Sequential Latin hypercube designs(SLHDs) have recently received great attention for computer experiments, with much of the research restricted to invariant spaces. The related systematic construction methods are inflexible, and algorithmic methods are ineffective for large designs. For designs in contracting spaces, systematic construction methods have not been investigated yet. This paper proposes a new method for constructing SLHDs via good lattice point sets in various experimental spaces. These designs are called sequential good lattice point(SGLP) sets. Moreover, we provide efficient approaches for identifying the(nearly)optimal SGLP sets under a given criterion. Combining the linear level permutation technique, we obtain a class of asymptotically optimal SLHDs in invariant spaces, where the L1-distance in each stage is either optimal or asymptotically optimal. Numerical results demonstrate that the SGLP set has a better space-filling property than the existing SLHDs in invariant spaces. It is also shown that SGLP sets have less computational complexity and more adaptability.

BACKGROUND Accumulating clinical evidence has shown that diabetes mellitus(DM)is a serious risk factor for cardiovascular disorders and an important factor for adverse cardiovascular *** To explore the value of the combined determination of the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and red blood cell distribution width(RDW)in the early diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of DM complicated with heart failure(HF).METHODS We retrospectively analyzed clinical data on 65 patients with type 2 DM(T2DM)complicated with HF(research group,Res)and 60 concurrent patients with uncomplicated T2DM(control group,Con)diagnosed at Zhejiang Provincial People’s Hospital between January 2019 and December *** NLR and RDW values were determined and comparatively analyzed,and their levels in T2DM+HF patients with different cardiac function grades were *** receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were plotted to determine the NLR and RDW values(alone and in combination)for the early diagnosis of *** correlation between NLR and RDW with the presence or absence of cardiac events was also *** Higher NLR and RDW levels were identified in the Res vs the Con groups(P<0.05).The NLR and RDW increased gradually and synchronously with the deterioration of cardiac function in the Res group,with marked differences in their levels among patients with grade II,III,and IV HF(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis revealed that NLR combined with RDW detection had an area under the curve of 0.915,a sensitivity of 76.9%,and a specificity of 100%for the early diagnosis of ***,HF patients with cardiac events showed higher NLR and RDW values compared with HF patients without cardiac *** NLR and RDW were useful laboratory indicators for the early diagnosis of DM complicated with HF,and their joint detection was beneficial for improving diagnostic ***,NLR and RDW values were directly proportional to patient outcomes.

Objective:Hepatolenticular degeneration (HLD) is an autosomal recessive disorder that manifests as multiorgan damage due to impaired copper (Cu) metabolism. Female patients with HLD often experience reproductive impairments. This study investigated the protective effect of berberine against ovarian damage in toxic-milk (TX) mice, a murine model for ***:Mice were categorized into control group, HLD TX group (HLD group), penicillamine (Cu chelator)-treated TX group and berberine-treated TX group. Body weight, ovary weight and the number of ovulated eggs were recorded. Follicular morphology and cellular ultrastructure were examined. Total iron, ferrous iron (Fe2+) and trivalent iron (Fe3+) levels, as well as malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione(GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG), were measured in the ovaries. Western blot analysis was used to analyze the expression of proteins related to ferroptosis and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) ***:Ovarian tissue damage was evident in the HLD group, with a significant increase in ferroptosis and ER stress compared to the control group. This damage was inhibited by treatment with penicillamine,a Cu chelator. Compared with the HLD group, berberine increased the number of ovulations, and improved ovarian morphology and ultrastructure. Further, we found that berberine reduced total iron,Fe2+, MDA and GSSG levels, elevated GSH levels, decreased the expression of the ferroptosis marker protein prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2), and increased glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4)expression. Furthermore, berberine inhibited the expression of ER stress-associated proteins mediated by the protein kinase RNA-like ER kinase (PERK) ***:Ferroptosis and ER stress are involved in Cu-induced ovarian damage in TX mice. Berberine ameliorates ovarian damage in HLD TX mice by inhibiting ferroptosis and ER stress.

Objective:To explore the effect of sodium ferulate in combined with atorvastatin on the renal interstitial fibrosis and inflammatory cytokines in patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN). Methods: A total of 111 patients with DN who were admitted in our hospital from January, 2016 to April, 2017 were included in the study and randomized into the observation group and the control 1 and 2 group with 37 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were given routine blood sugar reducing, blood pressure reducing, and high quality low protein diet. On the above basis, the patients in the control 2 group were orally administrated with atorvastatin before sleep (20 mg). On the basis of treatments in the control 1 group, the patients in the observation group were given sodium ferulate (0.3 g) + 0.9% NaCl (250 mL), ivdrip, 1 time/d, and administrated with atorvastatin before sleep (20 mg). The fasting peripheral venous blood before and after treatment in the three groups was collected. The glycse oxidase (GOD) method was used to detect FPG. ELISA was used to detect SCr, TGF-β, AngⅡ, CTGF, hs-CRP, TNF-α, and IL-6. RIA was used to detect BUN and 24hUAER. The strengthened chemiluminescence immunoassay was used to detect CⅣ and PCⅢ. MAP was recorded. Results: FPG, MAP, BUN, 24hUAER, and SCr after treatment in the control 2 group were significantly lower than those in the control 1 group. FPG, MAP, BUN, 24hUAER, and SCr after treatment in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control 2 group. AngⅡ, TGF-β, CTGF, PCⅢ, and CⅣ after treatment in the control 2 group were significantly lower than those in the control 1 group. AngⅡ, TGF-β, CTGF, PCⅢ, and CⅣ after treatment in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control 2 group.
