Junshanyinzhen tea extract prevents obesity by regulating gut microbiota and metabolic endotoxemia in high-fat diet fed rats

Obesity is associated with gut dysbiosis and metabolic *** tea extract(JSTE)reduced fat accumulation and body weight in obese ***,the effects and mechanism of JSTE in preventing obesity were ***,we used different doses of JSTE(75,150 and 300 mg/(kg·day))to evaluate the effect on high-fat diet(HFD)-induced rats under 8 weeks of ***,our results showed that JSTE could significantly reduce body weight gain,blood lipid levels and fat accumulation,improve fatty damage in liver tissue(P<0.05).In addition,JSTE increased the expression of intestinal tight junction proteins(P<0.05),relieved metabolic endotoxemia(P<0.05)and chronic low-grade inflammation in HFD *** of fecal samples showed that JSTE could effectively reverse the microbial diversity and the ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes to normal levels in HFD-fed *** and Erysipelotrichaceae,which are positively related to obesity,were decreased by JSTE intervention(P<0.05).while Bifidobacteriaceae,Bacteroidaceae,Akkermansia,and Clostridium,which are negatively related to obesity,were ***,these results suggested that JSTE might effectively prevent obesity by modulating gut microbiota dysbiosis,intestinal barrier dysfunction,metabolic endotoxemia and chronic low-grade infl ammation in HFD-induced rats.

Glioblastoma(GBM)is the most common intrinsic and aggressive primary brain tumor in adults,with a median survival of approximately 15 *** heterogeneity is considered responsible for the treatment resistance and unfavorable ***-mesenchymal transition(PMT)represents GBM malignant progression and recurrence,which might be a breakthrough to understand GBM heterogeneity and overcome treatment *** is a complicated process influenced by crosstalk between GBM and tumor microenvironment,depending on intricate ligand-receptor *** this review,we summarize the autocrine and paracrine pathways in the GBM microenvironment and related ligand-receptor interactions inducing *** also discuss the current therapies targeting the PMT-related autocrine and paracrine ***,this review offers a comprehensive understanding of the failure of GBM-targeted therapy and ideas for future tendencies of GBM treatment.

Tourmaline guiding the electric field and dechlorination pathway of 2,3-dichlorophenol by Desulfitobacterium hafniense

The dehalogenation of organohalides has been a research hotspot in bioremediation field;however,the influence of tourmaline,a natural ore that can generate spontaneous electric field,on organohalide-respiring bacteria(OHRB)and their dechlorination process is not well *** this study,the effect and mechanism of tourmaline on the reductive dechlorination of 2,3-dichlorophenol(2,3-DCP)by Desulfitobacterium hafniense DCB-2Twere *** characterization results confirmed that tourmaline had good stability and the optimal dosage of tourmaline was 2.5 g/L,which shortened the total time required for dechlorination reaction to 72 ***,tourmaline amendment also increased the proportion of 2-chlorophenol(2-CP)from 18%to 30%of end products,while that of 3-CP decreased *** theoretical calculations showed that the bond charge of the orthosubstituted chlorine declined from-0.179 to-0.067,and that of meta-substituted chlorine increased from-0.111 to-0.129,which indicated that the spontaneous electric field of tourmaline affected the charge distribution of 2,3-DCP and was more conducive to the generation of ***,tourmaline with the spontaneous electric field affected the reductive dechlorination pathway of Desulfitobacterium,and the tourmaline-OHRB combining system might serve as a novel strategy for the bioremediation of environments polluted with chlorinated phenols.

A Wigner-distribution-like (WDL) function based on the strong-field approximation (SFA) theory is used to investigate the ionization time of the photoelectron emitted from the initial states with different magnetic quantum number m in elliptically polarized electric fields. The saddle-point method is adopted for comparisons. For different m states, a discrepancy exists in the WDL distributions of the photoelectrons emitted in a direction close to the major axis of the laser field ellipse. Based on the saddle-point analysis, this discrepancy can be ascribed to the interference between electrons ionized from two tunneling instants. Our results show that the relationships between the tunneling instants and kinetic energy of photoelectrons are the same for different m initial states when the Coulomb potential is not considered. Our work sheds some light on the ionization-time information of electrons from different magnetic quantum states.

Covalent organic frameworks/carbon nanotubes composite with cobalt(II)pyrimidine sites for bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysis

With characteristics and advantages of functional composite materials, they are commendably adopted in numerous fields especially in oxygen electrocatalysis, which is due to the significant synergies between various components. Herein, a novel bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst（Co-CNT@COF-Pyr） has been synthesized through in-situ growth of covalent organic frameworks（COFs） layers on the outer surface of highly conductive carbon nanotubes（CNTs） followed by coordination with Co（II）. For electrocatalytic OER, Co-CNT@COF-Pyr reveals a low overpotential（438 mV） in alkaline electrolyte（1.0 M aqueous solution of KOH） with a current density of 10 mA cm-2, which is comparable to most discovered COF-based catalysts. For electrocatalytic ORR, CoCNT@COF-Pyr exhibits a low H2O2yield range（9.0 %–10.1 %） and a reaction pathway close to 4e-（n =3.82–3.80） in alkaline electrolyte（0.1 M aqueous solution of KOH） within the test potential range of 0.1–0.6 V ***, which is superior to most reported COF-based catalysts. Hence, this research could not only offer an innovative insight into the construction of composites, but also facilitate the practical application of renewable fuel cells, closed water cycle, and rechargeable metal-air batteries.

Multiple myeloma(MM)is the second most prevalent hematological *** MM treatment strategies are hampered by systemic toxicity and suboptimal therapeutic *** study addressed these limitations through the development of a potent MM-targeting chemotherapy strategy,which capitalized on the high binding affinity of alendronate for hydroxyapatite in the bone matrix and the homologous targeting of myeloma cell membranes,termed T-PB@*** results from our investigations highlight the considerable bone affinity of T-PB@M,both in vitro and in ***,this material demonstrated a capability for drug release triggered by low pH ***,T-PB@M induced the generation of reactive oxygen species and triggered cell apoptosis through the poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase 1(PARP1)-Caspase-3-B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2)pathway in MM ***,T-PB@M preferentially targeted bone-involved sites,thereby circumventing systemic toxic side effects and leading to prolonged survival of MM orthotopic ***,this designed target-MM nanocarrier presents a promising and potentially effective platform for the precise treatment of MM.

Nanozymes are next-generation of nanomaterials with enzyme-like *** particular,nanozymes with peroxidase(POD)-like activity have been utilized in various fields,including antibacterial,detection,degradation,***,their extensive applications were limited by their low catalytic activity ***,we have presented a composite nanozyme based on attapulgite(ATP)(Fe-ATP-MoS_(2)(FAM)),which exhibited enhanced POD-like activity(185.33 U·mg^(−1)),4.25 times higher than that of Fe-MoS_(2)(FM)(43.63 U·mg^(−1)).The density functional theory(DFT)calculations indicated that the addition of ATP increased the electron density of metal centers(Mo and Fe).More importantly,Michaelis–Menten kinetics revealed that the introduction of ATP significantly enhanced the binding affinities of substrates through the pores of ATP,forming a highly concentrated substrate microenvironment and thus promoting its POD-like ***,from molecular size and kinetic analysis,we proposed that the changes in substrate size before and after oxidation also significantly affected its Michaelis-constant(Km)***,we utilized FAM in the applications of highly effective antibacterial application and sensitive detection of glutathione(GSH).In conclusion,this work provides a novel approach for designing a highly efficient nanozyme based on natural mineral composites.
