Health correlates, addictive behaviors, and peer victimization among adolescents in China

Background Peer victimization has been recognized as a common social problem affecting children and adolescents in all parts of the world. This study aims to examine the prevalence of different types of peer victimization and to evaluate the associations between peer victimization and health correlates. Methods Using a large population sample of 18,341 adolescents aged 15–17 years from 6 cities in China, this study esti-mated the prevalence of different types of peer victimization, addictive behaviors, and health-related variables with self-administrated questionnaires. A three-phase logistical regression analysis was conducted to investigate the associations between peer victimization and addictive behaviors as well as health-related factors among adolescents. Results A total of 42.9% of the surveyed Chinese adolescents have been bullied by peers, with boys reporting higher rate on overt victimization (36.9%) and girls on relational forms (33.9%). School environment (34.7%) was the most frequent scene of peer violence, followed by neighborhood, family, and internet. Addictive behaviors except substance abuse were found related to higher possibility of peer victimization (aOR 1.21–1.73, P<0.001). Peer victimization was significantly associated with more depressive symptoms, post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms, and suicide ideation and deliberate self-harm (aOR 1.05–2.27, P<0.001), and poorer self-esteem and health-related quality of life (aOR 0.95–0.97, P<0.001). Conclusion Possible explanations of the associations found in this study are discussed and implications for future services are raised.

Particle Distribution Informed by Chain Rigidity in Diblock Copolymer Melts: The Effect of Entropy

We study the effect of chain rigidity on tailoring the nanoparticle locations for neutral and selective particles embedded in the lamellar morphology formed by semiflexible diblock copolymer chains using self-consistent field calculations. The nanoparticles are modeled through a cavity function, and the semiflexible chains are represented by the continuous Kratsky-Porod chain model. In general situation, the nanoparticles prefer to stay at the interface in order to reduce the interface areas and thus the system free energy. However, the particle distribution at the domain center is subtle, and the underlying physics is intrinsically different depending on the polymer flexibility. In the case of flexible chains, the entropy just contributes a constant shift to the free energy when the nanoparticles move around the domain center indicating that the local metastable state if appears at the domain center is wholly attributed to the local minimum in the enthalpy. If the polymers are rigid, the variation of the particle distribution at the domain center has a close relation with the polymer rigidity and nanoparticle size. In the case of strongly rigid polymers with small nanoparticles, a nearly uniform particle distribution at the domain center is observed, while in other cases, a local enhancement of particle distribution there is found. In contrast to the case of flexible chains, further analysis reveals the crucial role of entropy in controlling the shape of particle distributions at the phase domain. Specifically, the local metastable state appears in the domain center is determined by the large entropy there which arises from the weak coupling of bond orientations that allows the polymer chains to be relatively relaxed. When the particle becomes selective, its distribution in the phase domain exhibits a shift almost uniformly rather than changes its profile, and the underlying physics still holds. Comprehensive Evaluation Method for Traffic Flow Data Quality Based on Grey Correlation Analysis and Particle Swarm Optimization

Nowadays,data are more and more used for intelligent modeling and prediction,and the comprehensive evaluation of data quality is getting more and more attention as a necessary means to measure whether the data are usable or ***,the comprehensive evaluation method of data quality mostly contains the subjective factors of the evaluator,so how to comprehensively and objectively evaluate the data has become a bottleneck that needs to be solved in the research of comprehensive evaluation *** order to evaluate the data more comprehensively,objectively and differentially,a novel comprehensive evaluation method based on particle swarm optimization(PSO)and grey correlation analysis(GCA)is presented in this *** first,an improved GCA evaluation model based on the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution(TOPSIS)is ***,an objective function model of maximum difference of the comprehensive evaluation values is built,and the PSO algorithm is used to optimize the weights of the improved GCA evaluation model based on the objective function ***,the performance of the proposed method is investigated through parameter analysis.A performance comparison of traffic flow data is carried out,and the simulation results show that the maximum average difference between the evaluation results and its mean value(MDR)of the proposed comprehensive evaluation method is 33.24%higher than that of TOPSIS-GCA,and 6.86%higher than that of *** proposed method has better differentiation than other methods,which means that it objectively and comprehensively evaluates the data from both the relevance and differentiation of the data,and the results more effectively reflect the differences in data quality,which will provide more effective data support for intelligent modeling,prediction and other applications.

Evaluation of 3D crustal seismic velocity models in southwest China:Model performance,limitation,and prospects

Southwest China is a tectonically and seismically active region,witnessing strong deformation due to the collision between the Indian and Eurasian *** the subsurface velocity structure of this region is thus important in understanding the tectonics and geodynamic processes of continental collision and in mitigating seismic *** studies have provided various 3D seismic velocity models in southwest ***,discrepancies exist among these models,and less effort has been made to quantify the reliability and accuracy of these existing velocity *** this study,we use regional 3D waveform simulation to evaluate the performance of various regional crustal 3D velocity models in reproducing observed *** particularly focus on two recent earthquake sequence in the region,the 2021 Yunnan Yangbi MS_(6.4) earthquake sequence and the 2022 Sichuan Luding MS_(6.8) earthquake *** tested 3D velocity models include the Southwest China Community Velocity model V1.0,the Unified Seismic Tomography Models for Continental China Lithosphere V2.0,the adjoint full waveform tomography model of the crustal and upper mantle beneath Eastern Tibetan Plateau,and the shallow seismic structure model beneath continental *** results show that the tested 3D velocity models generally capture well long-period(<0.2 Hz)waveforms,indicating that the 3D models adequately resolve overall large-scale subsurface ***,the 3D synthetics show discrepancies in higher frequencies(0.05–0.3 Hz)and the performance of the 3D velocity models varies from region to region,suggesting that smaller scale heterogeneities are not well *** shallow velocity structures(<10 km)can improve the waveform fitting,emphasizing the importance of incorporating shallow structures in waveform *** full-waveform tomography model shows a slighter better performance than the other models,especially for the body-waves,highlighting the advantages

Approximate analytical solutions for threedimensional ascent trajectory of a solid-fuel launch vehicle with time-varying mass flow rate

In the scenario that a solid-fuel launch vehicle maneuvers in outer space at high angles of attack and sideslip for energy management,Approximate Analytical Solutions(AAS)for the threedimensional(3D)ascent flight states are derived,which are the only solutions capable of considering time-varying Mass Flow Rate(MFR)at *** uneven MFR makes the thrust vary nonlinearly and thus increases the difficulty of the problem *** AAS are derived based on a 3D Generalized Ascent Dynamics Model(GADM)with a normalized mass as the independent *** simplify some highly nonlinear terms in the GADM,several approximate functions are introduced carefully,while the errors of the approximations relative to the original terms are regarded as minor ***,a finite series with positive and negative exponents,called Exponent-Symmetry Series(ESS),is proposed for function approximation to decrease the highest exponent in the AAS so as to reduce computer round-off *** calculate the ESS coefficients,a method of seeking the Optimal Interpolation Points(OIP)is proposed using the leastsquares-approximation *** to the artful design of the approximations,the GADM can be decomposed into two analytically solvable subsystems by a perturbation method,and thus the AAS are obtained ***,to help implement the AAS,two indirect methods for measuring the remaining mass and predicting the burnout time in flight are put forward using information from *** results verify the superiority of the AAS under the condition of time-varying MFR.

Deformation-based longitudinal equivalent stiffness beam model for shield tunnel and its application in seismic deformation method

In the longitudinal seismic deformation method for shield tunnels,one of the most commonly used is the longitudinal equivalent stiffness beam model(LES)for simulating the mechanical behavior of the *** this model,axial deformation and bending deformation are independent,so the equivalent stiffness is a constant ***,the actual situation is that axial deformation and bending deformation occur simultaneously,which is not considered in *** present,we are not clear about the effect on the calculation results when axial deformation and bending deformation occur ***,in this paper,we improve the traditional LES by taking the relative deformation as a load and considering the coordinated deformation of axial and bending degrees of *** improved model is called DNLES,and its neutral axis equations are an explicit ***,we propose an iterative algorithm to solve the calculation model of the DNLES-based longitudinal seismic deformation *** a calculation example,we find that the internal forces based on LES are notably underestimated than those of DNLES in the compression bending zone,while are overestimated in the tension bending *** considering the combined effect,the maximum bending moment reached 13.7 times that of the LES model,and the axial pressure and tension were about 1.14 and 0.96 times,*** analysis reveals the coordinated deformation process in the axial and bending directions of the shield tunnel,which leads to a consequent change in equivalent *** explains why,in the longitudinal seismic deformation method,the traditional LES may result in unreasonable calculation results.

A systematic COSMO-RS study on mutual solubility of ionic liquids and C6-hydrocarbons

When considering the usage of ionic liquids(ILs)for reactions and separations involving non-polar or weak-polar hydrocarbons,the knowledge of the mutual solubility behaviors of ILs and hydrocarbons is of the utmost *** this work,taking four typical C6-hydrocarbons namely benzene,cyclohexene,cyclohexane,and hexane as representatives,the mutual solubility of ILs and non-polar or weak-polar hydrocarbons are systematically studied based on the COSMO-RS *** reliability of COSMO-RS for these systems is first evaluated by comparing experimental and predicted hydrocarbon-in-IL activity coefficient at infinite dilution and binary/ternary liquid-liquid equilibria of related ***,the mutual solubility of the four hydrocarbons and13,650 ILs(composed by 210 cations and 65 anions)are *** effect of different IL structural characteristics including alkyl chain length,cation family/symmetry/functional group,and anion on the IL-hydrocarbon mutual solubility behaviors are further analyzed by the analyses of interaction energy and screen charge *** mutual solubility databases and the structural effects identified thereon could provide useful guidance for IL selection in related applications.
