Quantitative prediction model for the depth limit of oil accumulation in the deep carbonate rocks:A case study of Lower Ordovician in Tazhong area of Tarim Basin

With continuous hydrocarbon exploration extending to deeper basins,the deepest industrial oil accumulation was discovered below 8,200 m,revealing a new exploration ***,the extent to which oil exploration can be extended,and the prediction of the depth limit of oil accumulation(DLOA),are issues that have attracted significant attention in petroleum *** it is difficult to characterize the evolution of the physical properties of the marine carbonate reservoir with burial depth,and the deepest drilling still cannot reach the ***,the DLOA cannot be predicted by directly establishing the relationship between the ratio of drilling to the dry layer and the *** this study,by establishing the relationships between the porosity and the depth and dry layer ratio of the carbonate reservoir,the relationships between the depth and dry layer ratio were obtained *** depth corresponding to a dry layer ratio of 100%is the *** on this,a quantitative prediction model for the DLOA was finally *** results indicate that the porosity of the carbonate reservoir,Lower Ordovician in Tazhong area of Tarim Basin,tends to decrease with burial depth,and manifests as an overall low porosity reservoir in deep *** critical porosity of the DLOA was 1.8%,which is the critical geological condition corresponding to a 100%dry layer ratio encountered in the *** depth of the DLOA was 9,000 *** study provides a new method for DLOA prediction that is beneficial for a deeper understanding of oil accumulation,and is of great importance for scientific guidance on deep oil drilling.

Development of component stiffness equations for thread-fixed one-side bolt connections to an enclosed rectangular hollow section column under tension

The derivation and validation of analytical equations for predicting the tensile initial stiffness of threadfixed one-side bolts(TOBs),connected to enclosed rectangular hollow section(RHS)columns,is presented in this *** unknown stiffness components are considered:the TOBs connection and the enclosed RHS ***,the trapezoidal thread of TOB,as an equivalent cantilevered beam subjected to uniformly distributed loads,is analyzed to determine the associated *** on the findings,the thread-shank serial-parallel stiffness model of TOB connection is *** analysis of the tensile stiffness of the enclosed RHS face due to two bolt forces,the four sidewalls are treated as rotation constraints,thus reducing the problem to a two-dimensional plate *** to the load superposition method,the deflection of the face plate is resolved into three components under various boundary and load *** to the plate deflection theory of Timoshenko,the analytical solutions for the three deflections are derived in terms of the variables of bolt spacing,RHS thickness,height to width ratio,***,the validity of the above stiffness equations is verified by a series of finite element(FE)models of T-stub *** proposed component stiffness equations are an effective supplement to the component-based method.

Oily wastewater from ocean oil spills endangers marine ecosystems and human health. Therefore, developing an effective and sustainable solution for separating oil-water mixtures is urgent. Interfacial solar photothermal evaporation is a promising approach for the complete separation of two-phase mixtures using only solar energy. Herein, we report a carbonized wood-based absorber with Janus structure of comprising a hydrophobic top-layer and an oleophobic bottom-layer for simultaneous solar-driven oil-water separation and electricity generation. Under sunlight irradiation, the rapid evaporation of seawater will induce a separation of oil-water mixtures, and cause a high salt concentration region underlying the interface, while the bottom “bulk water” maintains in a low salt concentration, thus forming a salinity gradient. Electricity can be generated by salinity gradient power. Therefore, oil-water separation efficiency of > 99% and derived extra electricity power of ~0.1 W/m2 is achieved under solar radiation, demonstrating the feasibility of oil-water separation and electricity production synchronously directly using solar energy. This work provides a green and cost-effective path for the separation of oil-water mixtures.

Evaluation of 3D crustal seismic velocity models in southwest China:Model performance,limitation,and prospects

Southwest China is a tectonically and seismically active region,witnessing strong deformation due to the collision between the Indian and Eurasian *** the subsurface velocity structure of this region is thus important in understanding the tectonics and geodynamic processes of continental collision and in mitigating seismic *** studies have provided various 3D seismic velocity models in southwest ***,discrepancies exist among these models,and less effort has been made to quantify the reliability and accuracy of these existing velocity *** this study,we use regional 3D waveform simulation to evaluate the performance of various regional crustal 3D velocity models in reproducing observed *** particularly focus on two recent earthquake sequence in the region,the 2021 Yunnan yangbi MS_(6.4) earthquake sequence and the 2022 Sichuan Luding MS_(6.8) earthquake *** tested 3D velocity models include the Southwest China Community Velocity model V1.0,the Unified Seismic Tomography Models for Continental China Lithosphere V2.0,the adjoint full waveform tomography model of the crustal and upper mantle beneath Eastern Tibetan Plateau,and the shallow seismic structure model beneath continental *** results show that the tested 3D velocity models generally capture well long-period(full-waveform tomography model shows a slighter better performance than the other models,especially for the body-waves,highlighting the advantages

On a Flexible Loan Repayment Method Depending on Borrower's Asset with an Early Termination Clause

Aiming at the problem that the asset’s fluctuation influences the borrower’s repayment ability,a loan with a new and flexible repayment method is designed,which depends on the asset value of the *** repayment method can reduce the loan default probability,but it causes the uncertainty of the pay off *** the repayment term is related to the regular repayment amount in this method,a boundary for the regular repayment amount is set up in order to avoid too long repayment *** will balance the benefit of borrowers and lenders and improve the applicability of this *** establishing a mathematical model of the residual value of the loan,this model can be transformed into an initial-boundary problem of a partial differential *** analytic solution and the expected time to pay off the loan are ***,numerical analysis are shown.

Significantly improved near-field communication antennas based on novel Ho^(3+)and Co^(2+)ions co-doped Ni-Zn ferrites

In near-field communication(NFC)antennas,soft magnetic ferrites are usually applied as a substrate to reduce eddy current loss and increase magnetic field *** this purpose,the applied ferrites are required to have high permeability and saturation magnetization together with low magnetic loss and dielectric ***,for most soft magnetic ferrites,it is difficult to meet all the *** novel Ni-Zn ferrite ceramics co-doped by Ho^(3+)and Co^(2+)ions with chemical formula Ni_(0.5-x)Zn_(0.5)Ho_(0.02)Co_(x)Fe_(1.98)O_(4)(x=0-0.2)were designed and prepared to balance these needs on the basis of molten salt synthesis with metal nitrates as raw materials and potassium hydroxide(KOH)as the precipitation agent and molten salt *** the substitution of Ho^(3+),the saturation magnetization and initial permeability decrease,but with further doping of Co^(2+),the saturation magnetization gradually increases,while the initial permeability continues to *** x=0.1,the sample will have the lowest dielectric constant,magnetic and dielectric loss,as well as the highest Curie temperature(305℃).Moreover,the acquired Ni-Zn ferrites have been applied simulatively in NFC antennas,revealing that the device manufactured with the optimal Ni_(0.4)Zn_(0.5)Ho_(0.02)Co_(0.1)Fe_(1.98)O_(4)ferrite ceramics would have significantly improved performance at 13.56 MHz with low leakage and long transmit distance of magnetic ***,the Ni_(0.4)Zn_(0.5)Ho_(0.02)Co_(0.1)Fe_(1.98)O_(4)ferrite ceramics would be a good candidate for NFC antenna substrates.

Ultrathin surface coating of Cu enabling long-life Zn metal anodes

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)are regarded as promising energy storage devices due to their low cost,high capacity,and ecological ***,the severe dendritic growth and side reactions hinder their practical applicability ***,an ultrathin Cu coating layer(~200 nm)is decorated on zinc foils via filtered cathodic vacuum arc deposition technology,aiming to achieve high-performance *** Cu layer effectively suppresses chemical corrosion and hydrogen evolution reactions and enables preferential(002)Zn deposition during the stripping/plating ***,the Cu@Zn anode represents an elongated cycle life over 4,000 h at 2 mA·cm^(-2)/2 mAh·cm^(-2).Even in conditions of high current density of 5 and 10 mA·cm^(-2),the Cu@Zn anode shows prolonged cycling stability exceeding 4000 and 2000 h,*** advantages also bring high Coulombic efficiency of 99.87%under 5 mAh·cm^(-2)in Cu@Ti||Zn half-cell over 1500 ***,the Cu@Zn||MnO_(2)full cell demonstrates a superior cyclability with a specific capacity of 203 mAh·g^(-1)after 500 cycles a1 A·g^(-1).

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries have attracted much attention due to their high theoretical capacity,low cost high safety,and ***,challenges such as dendrite growth and side reactions severely hinder the electrochemical performance of the Zn anode,leading to low Coulombic efficiency(CE)or even short circuits Herein,phenolic resin(PF)is used as a protective coating on the surface of the zinc metal *** PF layer can greatly improve the corrosion resistance of the Zn electrode in the ***,this artificial electrode/electrolyte interphase also elevates the nucleation barrier and restrains Zn^(2+)2D diffusion,regulating the zinc deposition/dissolution *** a result,PF@Zn symmetric cells exhibit superior performance than that of bare Zn symmetric cells,achieving a stable and dendrite-free cycle of 1400 ***,the carbon nanotube MnO_(2)||PF@Zn(CNT/MnO_(2)||PF@Zn)full cell also delivers a long cycle life with a high-capacity retention of about 180.0 m Ah·g^(-1)after 1400 cycles,far exceeding that of bare Zn *** work provides a facile strategy for achieving a dendrite-free and rechargeable zinc anode.

This study investigated degradation behaviors of a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug Nabumetone(NMT)and its major metabolite 6-methoxy-2-naphthylacetic acid(MNA)in the coupling process of ultraviolet and monochloramine(UV/NH2Cl).The second-order rate constants of the contaminants reacting with reactive radicals(HO·,Cl·,Cl_(2)·-,and CO_(3)·^(-))were determined by laser flash photolysis ***·and Cl·contributed predominantly with 52.3%and 21.7%for NMT degradation and 60.8%and 22.3%for MNA *** presence of chlorides retarded the degradation of NMT,while promoted the destruction of MNA,which was ascribed to the photosensitization effects of MNA under UV *** functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed that radical adduct formation(RAF)was dominant pathway for both HO·and Cl·reacting with the contaminants,and hydrogen atom transfer(HAT)preferred to occur on side chains of NMT and *** reacted with NO_(2)·through single electron transfer(SET)with the second-order rate constant calculated to be 5.35×10^(7)(mol/L)^(-1)sec^(-1),and the contribution of NO_(2)·was predicted to be 13.0%of the total rate constant of NMT in pure water,which indicated that NO_(2)·played a nonnegligible role in the degradation of *** acute toxicity and developmental toxicity of NMT were enhanced after UV/NH_(2)Cl treatment,while those of MNA were *** transformation products of both NMT and MNA exhibited higher mutagenicity than their parent *** study provides a deep understanding of the mechanism of radical degradation of NMT and MNA in the treatment of UV/NH2Cl.
