Neurological abnormalities identified via neuroimaging are common in patients with Alzheimer’s ***,it is not yet possible to easily detect these abnormalities using head computed tomography in the early stages of the *** this review,we evaluated the ways in which modern imaging techniques such as positron emission computed tomography,single photon emission tomography,magnetic resonance spectrum imaging,structural magnetic resonance imaging,magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging,magnetic resonance perfusion weighted imaging,magnetic resonance sensitive weighted imaging,and functional magnetic resonance imaging have revealed specific changes not only in brain structure,but also in brain function in Alzheimer’s disease *** reviewed literature indicated that decreased fluorodeoxyglucose metabolism in the temporal and parietal lobes of Alzheimer’s disease patients is frequently observed via positron emission computed ***,patients with Alzheimer’s disease often show a decreased N-acetylaspartic acid/creatine ratio and an increased myoinositol/creatine ratio revealed via magnetic resonance *** of the entorhinal cortex,hippocampus,and posterior cingulate gyrus can be detected early using structural magnetic resonance *** resonance sensitive weighted imaging can show small bleeds and abnormal iron ***-related functional magnetic resonance imaging can display brain function activity through cerebral blood *** functional magnetic resonance imaging can display the functional connection between brain neural *** are helpful for the differential diagnosis and experimental study of Alzheimer’s disease,and are valuable for exploring the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease.

Glutamine supplementation attenuates intestinal apoptosis by inducing heat shock protein 70 in heatstroke rats

BACKGROUND:Heatstroke is the most hazardous heat-related illness and has a high fatality *** investigated whether glutamine supplementation could have a protective effect on heatstroke ***:Twenty-five 12-week-old male Wistar rats(weight 305±16 g)were randomly divided into a control group(n=5),heatstroke(HS)group(n=10),and heatstroke+glutamine(HSG)group(n=10).Seven days before heat exposure,glutamine(0.4 g/[kg·d])was administered to the rats in the HSG group by gavage every *** hours after heat exposure,serum samples were collected to detect white blood cells,coagulation indicators,blood biochemical indicators,and inflammatory cytokines in the *** small intestine tissue was stained to analyze pathological structural changes and ***,immunohistochemistry and Western blotting were used to analyze the expression levels of heat shock protein 70(HSP70).Multiple comparisons were analyzed by using one-way analysis of variance,and the Bonferroni test was conducted for the post hoc ***:After heat exposure,the core temperature of the HS group(40.65±0.31°C)was higher than the criterion of heatstroke,whereas the core temperature of the HSG group(39.45±0.14°C)was lower than the *** supplementation restored the increased white blood cells,coagulation indicators,blood biochemical indicators,and inflammatory cytokines that were induced by heatstroke to normal *** intestinal mucosa was injured,and the structure of tight junctions was damaged in the HS group;however,the structure of intestinal mucosal epithelial cells was stable in the HSG *** supplementation alleviated intestinal apoptosis and up-regulated HSP70 ***:Glutamine supplementation may alleviate intestinal apoptosis by inducing the expression of HSP70 and have a protective effect on heatstroke rats.

Downregulation of signal transduction and STAT3 expression exacerbates oxidative stress mediated by NLRP3 inflammasome

Activated nucleotide binding to the oligonucleotide receptor protein 3（NLRP3） inflammasome is possibly involved in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer＇s disease through oxidative stress and neurogenic inflammation. Low expression of the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3（STAT3） gene may promote the occurrence of neurodegenerative diseases to some extent. To clarify the roles of the NLRP3 inflammasome and STAT3 expression in oxidative stress,（1） SHSY5 Y cells were incubated with 1 mM H2 O2 to induce oxidative stress injury, and the expression of human-cell-specific signal transduction, STAT3-shRNA silencing signal transduction and STAT3 were detected. Cells were pretreated with Ca2＋ chelator BAPATA-AM（0.1 mM） for 30 minutes as a control.（2） Western blot assay was used to analyze the expression of caspase-1, NLRP3, signal transduction and STAT3. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to analyze interleukin-1β levels. Flow cytometry was carried out to calculate the number of apoptotic cells. We found that H2 O2 treatment activated NLRP3 inflammasomes and decreased phosphorylation of signal transduction and STAT3 serine 727. BAPTA-AM pretreatment abolished the H2 O2-induced activation of NLRP3 inflammasomes, caspase-1 expression, interleukin-1β expression and apoptosis in SHSY5 Y cells, and had no effect in cells with downregulated STAT3 expression by RNAi. The findings suggest that downregulation of signal transduction and STAT3 expression may enhance the oxidative stress mediated by NLRP3, which may not depend on the Ca2^＋ signaling pathway.

A novel BINOL-based fluorescence probe(S)-6 featuring a sodium sulfonate fragment at the 2'-position was designed and synthesized via simple synthetic procedures under mild reaction *** watersoluble probe(S)-6 displays excellent enantioselective recognition toward 15 common amino acids,and it can be used for enantiomeric excess determination of amino *** fluorescence intensity of(S)-6 treated with amino acids reaches the maximum after standing for only 30 min at room temperature and remains stable in the following 5.5 h,which has great potential in the application of chiral fluorescence analysis due to its timeliness and outstanding fluorescent stability.

Correlative factors of poor prognosis and abnormal cellular immune function in patients with Alzheimer’s disease

A novel and readily available binaphthyl-based fluorescent probe(S)-1 was designed and synthesized.(S)-1 can be used to not only chemoselectively discriminate 3 basic amino acids out of common amino acids,but also enantioselectively recognize ***,enantioselective imaging of histidine in cells was achieved for the first time by the probe(S)-*** performances endowed it potential application in the chiral analysis of basic amino acids in asymmetric synthesis and cell imaging for diagnosis of diseases caused by racemization of *** magnetic resonance(NMR)and mass spectrometry investigations suggested that different reaction extent of(S)-1 with L/D-histidine and different product structures generated the observed enantioselective fluorescent *** molecular structures and thermodynamic stability of the complexes,formed from(S)-1+Zn2+and enantiomers of histidine,were calculated by Gaussian 16 based on density functional theory(DFT)to validate the above action mechanism.

Identification of a Cytoplasmic Male Sterile Line NEA in Brassica napus *** Its Genetic Studies

Male sterile NEA plants were identified in progenies of the radiated 92P x Aggregate-silique in Brassica napus L. in 1993. Their progeny plants from test crossing and open pollination were 100% male sterile. The double-low male sterile lines JL-4 and JL-18 were bred through successive backcrossing of the double -low variety No.4 and No. 18 in Brassica napus *** NEA. Restorer lines 6720 and 6722 with significant heterosis in F1 were developed. The results from investigating the restoring-ntaintaining relationship and inheritance of the restorer gene indicated that JL-4 and JL-18 were different from both PolCMS and Shan 2A type, and their restorer gene was controlled by a pair of dominant genie genes.

Drug-eluting stents improve clinical outcomes in Chinese diabetic patients with de novo coronary artery disease

Diabetes mellitus （DM） has been regarded as an equivalent risk factor as coronary artery disease and is present in nearly 25% of patients who receive percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI）. DM is shown as an adverse predictor for major adverse cardiac events （MACE） after PCI in bare metal stent （BMS） era. Recently, clinical trials have demonstrated the favorable tendency of using drug-eluting stents （DES） in treating diabetic patients with coronary artery disease. This study compared the clinical outcomes between the diabetic patients receiving DES with those receiving BMS in China.

目的:利用太赫兹时域光谱(terahertz time-domain spectroscopy,THz-TDS)技术对丙烯酰胺、淀粉及两者混合物进行定性、定量检测。方法:通过采集时域光谱数据,获得丙烯酰胺、淀粉及两者混合物在THz波段的吸收谱与折射率谱;采用偏最小二乘法(partial least squares,PLS)对淀粉中丙烯酰胺的低浓度含量进行回归拟合分析。结果:丙烯酰胺在1.33 THz处有一个明显的特征吸收峰,可用于物质识别;随着混合物中丙烯酰胺质量的增加,样品的吸收系数和折射率都呈现逐渐下降的趋势。由回归模型分析可得,混合物中丙烯酰胺质量含量与吸收系数、折射率都有良好的线性关系,其中基于折射率的PLS模型相关系数可达0.9994,标准误差0.1335%,检出极限0.4402%,定量限1.334%,最大绝对偏差小于0.2497%。结论:THz-TDS技术具有检测结果可靠的优点,可用于淀粉中丙烯酰胺含量的快速、无损检测,为太赫兹光谱检测食品中的有害添加物提供了理论基础。

Retroperitoneal chylous affusion after urological surgery is a rare and serious complication. Failure in treatment may result in cachexia, threatening the life of the patient. The present article is a summary of our experience in the treatment of 2 cases of postoperative retroperitoneal chylous effusions by use of somatostatin in combination with total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
