CO_(2)hydrogenation to methanol has become one of the most promising ways for CO_(2)utilization,however,the CO_(2)conversion rate and methanol selectivity of this reaction still need to be improved for industrial application.Here we investigated the structure-activity relationship for CO_(2)conversion to methanol of In_(2)O_(3)-based catalysts by modulating morphology and decorating Au.Three different Au/In_(2)O_(3)catalysts were prepared,their activity follow the sequence of Au/In_(2)O_(3)-nanosphere(Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NS)>Au/In_(2)O_(3)-nanoplate(Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NP)>Au/In_(2)O_(3)-hollow microsphere(Au/In_(2)O_(3)-HM).Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NS exhibited the best performance with good CO_(2)conversion of 12.7%,high methanol selectivity of 59.8%,and large space time yield of 0.32 g CH_(3)OH/(hr·gcat)at 300℃.The high performance of Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NS was considered as the presence of Au.It contributes to the creation of more surface oxygen vacancies,which further promoted the CO_(2)adsorption and facilitated CO_(2)activation to form the formate intermediates towards methanol.This work clearly suggests that the activity of In_(2)O_(3)catalyst can be effective enhanced by structure engineering and Au decorating.

Nausea and vomiting are important defensive responses to cope with pathogens and toxins that invade the body. The nucleus of the solitary tract(NTS) is important for initiating these responses. However, the molecular heterogeneities and cellular diversities of the NTS occlude a better understanding of these defensive responses. Here, we constructed the single-nucleus transcriptomic atlas of NTS cells and found multiple populations of NTS neurons that may be involved in these defensive responses. Among these, we identified Calbindin1-positive(Calb1+) NTS neurons that are molecularly distinct from Tac1+neurons.These Calb1+neurons are critical for nausea and retching induced by cereulide; an emetic toxin secreted by Bacillus Cereus. Strikingly, we found that cereulide can directly modulate vagal sensory neurons that innervate Calb1+NTS neurons, a novel mechanism distinct from that for nausea and retching induced by Staphylococcal enterotoxin A. Together, our transcriptomic atlas of NTS neurons and the functional analyses revealed the neural mechanism for cereulide-induced retching-like behavior. These results demonstrate the molecular and cellular complexities in the brain that underlie defensive responses to the diversities of pathogens and toxins.

Achieving highly regioselective synthesis in organic chemistry is challenging due to the uncontrollable orientation between reacting partners.External electric fields(EEFs)can influence the reactivity and selectivity of the substrate by causing directional adsorption.However,scalable and efficient techniques for using EEFs as“smart catalysts”have been lacking,hindering their application.In this study,we present a novel method for modifying the regioselectivity of quinoxaline-2(1H)-ones by functionalizing their C7-position using the electric double layer(EDL)theory.This approach led to moderate to good yields of the corresponding C7-thiocyanation products.DFT calculations and control experiments demonstrated that EEFs could reverse the regioselectivity of quinoxaline-2(1H)-ones,allowing the C7-thiocyanation to proceed via a radical reaction mechanism.Additionally,the resulting 7-thiocyano-1-methylquinoxaline-2(1H)-ones exhibited promising AIE properties.Our work showcases a promising strategy for achieving highly regioselective functionalization by aligning the electric field with the desired reaction/bond axis.

MET gene alterations in lung cancer patients mainly include exon 14 skipping and gene amplification,which are the key therapeutic targets and drive resistance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKls).1 However,the structural variants of MET,such as MET fusions,are much rarer(0.26%),as reported in a Chinese non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)cohort.2 Several recurrent MET fusions,such as KIF5B-MET and HLADRB1-MET,were reported as oncogenic drivers and showed favorable responses to crizotinib.

The quality of the exposed avionics solder joints has a significant impact on the stable operation of the inorbit spacecrafts.Nevertheless,the previously reported inspection methods for multi-scale solder joint defects generally suffer low accuracy and slow detection speed.Herein,a novel real-time detector VMMAO-YOLO is demonstrated based on variable multi-scale concurrency and multi-depth aggregation network(VMMANet)backbone and“one-stop”global information gather-distribute(OS-GD)module.Combined with infrared thermography technology,it can achieve fast and high-precision detection of both internal and external solder joint defects.Specifically,VMMANet is designed for efficient multi-scale feature extraction,which mainly comprises variable multi-scale feature concurrency(VMC)and multi-depth feature aggregation-alignment(MAA)modules.VMC can extract multi-scale features via multiple fix-sized and deformable convolutions,while MAA can aggregate and align multi-depth features on the same order for feature inference.This allows the low-level features with more spatial details to be transmitted in depth-wise,enabling the deeper network to selectively utilize the preceding inference information.The VMMANet replaces inefficient highdensity deep convolution by increasing the width of intermediate feature levels,leading to a salient decline in parameters.The OS-GD is developed for efficacious feature extraction,aggregation and distribution,further enhancing the global information gather and deployment capability of the network.On a self-made solder joint image data set,the VMMAOYOLO achieves a mean average precision mAP@0.5 of 91.6%,surpassing all the mainstream YOLO-series models.Moreover,the VMMAO-YOLO has a body size of merely 19.3 MB and a detection speed up to 119 frame per second,far superior to the prevalent YOLO-series detectors.

Passive daytime radiative cooling(PDRC)technology is emerging as one of the most promising solutions to the global problem of spacing cooling,but its practical application is limited due to reduced cooling effectiveness caused by daily wear and tear,as well as dirt contamination.To tackle this problem,we report a novel strategy by introducing a renewable armor structure for prolonging the anti-fouling and cooling effectiveness properties of the PDRC coatings.The armor structure is designed by decorating fluorinated hollow glass microspheres(HGM)inside rigid resin composite matrices.The HGM serve triple purposes,including providing isolated cavities for enhanced solar reflectance,reinforcing the matrices to form robust armored structures,and increasing thermal emittance.When the coatings are worn,the HGM on the surface expose their concave cavities with numerous hydrophobic fragments,generating a highly rough surface that guarantee the superhydrophobic function.The coatings show a high sunlight reflectance(0.93)and thermal emittance(0.94)in the long-wave infrared window,leading to a cooling of 5℃ below ambient temperature under high solar flux(∼900 W/m^(2)).When anti-fouling functions are reduced,they can be regenerated more than 100 cycles without compromising the PDRC function by simple wearing treatment.Furthermore,these coatings can be easily prepared using a one-pot spray method with low-cost materials,exhibit strong adhesion to a variety of substrates,and demonstrate exceptional environmental stability.Therefore,we anticipate their immediate application opportunities for spacing cooling.

Fritillaria taipaiensis P.Y.Li is a widely used medicinal herb in treating pulmonary diseases.In recent years,its wild resources have become scarce,and the demand for efficient artificial cultivation has significantly increased.This article is the first to apply phosphate solubilizing bacteria isolated from the rhizosphere soil of F.taipaiensis P.Y.Li to the cultivation process of F.taipaiensis P.Y.Li.The aim is to identify suitable reference strains for the artificial cultivation and industrial development of F.taipaiensis P.Y.Li by examining the effects of various phosphate solubilizing bacteria and their combinations on photosynthesis,physiological and biochemical properties,and gene expression related to the protective enzyme system in F.taipaiensis P.Y.Li.The experiment,conducted in pots at room temperature,included a control group(CK)and groups inoculated with inorganic phosphorussolubilizing bacteria:W1(Bacillus cereus),W2(Serratia plymuthica),W12(Bacillus cereus and Serratia plymuthica),and groups inoculated with organophosphorus-solubilizing bacteria:Y1(Bacillus cereus),Y2(Bacillus cereus),Y12(Bacillus cereus and Bacillus cereus),totaling seven groups.Compared to CK,most growth indices in the bacterial addition groups showed significant differences,with W12 achieving the highest values in all indices except the leaf area index.The content of photosynthetic pigments,photosynthetic parameters,and osmoregulatory substances increased variably in each bacterial treatment group.W12 exhibited the highest content of chlorophyll a and soluble protein,while W1 had the highest free proline content.The activities of peroxidase(POD),superoxide dismutase(SOD),and catalase(CAT)in all inoculated groups were higher than in CK,with significant changes in SOD and CAT activities.The malondialdehyde(MDA)content in all inoculated groups was lower than in CK,with Y12 being the lowest,at approximately 30%of CK.Gene expression corresponding to these three enzymes also increased variably,with POD expression in Y2 being the highes

Glial progenitor cells were reported to have the capacity to generate various types of cells in both the central nervous system(CNS)and peripheral nervous system.Glial progenitor cells can respond to diverse environmental signals and transform into distinct populations,each serving specific functions.Notably,the adult spinal cord hosts various populations of glial progenitors,a region integral to the central nervous system.During development,glial progenitors express glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP;Dimou and Gotz,2014).However,the specific identities of GFAP-expressing progenitors in the adult spinal cord were not thoroughly investigated.

Disinfection by chloramination produces toxic byproducts and the difference in toxicity of reclaimed and drinking water treated by chloramination remains unclear.This study investigated cytotoxic effects at the same concentrations of dissolved organic matter and showed that chloraminated effluent organic matter(EfOM)induced 1.7 times higher cytotoxicity than chloraminated natural organic matter(NOM)applied to simulate drinking water.Chloraminated EfOM induced more reactive nitrogen species than chloraminated NOM,and chloraminated EfOM and NOM induced similar and higher levels of reactive oxygen species than the negative control,respectively.Consequently,intracellular macromolecule damage indicated by DNA/RNA damage marker 8–hydroxy-(deoxy)guanosine and the intracellular protein carbonyl concentration induced by chloraminated EfOM was higher and slightly more than that induced by chloraminated NOM,respectively.These data were consistent with the effects on cell physiological processes.Cell cycle arrest mainly occurred in G2 phase by chloraminated EfOM and NOM.Early apoptotic cells,which could return to normal,increased upon exposure to high concentrations of chloraminated EfOM and NOM.Moreover,necrotic cells were significantly increased from 0.5%to 2.5%when the concentration increased from 20-to 60-fold chloraminated EfOM,but were not obviously changed by chloraminated NOM.These results indicated that the comprehensive intracellular changes induced by toxic substances in chloraminated EfOM were more irreversible and induced more cell death than chloraminated NOM.

Dear Editor,Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),theseventh coronavirus known to jump from intermediate hosts to humans,has resulted in a worldwide pandemic and caused immense economicdamage(Tan et al.,2020;Zhu et al.,2020).It is believed that coronavirus spillover may occur again in the future.Human exposure to a bat coro-navirus has been serologically confimed in a rural area of China,indi-cating that the coronavirus spillover occurred,although the origin andfrequency of spillovers are unclear(Wang et al.,2018).
