Male animals often adjust their sperm investment in response to sperm competition *** date,only a few studies have investigated how juvenile sociosexual settings affect sperm production before adulthood and sperm allocation during the first ***,it is unclear whether juvenile sociosexual experience(1)determines lifetime sperm production and allocation in any animal species;(2)alters the eupyrene:apyrene sperm ratio in lifetime ejaculates of any lepidopteran insects,and(3)influences lifetime ejaculation patterns,number of matings and adult *** we used a polygamous moth,Ephestia kuehniella,to address these *** male adult emergence from juveniles reared at different density and sex ratio,we paired each male with a virgin female daily until his *** dissected each mated female to count the sperm transferred and recorded male longevity and lifetime number of *** demonstrate for the first time that males ejaculated significantly more eupyrenes and apyrenes in their lifetime after their young were exposed to juvenile *** moths continued to produce eupyrene sperm,contradicting the previous predictions for *** eupyrene:apyrene ratio in the lifetime ejaculates remained unchanged in all treatments,suggesting that the sperm ratio is critical for reproductive *** juvenile exposure to other juveniles regardless of sex ratio caused significantly shorter adult longevity and faster decline in sperm ejaculation over successive ***,males from all treatments achieved similar number of matings in their *** study provides insight into adaptive resource allocation by males in response to juvenile sociosexual environment.

The unsteady flow of viscous incompressible shear-thinning non-Newtonian fluid with mixed bound- ary is investigated. The boundary condition on the outflow is the modified natural boundary condition, it con- tains the additional nonlinear term, which enables us to control the kinetic energy of the backward flow. The global existence of weak solution is proved. The fictitious domain method which consists in filling the moving rigid screws with the surrounding fluid and taking into account the boundary conditions on these bodies by introducing a well-chosen distribution of boundary forces is used.

Propagation process of electrically induced fatigue cracking in BaTiO3 single crystal has been studied using atomic force microscope (AFM). The results show that alternating electric field generates a random domain switch-ing around indentation cracks instead of a cyclic domain switching and an arrest indentation crack can be re-initiated by applying either positive or negative alternating electric field.

In this study,the rheological properties,crystallization and foaming behavior of poly(lactic acid)with polyamide 6 nanofibrils were examined with polyethylene glycol as a *** 6 particles were deformed into nanofibrils during *** the 10%polyamide 6 case,polyethylene glycol addition reduced the polyamide 6 fibril diameter from 365.53 to 254.63 nm,owing to the smaller polyamide 6 particle size and enhanced interface *** experiments revealed that the viscosity and storage modulus of the composites were increased,which was associated with the three-dimensional entangled network of polyamide 6 *** presence of higher aspect ratio polyamide 6 nanofibrils substantially enhanced the melt strength of the *** isothermal crystallization kinetics results suggested that the polyamide 6 nanofibrils and polyethylene glycol had a synergistic effect on accelerating poly(lactic acid)*** the polyethylene glycol,the crystallization half-time reduced from 103.6 to 62.2 *** foaming results indicated that owing to higher cell nucleation efficiency,the existence of polyamide 6 nanofibrils led to a higher cell density and lower expansion ***,the poly(lactic acid)/polyamide 6 foams exhibited a higher cell density and expansion ratio than that of the foams without polyethylene glycol.

Maternal behaviors and brains change dramatically with pregnancy,parturition and other mothering ***,whether paternal behavior,brain plasticity and levels of relevant hormones also change along with fathering experience and pups’age remains *** socially monogamous mandarin voles(Micro-tus mandarinus),we found that experienced fathers exhibited more active paternal behaviors,such as licking,retrievals and nest building,but less paternal care,such as huddling,than new *** high levels of licking and nest building appeared in the earlier days of their mate’s *** fathers retrieved 9–13-day-old pups more ***,these paternal behaviors did not show significant changes with age of pups in new *** addition,experienced fathers had dramatically higher prolactin levels than new fathers but had similar concentrations of testosterone to new *** fathers had lower levels of testosterone but higher levels of prolactin than new paired *** fathers had higher prolactin levels in the earlier days of their mate’s *** new and experienced fathers had similar dendritic length and spine density on pyramidal neurons in the medial prefrontal cortex but displayed higher levels than new paired *** together,these results indicate that reduction of testosterone levels and increase of prolactin levels may be associated with initiation of paternal *** experience significantly affects levels of parental care and paternal behaviors toward different aged pups,and brain plasticity can also be enhanced by transition to fatherhood.

The purification of low-grade coal-bed methane is extremely important,but challenging,due to the very similar physical properties of CH_(4)and ***,we proposed a dual polarization strategy by employing triazine and polyfluoride sites to construct polar pores in COF materials,achieving the efficient separa-tion of CH_(4)from *** expected,the dual polarized F-CTF-1 and F-CTF-2 exhibit higher CH_(4)adsorption capacity and CH_(4)/N_(2)selectivity than CTF-1 and CTF-2,***,the CH4 uptake capacity and CH_(4)/N_(2)selectivity of F-CTF-2 is 1.76 and 1.42 times than that of *** work not only developed promising COF materials for CH4/N_(2)separation,but also provided important guidance for the separation of other adsorbates with similar properties.
