fungal diversity and its mechanism of community shaping in the milieu of sanitary landfill

Land filling is the main method to dispose municipal solid waste in *** the decomposition of organic waste in landfills,fungi play an important role in organic carbon degradation and nitrogen ***,fungal composition and potential functions in landfill have not yet been *** this study,refuse and leachate samples with different areas and depths were taken from a large sanitary landfill in Beijing to identify fungal communities in *** high-throughput sequencing of ITS region,474 operational taxonomic units(OTUs)were obtained from landfill samples with a cutoff level of 3%and a sequencing depth of *** results indicates that Ascomycota,with the average relative abundance of 84.9%,was the predominant phylum in landfill fungal *** the genus level,Family Hypocreaceae unclassified(15.7%),fusarium(9.9%)and Aspergillus(8.3%)were the most abundant fungi found in the landfill and most of them are of saprotrophic lifestyle,which plays a big role in nutrient cycling in *** existed both in landfilled refuse and leachate while both the richness and evenness of fungal communities were higher in the *** addition,fungal communities in landfilled refuse presented geographic variances,which could be partly attributed to physical habitat properties(pH,dissolved organic carbon,volatile solid,NH_(4)^(+),NO_(2)^(−)and NO_(3)^(−)),while NO_(3)^(−)was considered the most significant factor(pfungal community.

X-ray detection based on complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor sensors

Complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS) sensors can convert X-rays into detectable signals; therefore, they are powerful tools in X-ray detection applications. Herein, we explore the physics behind X-ray detection performed using CMOS sensors. X-ray measurements were obtained using a simulated positioner based on a CMOS sensor, while the X-ray energy was modified by changing the voltage, current, and radiation time. A monitoring control unit collected video data of the detected X-rays. The video images were framed and filtered to detect the effective pixel points(radiation spots).The histograms of the images prove there is a linear relationship between the pixel points and X-ray energy. The relationships between the image pixel points, voltage, and current were quantified, and the resultant correlations were observed to obey some physical laws.

Regional relationship between the Jiang-Huai Meiyu and the equatorial surface-subsurface temperature anomalies

The Jiang-Huai Meiyu rainy season can be distinguished into the Jiangnan Meiyu spell and the Huaihe Meiyu spell. The Jiangnan Meiyu spell appears on the last ten days in June and the Huaihe Meiyu spell lasts from early July to middle July. An inter-decadal transition was observed in 1998 respectively from the anomalies of Jiangnan Meiyu rainfall,the sea surface temperature (SST),and the subsurface tem-perature in the equatorial Pacific. Since the beginning of the 21st century,opposite trends and biennial oscillations of the Meiyu rainfall are observed in the Jiangnan and Huaihe basins. Before the strong La Nia of 1999―2000,the positive SST anomalies usually occurred in the eastern equatorial Pacific. Since the beginning of the 21st century,a precursory warming signal of SST anomaly comes from the subsurface temperature which is centrally exposed near the dateline in the central equatorial Pacific. The above-normal Meiyu rainfall in 2003,2005 and 2007 over the Huaihe basin followed the prior winter-spring positive SST anomaly near the dateline. A relationship shows that the more Jiangnan (Huaihe) Meiyu follows the winter-spring warm water in the eastern (central) equatorial Pacific.

In spinful electronic systems,time-reversal symmetry makes that all Kramers pairs at the time-reversal-invariant momenta are Weyl points(WPs)in chiral ***,we find that such symmetry-enforced WPs can also emerge in bosonic systems(*** and photons)due to nonsymmorphic *** demonstrate that for some nonsymmorphic chiral space groups,several high-symmetry k-points can host only WPs in the phononic systems,dubbed symmetry-enforced Weyl phonons(SEWPs).

Physical-based constitutive model considering the microstructure evolution during hot working of AZ80 magnesium alloy

A physical-based constitutive model was developed to model the viscoplastic flow behavior and microstructure evolution of AZ80 magnesium alloy during the hot working process. The competing deformation mechanisms, including work hardening, dynamic recovery, and dynamic recrystallization, in an isothermal compression environment were considered in the model. The internal state variables, including the normalized dislocation density and recrystallized volume fraction, were incorporated into the model to articulate the microstructure evolution during hot deformation. The kinetic condition critical for dynamic recrystallization, considering the effects of the deformation temperature and strain rate, was obtained by employing both the Poliak-Jonas criterion and Zener-Hollomon parameter. Microstructure observations indicate that the recrystallized volume fraction increases with decreasing Z parameter at constant strain, which is consistent with the predicted kinetics model. Based on the developed model, a good correlation was also obtained between the predicted and experimental flow stress. The results indicate a good predictability of the model in describing the hot deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of AZ80 magnesium alloy.

Microcarriers have a demonstrated value for biomedical applications,in particular for drug delivery and three-dimensional cell *** to develop this technique tend to focus on the fabrication of functional microparticles by using convenient methods with innovative but accessible *** by the process of boiling eggs in everyday life,which causes the solidification of egg proteins,we present a new microfluidic‘‘cooking"approach for the generation of egg-derived microcarriers for cell culture and drug *** the egg emulsion droplets are formed with exquisite precision during the microfluidic emulsification,the resultant egg microcarriers present highly monodisperse and uniform morphologies at the size range of hundred microns to one *** from the excellent biocompatibility of the egg protein components,the obtained microcarriers showed good performances of cell adherence and *** addition,after a freezing treatment,the egg microcarriers were shown to have interconnected porous structures throughout their whole sphere,could absorb and load different kinds of drugs or other active molecules,and work as microcarrier-based delivery *** features point to the potential value of the microfluidic egg microcarriers in biomedicine.

Al 1060/Pure Iron Clad Materials by Vacuum Roll Bonding and Their Solderability

Al 1060/pure iron clad materials were produced by vacuum roll bonding. The effects of preheating temperature, vacuum roll reduction and initial thickness of the A11060 sheet on the metal interface and bonding strength were investigated. The interfacial microstructure was investigated and the mechanical properties of the joint were evaluated by shear testing. The bonding strength of the clad materials was generally enhanced by increasing the total reduction or preheating temperature, which caused the metal interface to flatten. No obvious reaction or diffusion layer was observed at the interface between Al 1060 and pure iron. The bonding strength increased with decreasing the initial thickness of the Al 1060 sheets. The Al 1060/pure iron clad materials were soldered with Zn-Al alloy by using an ultrasonic-assisted method. Strong bonding of the Al 1060 layer and Al 7N01 was realized without obvious Al 1060 dissolution or effect on the initial interface of Al 1060/pure iron clad materials by soldering at relatively low temperature.

Target-activated and ratiometric photochromic probe for “double-check” detection of toxic thiols in live cells

Photochromic molecules can achieve reversible isomerization upon alternate light irradiations, which offers a great opportunity to improve the precision of analytes detection and imaging in complicated biological environments. Previous reported photochromic probe exhibited only mono-color switching and an initially fluorescence-ON state that may cause high background signal and impose an adverse impact on the desired sensing precision. To overcome this set-back, we developed a novel photochromic probe with an analyte-activation mode for ratiometric sensing of toxic thiols in both real water samples and live cells. The dynamic dual-fluorescence signal is released only after the fast and selective cleavage of the 2,4-dinitrophenyl sulfonate by the targeted thiophenol derivatives. Consequently, a "double-check" with synchronized dual-fluorescence blinking for analyte detection is successfully employed upon alternate light triggers with rapid response(k=7.2×10^(-2) s^(-1)), high sensitivity(LOD=6.1 nM) as well as selectivity of thiophenol derivatives over other common thiol species(e.g., GSH, Cys and Hcy). The photochromic probe was successfully introduced to the fast and on-site detection of highly toxic thiophenols in real waste water samples. Moreover, by using confocal laser-scanning microscopy(CLSM) and flow cytometric analysis, the potential applications of this ratiometric photochromic probe for trace toxic thiol sensing in live cells are examined.
