Functional prediction of tomato PLATZ family members and functional verification of Sl PLATZ17

PLATZ is a novel zinc finger DNA-binding protein that plays an important role in regulating plant growth and development and resisting abiotic stress.However,there has been very little research on the function of this family gene in tomatoes,which limits its application in germplasm resource improvement.Therefore,the PLATZ gene family was identified and analyzed in tomato,and its roles were predicted and verified to provide a basis for in-depth research on SlPLATZ gene function.In this study,the PLATZ family members of tomato were identified in the whole genome,and 19 SlPLATZ genes were obtained.Functional prediction was conducted based on gene and promoter structure analysis and RNA-seq-based expression pattern analysis.SlPLATZ genes that responded significantly under different abiotic stresses or were significantly differentially expressed among multiple tissues were screened as functional gene resources.SlPLATZ17 was selected for functional verification by experiment-based analysis.The results showed that the downregulation of SlPLATZ17 gene expression reduced the drought and salt tolerance of tomato plants.Tomato plants overexpressing SlPLATZ17 had larger flower sizes and long,thin petals,adjacent petals were not connected at the base,and the stamen circumference was smaller.This study contributes to understanding the functions of the SlPLATZ family in tomato and provides a reference for functional gene screening.

Selective hydrogenation of C=C and C=O bonds in cinnamaldehyde (CAL) to produce desired products is a challenging task due to the complex conjugate system of the two unsaturated functional groups.In this study,a simple ball milling method is presented for synthesizing Pt-based single-atom alloy catalysts (SAAs) that can function as a control switch for the selective hydrogenation of CAL into highly valuable products.

What is already known about this topic?Mushroom poisoning poses a significant food safety concern in China,with a total of 196 species identified in poisoning incidents by the end of 2022.What is added by this report?In 2023,the China CDC conducted an investigation into 505 cases of mushroom poisoning spanning 24 provincial-level administrative divisions.This investigation resulted in 1,303 patients and 16 deaths,yielding a case fatality rate of 1.23%.A total of 97 mushrooms were identified as the cause of 6 distinct clinical disease types,with 12 species newly documented as poisonous mushrooms in China.What are the implications for public health practice?Close collaboration among CDC staff,physicians,and mycologists remains crucial for the control and prevention of mushroom poisoning in the future.

Hybridization and polyploidization have made great contributions to speciation,heterosis,and agricultural production within plants,but there is still limited understanding and utilization in animals.Subgenome structure and expression reorganization and cooperation post hybridization and polyploidization are essential for speciation and allopolyploid success.However,the mechanisms have not yet been comprehensively assessed in animals.here,we produced a high-fidelity reference genome sequence for common carp,a typical allotetraploid fish species cultured worldwide.This genome enabled in-depth analysis of the evolution of subgenome architecture and expression responses.Most genes were expressed with subgenome biases,with a trend of transition from the expression of subgenome A during the early stages to that of subgenome B during the late stages of embryonic development.While subgenome A evolved more rapidly,subgenome B contributed to a greater level of expression during development and under stressful conditions.Stable dominant patterns for homoeologous gene pairs both during development and under thermal stress suggest a potential fixed heterosis in the allotetraploid genome.Preferentially expressing either copy of a homoeologous gene at higher levels to confer development and response to stress indicates the dominant effect of heterosis.The plasticity of subgenomes and their shifting of dominant expression during early development,and in response to stressful conditions,provide novel insights into the molecular basis of the successful speciation,evolution,and heterosis of the allotetraploid common carp.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD)affects approximately 25%of the world's population and has become a leading cause of chronic liver disease.In recent years,an increasing amount of data suggests that MASLD is associated with aging.As the population ages,age-related MASLD will become a major global health problem.Targeting an aging will become a new approach to the treatment of MASLD.This paper reviews the current studies on the role of aging-related factors and therapeutic targets in MASLD,including:Oxidative stress,autophagy,mitochondrial homeostasis,bile acid metabolism homeostasis,and dysbiosis.The aim is to identify effective therapeutic targets for age-related MASLD and its progression.

This article takes 2016-2022 as the inspection period to construct an evaluation index system for the green development level of the new energy vehicle industry.The entropy method and comprehensive index are used to measure the green development level of the new energy vehicle industry in Chongqing,and compared with neighboring provinces such as Yunnan,Guizhou,and Sichuan.Policy recommendations are proposed to promote the development of the new energy vehicle industry in Chongqing City.

Single Cu atom dispersed on S,N-codoped nanocarbon derived from shrimp shells for highly-efficient oxygen reduction reaction

Recently,Cu-based single-atom catalysts(SACs)have garnered increasing attention as substitutes for platinum-based catalysts in the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Therefore,a facile,economical,and efficient synthetic methodology for the preparation of a high-performance Cu-based SAC electrocatalyst for the ORR is extremely desired,but is also significantly challenging.In this study,we propose a ball-milling method to synthesize isolated metal SACs embedded in S,N-codoped nanocarbon(MNSDC,M=Cu,Fe,Co,Ni,Mn,Pt,and Pd).In particular,the Cu-NSDC SACs exhibit high electrochemical activity for the ORR with half-wave potential(E_(1/2))of 0.84 V(vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(Rhe),20 mV higher than Pt/C)in alkaline electrolyte,excellent stability,and electrocatalytic selectivity.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrated that the desorption of OH*intermediates was the rate-determining step over Cu-NSDC.This study creates a pathway for high-performance ORR single atomic electrocatalysts for fuel cell applications and provides opportunities to convert biowaste materials into commercial opportunities.

Exploration of the relationship between the astronomical calendar and the origins of Qi,Yin and Yang,and the Five Elements

Background:Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)as a traditional Chinese medical practice,has gradually evolved into a coherent and systematic medical science based on natural principles and applied to human beings over time.The publication of the“Huangdi Neijing”(The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine,Written between the Warring States period and the Qin and Han Dynasties,and finally compiled in the Western Han Dynasty,from 475 B.C.E.-8 C.E.)signified the establishment of a comprehensive theoretical framework for Chinese medicine.Due to the perspective of the‘correspondence between heaven and man’in TCM,the purpose of this paper is to explore the origin and development of the basic theories of TCM under the ancient astronomical view and the connection between the two.Methods:This paper emphases on the universe uninty with the humanities,philosophy,and medicine,starting with the forms of stargazing in ancient Chinese astronomy and the natural laws derived by the ancients from their observations of natural celestial phenomena.Results:Astronomy,arts and crafts,divination and medical correlations are based on the sequential changes of natural seasons.Conclusion:The operation of natural celestial phenomena and the characteristics of physical phenomena correspond to human physiology,and the development of the basic theories of Chinese medicine is inextricably linked to ancient astronomy,ancient philosophy,and ancient primeval science.

Anomaly Detection and Access Control for Cloud-Edge Collaboration Networks

Software-defined networking(SDN)enables the separation of control and data planes,allowing for centralized control and management of the network.Without adequate access control methods,the risk of unau-thorized access to the network and its resources increases significantly.This can result in various security breaches.In addition,if authorized devices are attacked or controlled by hackers,they may turn into malicious devices,which can cause severe damage to the network if their abnormal behaviour goes undetected and their access privileges are not promptly restricted.To solve those problems,an anomaly detection and access control mechanism based on SDN and neural networks is proposed for cloud-edge collaboration networks.The system employs the Attribute Based Access Control(ABAC)model and smart contract for fine-grained control of device access to the network.Furthermore,a cloud-edge collaborative Key Performance Indicator(KPI)anomaly detection method based on the Gated Recurrent Unit and Generative Adversarial Nets(GRU-GAN)is designed to discover the anomaly devices.An access restriction mechanism based on reputation value and anomaly detection is given to prevent anomalous devices.Experiments show that the proposed mechanism performs better anomaly detection on several datasets.The reputation-based access restriction effectively reduces the number of malicious device attacks.
