Oily wastewater from ocean oil spills endangers marine ecosystems and human health. Therefore, developing an effective and sustainable solution for separating oil-water mixtures is urgent. Interfacial solar photothermal evaporation is a promising approach for the complete separation of two-phase mixtures using only solar energy. Herein, we report a carbonized wood-based absorber with Janus structure of comprising a hydrophobic top-layer and an oleophobic bottom-layer for simultaneous solar-driven oil-water separation and electricity generation. Under sunlight irradiation, the rapid evaporation of seawater will induce a separation of oil-water mixtures, and cause a high salt concentration region underlying the interface, while the bottom “bulk water” maintains in a low salt concentration, thus forming a salinity gradient. Electricity can be generated by salinity gradient power. Therefore, oil-water separation efficiency of > 99% and derived extra electricity power of ~0.1.W/m2 is achieved under solar radiation, demonstrating the feasibility of oil-water separation and electricity production synchronously directly using solar energy. This work provides a green and cost-effective path for the separation of oil-water mixtures.

Southwest China is a tectonically and seismically active region,witnessing strong deformation due to the collision between the Indian and Eurasian *** the subsurface velocity structure of this region is thus important in understanding the tectonics and geodynamic processes of continental collision and in mitigating seismic *** studies have provided various 3D seismic velocity models in southwest ***,discrepancies exist among these models,and less effort has been made to quantify the reliability and accuracy of these existing velocity *** this study,we use regional 3D waveform simulation to evaluate the performance of various regional crustal 3D velocity models in reproducing observed *** particularly focus on two recent earthquake sequence in the region,the 2021.Yunnan Yangbi MS_(6.4) earthquake sequence and the 2022 Sichuan Luding MS_(6.8) earthquake *** tested 3D velocity models include the Southwest China Community Velocity model V1.0,the Unified Seismic Tomography Models for Continental China Lithosphere V2.0,the adjoint full waveform tomography model of the crustal and upper mantle beneath Eastern Tibetan Plateau,and the shallow seismic structure model beneath continental *** results show that the tested 3D velocity models generally capture well long-period(1. km)can improve the waveform fitting,emphasizing the importance of incorporating shallow structures in waveform *** full-waveform tomography model shows a slighter better performance than the other models,especially for the body-waves,highlighting the advantages

In near-field communication(NFC)antennas,soft magnetic ferrites are usually applied as a substrate to reduce eddy current loss and increase magnetic field *** this purpose,the applied ferrites are required to have high permeability and saturation magnetization together with low magnetic loss and dielectric ***,for most soft magnetic ferrites,it is difficult to meet all the *** novel Ni-Zn ferrite ceramics co-doped by Ho^(3+)and Co^(2+)ions with chemical formula Ni_(0.5-x)Zn_(0.5)Ho_(0.02)Co_(x)Fe_(1.98)O_(4)(x=0-0.2)were designed and prepared to balance these needs on the basis of molten salt synthesis with metal nitrates as raw materials and potassium hydroxide(KOH)as the precipitation agent and molten salt *** the substitution of Ho^(3+),the saturation magnetization and initial permeability decrease,but with further doping of Co^(2+),the saturation magnetization gradually increases,while the initial permeability continues to *** x=0.1.the sample will have the lowest dielectric constant,magnetic and dielectric loss,as well as the highest Curie temperature(305℃).Moreover,the acquired Ni-Zn ferrites have been applied simulatively in NFC antennas,revealing that the device manufactured with the optimal Ni_(0.4)Zn_(0.5)Ho_(0.02)Co_(0.1.Fe_(1.98)O_(4)ferrite ceramics would have significantly improved performance at 1..56 MHz with low leakage and long transmit distance of magnetic ***,the Ni_(0.4)Zn_(0.5)Ho_(0.02)Co_(0.1.Fe_(1.98)O_(4)ferrite ceramics would be a good candidate for NFC antenna substrates.

This study investigated degradation behaviors of a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug Nabumetone(NMT)and its major metabolite 6-methoxy-2-naphthylacetic acid(MNA)in the coupling process of ultraviolet and monochloramine(UV/NH2Cl).The second-order rate constants of the contaminants reacting with reactive radicals(HO·,Cl·,Cl_(2)·-,and CO_(3)·^(-))were determined by laser flash photolysis ***·and Cl·contributed predominantly with 52.3%and 21.7%for NMT degradation and 60.8%and 22.3%for MNA *** presence of chlorides retarded the degradation of NMT,while promoted the destruction of MNA,which was ascribed to the photosensitization effects of MNA under UV *** functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed that radical adduct formation(RAF)was dominant pathway for both HO·and Cl·reacting with the contaminants,and hydrogen atom transfer(HAT)preferred to occur on side chains of NMT and *** reacted with NO_(2)·through single electron transfer(SET)with the second-order rate constant calculated to be 5.35×1.^(7)(mol/L)^(-1.sec^(-1.,and the contribution of NO_(2)·was predicted to be 1..0%of the total rate constant of NMT in pure water,which indicated that NO_(2)·played a nonnegligible role in the degradation of *** acute toxicity and developmental toxicity of NMT were enhanced after UV/NH_(2)Cl treatment,while those of MNA were *** transformation products of both NMT and MNA exhibited higher mutagenicity than their parent *** study provides a deep understanding of the mechanism of radical degradation of NMT and MNA in the treatment of UV/NH2Cl.

The sluggish kinetics behaviors and vast volume variations of Na+hosts to FeS2anode involved intercalation,and conversion reactions plague its applicability of sodium-ion batteries （SIBs）.Here,a significantly expedited kinetics via cation intercalation and considerably relieved stress accumulation by constructing the concave scaffold protector are approached for *** Mn2+intercalation into FeS2,a new stable Mn–FeS2was generated with distorted coordination;elevated antibonding orbital occupancy and lowed d band center to the release of more free Na+were achieved,which was further encapsulated by hollow bowl-like carbon spheres （BC）This cation intercalation and concave morphology strategies confer Mn–FeS2@BC significantly enhanced electron ion transport kinetics via reversed electron transfer to FeS2fast desolvation kinetics,and evidently depressed structural deformation during Na+insertion and ***,Mn–FeS2@BC delivers the longevity and stable Na+storage capacity in both half and full cell ***,Mn–FeS2@BC also displays excellen adaptability in a wider temperature *** work proposes new views into the deep regulation of electrochemical performance of transition metal anodes via intercalation chemistry and concave engineering.
