-situ electrochemical activation strategy is used to explore the storage performance of the VS2/Ca V4O9material,the different activation voltage range of 0.4–1.6 and 0.4–1.4 V are selected,*** with the longer activation plateau of activated-VS2,the VS2/Ca V4O9cathode could quickly reach the activation state in the range of 1.4–1.6 V and cause the release of additional Zn storage sites *** VS2/Ca V4O9cathode delivers a higher power density of 37,000 W kg-1and a significant energy density of 423 Wh *** the high current density of 15 A g-1,the VS2/Ca V4O9cathode still has a discharge capacity of 183.9m Ah g-1after 5,000 cycles,and the capacity decay rate per cycle is only 0.0042%.Continuous cyclic voltammetry （CV） curves,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS） measurements,density functional theory （DFT） calculation and galvanostatic intermittent titration technique （GITT） measurements demonstrate that the VS2/Ca V4O9cathode has a faster ion diffusion/charge transfer ***,the assembled flexible device has an excellent mechanical stability.

MEMS resonators exhibit rich dynamic behaviors under the internal resonance regime. In this work, we present a novel MEMS bifurcation sensor that exploits frequency unlocking due to a 1:3 internal resonance between two electrostatically coupled micro-resonators. The proposed detection mechanism allows the sensor to operate in binary (digital) and analog modes, depending on whether the sensor merely detects a significant jump event in the peak frequency upon unlocking or measures the shift in the peak frequency after unlocking and uses it in conjunction with a calibration curve to estimate the corresponding change in stimulus. We validate the success of this sensor paradigm by experimentally demonstrating charge detection. High charge resolutions are achieved in binary mode, up to 0.137 fC, and in analog mode, up to 0.01 fC. The proposed binary sensor enables extraordinarily high detection resolutions due to the excellent frequency stability under internal resonance and the high signal-to-noise ratio of the shift in peak frequency. Our findings offer new opportunities for high-performance ultrasensitive sensors.

Fluorescence and Thermostability of Nanometer Porphyrin Trimer

A nanometer porphyrin trimer was firstly synthesized with 1 ,3-dibromopropane as a bridge-linked agent and the fluorescence property and thermostability were studied. The results show that the fluorescence property and thermostability of the trimer are different from those of monoporphyrin. The effects of the molecule structure on the optical property and the thermostability were also studied in detail.

Peripheral nerve injury induced changes in the spinal cord and strategies to counteract/enhance the changes to promote nerve regeneration

Peripheral nerve injury leads to morphological, molecular and gene expression changes in the spinal cord and dorsal root ganglia, some of which have positive impact on the survival of neurons and nerve regeneration, while the effect of others is the opposite. It is crucial to take prompt measures to capitalize on the positive effects of these reactions and counteract the negative impact after peripheral nerve injury at the level of spinal cord, especially for peripheral nerve injuries that are severe, located close to the cell body, involve long distance for axons to regrow and happen in immature individuals. Early nerve repair, exogenous supply of neurotrophic factors and Schwann cells can sustain the regeneration inductive environment and enhance the positive changes in neurons. Administration of neurotrophic factors, acetyl-L-carnitine, N-acetyl-cysteine, and N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist MK-801 can help counteract axotomy-induced neuronal loss and promote regeneration, which are all time-dependent. Sustaining and reactivation of Schwann cells after denervation provides another effective strategy. FK506 can be used to accelerate axonal regeneration of neurons, especially after chronic axotomy. Exploring the axotomy-induced changes after peripheral nerve injury and applying protective and promotional measures in the spinal cord which help to retain a positive functional status for neuron cell bodies will inevitably benefit regeneration of the peripheral nerve and improve functional outcomes.

Effect of Refiner Plate Bar Angle and Pulp Properties on the Low Consistency Refining Efficiency in Terms of Power Consumption

Power consumption is the energy source of the impact on fibers or pulp during low-consistency(LC)pulp refining,and the strength of refining affects refining quality and *** pulp properties,operating parameters,and bar parameters of the refiner plates are important parameters affecting refining efficiency,which can be defined as the ratio of net to total refining *** this study,LC refining trials for pulps with different consistencies and fiber lengths were conducted using five isometric straightbar plates with different bar angles to explore the influences of the plate bar angle and pulp properties on the no-load power,impact capacity on fibers and refining *** was found that the no-load power of the LC refining process decreased with an increase in the plate bar angle while increased when pulp with higher consistency was refined under the same refining ***,the effect of pulp consistency on the no-load power can be neglected when refining is conducted using plates with larger bar ***,a critical bar angle for straight-bar plates in LC refining may exist,which has the strongest impact on the pulp and highest refining efficiency under the same refining *** addition,the impact capacity of the plate on the pulp and refining efficiency in LC refining can be enhanced by appropriately increasing the pulp consistency and average fiber length when the bar angle of the refiner plate with a sector angle of 40°is less than 30°.Therefore,the efficiency and power consumption of the LC refining process can be adjusted by optimizing the pulp consistency and bar parameters of the refining plates.

Indocyanine green loaded graphene oxide for high-e±cient photoacoustic tumor therapy

Photoacoustic therapy,using the photoacoustic efect of agents for selectively kling tumor cells,has shown pronising for treat ing *** of high optical absorption probes can help to effectively improve the photoacoustic ther apy ***,we report a novel high-absorpt:ion photoacoustic probe that is composed of indocyanine green(ICG)and gr aphene oxide(GO),entitled GO-ICG,for photoacoustic ther *** attached ICG with narrow absorption spectral profile has strong optical absorption in the infrared *** absorption spectrum of the GO-ICG solution reveals that the GO-ICG particles exhibited a 10-fold higher absorbance at 780 nm(its peak absorbance)as compared with ***,ICG's fluorescence is quenched by GO via fuorescence resonance energy *** a result,GO-ICG can high efficiently convert the absorbed light energy to acoustic wave under pulsed laser *** further demonstrate that GO-ICG can produce stronger photoacoustic wave than the GO and ICG ***,we conjugate this contrast agent with integrin 0。As mono dlonal antibody to molecularly target the U87-MG human glioblastoma cells for selective tumor cell ***,our results testify that the photoacoustic therapy eficiency of GO-ICG is higher than the existing photoacoustic therapy *** work demonstrates that GO-ICG is a high efficiency photo-acoustic therapy *** novel photoacoustic probe is likely to be an available candidate for tumor therapy.
