The controlled self-assembly of organic heterostructures(OHSs)with precisely defined compositions,architectures,and interfaces,have largely remained a ***,we introduce an effective approach to accurately construct three types of axial branching OHSs including unilateral axial OHSs,bilateral single-branching axial OHSs and bilateral multi-branching axial OHSs through modulating hierarchical charge-transfer intermolecular interactions and sequential crystal nucleation rate on account of the two different cocrystals with the low lattice mismatching rate of~2.2%.The present work opens an avenue for rationally designing and finely synthesizing more kinds of OHSs.

Frequent counting is a very so often required operation in machine learning algorithms. A typical machine learning task, learning the structure of Bayesian network （BN） based on metric scoring, is introduced as an example that heavily relies on frequent counting. A fast calculation method for frequent counting enhanced with two cache layers is then presented for learning BN. The main contribution of our approach is to eliminate comparison operations for frequent counting by introducing a multi-radix number system calculation. Both mathematical analysis and empirical comparison between our method and state-of-the-art solution are conducted. The results show that our method is dominantly superior to state-of-the-art solution in solving the problem of learning BN.

Physical unclonable function （PUF） makes use of the uncontrollable process variations during the production of IC to generate a unique signature for each IC. It has a wide application in security such as FPGA intellectual property （IP） protection, key generation and digital rights management. Ring oscillator （RO） PUF and Arbiter PUF are the most popular PUFs, but they are not specially designed for FPGA. RO PUF incurs high resource overhead while obtaining less challenge-response pairs, and requires ＂hard macros＂ to implement on FPGAs. The arbiter PUF brings low resource overhead, but its structure has big bias when it is mapped on FPGAs. Anderson PUF can address these weaknesses of current Arbiter and RO PUFs implemented on FPGAs. However, it cannot be directly implemented on the new generation 28 nm FPGAs. In order to address these problems, this paper designs and implements a delay-based PUF that uses two LUTs in an SLICEM to implement two 16-bit shift registers of the PUF, 2-to-1 multiplexers in the carry chain to implement the multiplexers of the PUF, and any one of the 8 flip-flops to latch 1-bit PUF signatures. The proposed delay-based PUF is completely realized on 28 nm commercial FPGAs, and the experimental results show its high uniqueness, reliability and reconfigurability. Moreover, we test the impact of aging on it, and the results show that the effect of aging on the proposed PUF is insignificant, with only 6% bit-flips. Finally, the prospects of the proposed PUF in the FPGA binding and volatile key generation are discussed.

Predicting the three-dimensional structure of proteins from amino acid sequences with only a few remote homologs,or de novo prediction,remains a major challenge in computational *** modeling of the protein backbone represents the initial phase of a protein structure prediction *** a parallel ant colony optimization based on sharing one pheromone matrix,this report proposes a parallel approach to predict the structure of a protein *** parallel approach combines various sources of energy functions and generates protein backbones with the lowest energies jointly determined by the various energy *** free modeling targets in CASP8/9 are used to evaluate the performance of the *** 13 targets in CASP8,two out of the predicted model1s selected by our approach are the best of the published CASP8 results,and seven out of the model1s are ranked in the top *** 29 targets in CASP9,20 out of the best models from our predictions are ranked in the top 10,and 11 out of the model1s are ranked in the top 10.

Influence factors for the oxidation of pyrite by oxygen and birnessite in aqueous systems

The oxidation of exposed pyrite causes acid mine drainage, soil acidification, and the release of toxic metal ions. As the important abiotic oxidants in supergene environments,oxygen and manganese oxides participate in the oxidation of pyrite. In this work, the oxidation processes of natural pyrite by oxygen and birnessite were studied in simulated systems, and the influence of p H, Fe（II） and Cr（III） on the intermediates and redox rate was investigated. SO42-and elemental S were formed as the major and minor products,respectively, during the oxidation processes. Ferric（hydr） oxides including Fe（OH）3and goethite were formed with low degree of crystallinity. Low p H and long-term reaction facilitated the formation of goethite and ferric hydroxide, respectively. The rate of pyrite oxidation by birnessite was enhanced in the presence of air（oxygen）, and Fe（II） ions played a key role in the redox process. The addition of Fe（II） ions to the reaction system significantly enhanced the oxidation rate of pyrite; however, the presence of Cr（III） ions remarkably decreased the pyrite oxidation rate in aqueous systems. The introduction of Fe（II） ions to form a Fe（III）/Fe（II） redox couple facilitated the electron transfer and accelerated the oxidation rate of pyrite. The present work suggests that isolation from air and decreasing the concentration of Fe（II） ions in aqueous solutions might be effective strategies to reduce the oxidation rate of pyrite in mining soils.

Melanoma has been a serious threat to the human health;however,effective therapeutic methods of this cancer are still *** local therapy is a crucial approach for achieving a superior anti-tumor *** this paper,a chemo-immunotherapy system of DOX,IL-2 and IFN-g based on poly(g-ethyl-Lglutamate)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(g-ethyl-L-glutamate)(PELG-PEG-PELG)hydrogel was developed for local treatment of melanoma *** drug release process of this system exhibited a short term of burst release(the first 3 days),followed by a long-term sustained release(the following 26 days).The hydrogel degraded completely within 3 weeks without obvious inflammatory responses in the subcutaneous layer of rats,showing a good biodegradability and *** DOX/IL-2/IFN-g co-loaded hydrogel also showed enhanced anti-tumor effect against B16F10 cells in vitro,through increasing the ratio of cell apoptosis and G2/S phage cycle ***,the combined strategy presented improved therapy efficacy against B16F10 melanoma xenograft without obvious systemic side effects in a nude mice model,which was likely related to both the enhanced tumor cell apoptosis and the increased proliferation of the CD3t/CD4t T-lymphocytes and CD3t/CD8t ***,the strategy of localized co-delivery of DOX/IL-2/IFN-g using the polypeptide hydrogel provided a promising approach for efficient melanoma therapy.

Organic luminescent materials play an integral role in the optoelectronic applications of displays and solid-state ***, high-performance organic luminescent materials require the efficient combination of two or more kinds of materials, which is extremely difficult owing to the completely different self-assembly behaviors of multicomponent ***, based on a broad scale from the molecular, micro-/nano-scale, and macroscopic levels, we successfully demonstrate the multiscale construction of organic luminescent microwires of cocrystals, solid solutions, and core-shell microstructures. Through the wide selection of electron donor/acceptor pairs, a series of color-tunable charge-transfer(CT) cocrystals are formed via the intermolecular cooperative self-assembly process. On this basis, the high structural compatibility and perfect lattice mismatching(~1.1%) of cocrystals are critical factors that facilitate the combination of dissimilar materials to form solid solutions and core/shell microwires. Significantly, because of the full-spectrum light transport from 400 to 800 nm, the nano-micro-scaled solid solution microwires act as microscale white-light sources [CIE(0.32, 0.36)]. Meanwhile, the macroscopic-scale core/shell organic-microwires demonstrate tunable white-light emission with a high color-rendering index(CRI) of 83, whose CIE coordinates span from(0.37, 0.39) to(0.40, 0.31). Therefore, our work provides a feasible approach to the multiscale synthesis of novel luminescent organic semiconductor materials, which could lay a solid foundation for organic optoelectronics.

Micro-nano-level photonic waveguide regulation is essential for future on-chip photonic integrated systems and is still of great *** report a molecular design strategy,changing the position of the methyl substituent makes the arrangement of the three isomer molecules different in their respective *** on this strategy,three sheet-like crystals with different polygonal morphologies were prepared via solution self-assembly *** in-depth optical measurements demonstrated that these three microsheet crystals have different 2D optical waveguide performances related to the *** work provides a feasible design strategy and material preparation method for realizing precise 2D optical waveguide modulation,which lays the foundation for complex photonic integrated systems in the future.
