A strategy for synthesis of polymer-protective bimetallic colloids

A strategy for the synthesis of polymer-protective bimetallic sols is proposed which has the advantage of the strong protective effect of the polymer agent on one of the composites to stabilize the bimetallic colloidal particles. This strategy is certified to be useful to the predication of the formation of stable bimetallic colloids protected by polymer and to the control of the particle size to a certain extent. A series of new PVP-protective bimetallic colloidal dispersions containing noble metal element (Pt, Rh, Pd), light transition metal element (Co, Fe), and boron are obtained from the corresponding salts by the methods of reduction by stage and coreduction, using the NaBH4 as reductant. The TEM, XRD and EPMA measurements indicate the formation of bimetallic colloids. An interesting kind of coil aggregation is observed in the systems of PVP-Pt-Co and PVP-Rh-Co prepared by the method of reduction by stage.

Recent years have witnessed the transformative impact from the integration of artificial intelligence with organic and polymer synthesis. This synergy offers innovative and intelligent solutions to a range of classic problems in synthetic chemistry. These exciting advancements include the prediction of molecular property, multi-step retrosynthetic pathway planning, elucidation of the structure-performance relationship of single-step transformation, establishment of the quantitative linkage between polymer structures and their functions, design and optimization of polymerization process, prediction of the structure and sequence of biological macromolecules, as well as automated and intelligent synthesis platforms. Chemists can now explore synthetic chemistry with unprecedented precision and efficiency, creating novel reactions, catalysts, and polymer materials under the datadriven paradigm. Despite these thrilling developments, the field of artificial intelligence(AI) synthetic chemistry is still in its infancy, facing challenges and limitations in terms of data openness, model interpretability, as well as software and hardware support. This review aims to provide an overview of the current progress, key challenges, and future development suggestions in the interdisciplinary field between AI and synthetic chemistry. It is hoped that this overview will offer readers a comprehensive understanding of this emerging field, inspiring and promoting further scientific research and development.

The two complexes [Ni(oxen)Cu(L)2.(ClO4)***2. (L=2.2.-bipyridyl(bpy), 1,10-phenanthroline(phen)) have been synthesized, where oxen is N,N'-bis(2.aminoethyl)oxamido di-anion. The crystal structure of [Ni(oxen)Cu(bpy)2.(ClO4)***3.H has been determined by X-ray diffraction method. The crystal is triclinic system, space group P1 with a=12.179(1),b=12.2.8(2., c=11.476(2. A, a=97.57(1), B=97.52.1), 7=80.2.(2., V=1669.04(67) A3. Z=2. Dcalcd=1.667 g/cm3. The structure has been refined to final R of 0.076 and Rw of 0.080, respectively. The complexes have an extended oxamido-bridged structure and consist of Ni(Ⅱ) ion in a square planar environment and Cu(Ⅱ) ion in a distorted octahedral environment.

Well-aligned hexagonal ZnO nanotubes （NTs） arrays were synthesized on pretreated indium tin oxide （ITO） substrates by a simple hydro- thermal method. The morphology and structure of the products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and X-ray diffraction analysis （XRD）. A new method of substrate pretreatment was introduced to prepare ZnO coated films. The size of ZnO seeds and the formation rate of ZnO NTs were investigated. Further, the mechanism of the preparation of ZnO NTs was discussed. The photoluminescence （PL） spectrum measurement shows fairly internal defects existing in ZnO nanotubes.

A series of 1D nickel(II)/zinc(II)-lanthanide(III) coordination polymers, [M(μ-L)2.n(NO3.3.n·solvents (HL = bis(2.pyridylcarbonyl)amine; M = Ni, Ln = Gd (1·NiGd), Tb (2.NiTb), Dy (3.NiDy), Ho (4·NiHo), Y (5·NiY); M = Zn, Ln = Gd (6·ZnGd), Tb (7·ZnTb), Dy (8·ZnDy), Ho (9·ZnHo); solvents = H2. or H2.-ethanol), was synthesized and characterized. All of the complexes are isostructural at 2.3.K and crystallize in the orthorhombic space group Fddd. Magnetic measurements were performed on 1―9, where weak ferromagnetic interaction is found in 1·NiGd, ferromagnetic interaction in 2.NiTb and 3.NiDy, and antiferromagnetic interaction in 4·NiHo. A remarkable dc magnetic field dependence of ac susceptibilities was found in this series of complexes.
